@@clairethompson5549 Charming and evocative as this notion is, I doubt it frankly. You need creative discipline to come up with something that good. You can draw inspiration from drunkent moments when sober but if you actually try and write something drunk or high there's usually no quality control.

I've never seen him in anything and not enjoyed his performance, not even his early work, like 'Taking Over the Asylum' (absolutely find this and watch it if you want to see Such!A!Kid!David! He's SO adorable!). He's been on his game from the start and only gotten better. There are things he's done I've been like, "Yeah, not my thing; think I'll pass," but it's been b/c of what it's about, never because I didn't think I'd enjoy his performance. TBH, there are times when he's played the villain, such as in Jessica Jones, I've had to seriously debate if I'm going to watch b/c of how incredibly good he is at being creepy, soulless, and evil. It can be triggering for me. I suppose it's a compliment; "You're such a good actor it triggers me and I cannot watch"? 😄

    And the Shepherd's Boy says:
There's this big mountain, see, a mile high, at the end of the universe. And once every thousand years, there's this little bird. And it flies, in a spaceship if you like, all the way to this mountain and sharpens its beak. Sharpens its beak on the mountain. And then it flies back. And after a thousand years, it goes and does it all over again. When the bird has worn the mountain down to nothing, then you still won't have finished watching "the Sound of Music".
You might think that's a hell of a long time. Personally, I think that's a hell of a bird.

Michael Scott: “Don’t ever for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you were with, or, where are you going,or , or where you’ve been, ever, for any reason whatsoever “
Crowley: (um, let me adjusted it) “My point…my…my point is my point is…my point is DOLPHINS”

I love this scene in the TV series, mostly because of how, when they force themselves to sober up, they repeatedly work their tongues with disgusted looks on their faces. Ever see a cat that's just been given medicine? That's what they look like. 😝😜😝

Crowley's story of the bird sharpening its beak is suspiciously reminiscent of the Buddhist way of describing a kalpa, which is a measurement of time. Only in the Buddhist version it is a delicate piece of cloth just touching the mountain.

Ah, my favourite scene. Paused my reread to read over this scene again. And then watch the equivalent scene in the show, which led me here. And I've listened to this a few more times in the last 2 days. And then read it one more time before continuing on. It's got to the point where I'm hearing Mr Tennant's voice narrating in my head.
There are worse problems to have...

@@annieinwonderland they were gonna have michael be crowley and thats it, they only hired david bc michael thought crowley wouldnt suit him therefore opening a chance for anyone else to be crowley, there have never been plans on david being aziraphale, he only came up bc the position for crowley was open.
