Seems to me that I used to have a knife in RWL 34 many years ago. It wasn't a custom. I might be mistaken, but it chipped out on me when I was cutting some cardboard very soon after its purchase. I put it up and eventually gave it to one of my kids. Probably should have sent it in under warranty. Anyway, great test video. Thanks
Nice dood! I'm surprised you did a cut test at all, dont know if I could have lol. Beautiful knife and thanks for the test. Gotta get me a Norseman soon.
@GasStationKnives4Ever lol that's a fair point. I'm guessing I'll probably never spend more then 1k though. Spending 800 on my Rosie took some mental gymnastics for sure. Worth it and now my glass ceiling and comfort level at spending higher has gone up.
I have a Herman Ishtar in RWL34 at 63 HRC, and that stuff is impressive. It really holds that keen edge well, seems like even more so than a lot of the M390/20CV I have.
Now I want one! Someone here in Australia has two Norseman for sale today at pretty reasonable prices and while I don’t live the way they look I’d probably have grabbed one if I had some spare cash. In fact it was just about the same price as I just payed for my XM-24 hollow ground slicer by the time I paid shipping and taxes etc on it. That doesn’t include the cost of the Ti scale for the 24 that I got a few weeks before, so really the cheaper of the two Norsemans would have been a steal.
I have been waiting to see this one. I’m so glad it did good because I really want one. I got the email today but I don’t think I can work out the funds this time. Hopefully next time. Thanks Doody.
Watching you test the Rask reminds me, did you check out that Mtech shaped like a vodka bottle I told you about a while back? It's pretty sick. It would probably do pretty good in the cut test. All jokes aside, that looks like a freaking awesome knife. Congrats again on the purchase 😊
Doody juice comes in a little bottle containing a white-ish liquid. It contains the most masculine diamond-like swimmers that will absolutely give your knife blade that hawk tua for a supreme sharp edge. Patent pending.
The edge retention on that blade steel is really impressive. Still effortlessly slicing through paper after all that cutting. Fascinating
Yeah it’s amazing
Awe gotta do the Edge killer! It’s the only way to really compare it to the others!
You do it with your Rask!! 😉
@@doodysdaggers lol I would eventually!

Heck of a cutting monster. Thanks for the vid!

Dood me too!
The trick is to own a lot of $5000+ knives so the $1k knife feels like a beater.

Yeah it seems to be very good at holding an edge! Kinda surprised
RWL34 is basically the same thing as CPM-154. Very nice stuff when it gets the custom heat treatment.
Okay good to know

I love my Rask. Had considered not carrying it, just because it's so nice looking. Scratch that thought after watching your video.
Yeah man carry and enjoy it! Such a great cutter
@@doodysdaggers I carried it for part of the day today.

It’s something to work towards and look forward to!!
