Great video. I have a gravel circle drive at my house and get a lot of stone in the grass from plowing so I bought the power broom attachment about 3 years ago. It’s a work out but went from 3-4 hours of raking to 30 mins. Plus I tend to have my teenage son Scout operate it while I at least pretend to be getting something else accomplished.
Hey man. Thanks for the clear demonstration of use. Picked up a used one today. Awesome machine so far... but damn, they are heavy. Also, real reason for commenting: wanted to say thanks for an idea I caught in one of your previous vids. You mentioned continuing some of your clients on weekly service for leaf cleanup work. I've been bagged by having to Wait/wait/go for leaf cleanups the last few years. Totally grabbing this idea and getting as many of mine as I can on weekly continuation of service through Oct. I'm not sure my clients would go for 50% on top of regular rate, so I'm charging 40% extra and gonna see how it turns out. Only asked one so far and she seemed cool with the idea. Gets me thinking how smooth it would be if they were all Oct weeklies. Great channel, btw. I don't normally comment but you got top content for lawn stuff! Keep it real like you do.
Silent Sword It's a fantastic plan. You'll be very surprised how many will jump on board when you explain the benefits. Tell them the 50% and let them negotiate to 40 if need be.
That old school edger is bomb man. We have two and the crews fight over who gets to take them out. They take up some space on the truck, but NOTHING edges like those do. Just make sure to change the blade if it starts to wobble/vibrate (gets bent)- if not it will wear out the front beating and belt quickly. Enjoy!
Brent Meister Great, thanks for the info man I appreciate it. I'm excited to use it. The more I look at it I believe you're right, I can tuck it in the corner of my enclosed trailer it's pretty thin.
Looking at this or the bristle version... I'll be doing rock clean up from plowing, maybe "raking" leaves off the lawn, and cleaning road gravel off of our cul de sac. Anyone know how they compare to each other?
Sure hope you charge a good amount for plowing if you go back and fix the stone after the winter. I put in my contracts that damage to driveways, especially dirt and stone, is unavoidable and the customer takes full responsibility for it and does not hold me liable. You're losing money fixing plow damage unless you charged extra for it. Anyway, thanks for the demo. I wondered how that worked. It just looked way to big to be useful, but as you've shown, it is actually VERY useful and I will now be adding it to my list of must-haves for my business.
That's the only thing I don't look forward to every spring, Cleaning up from plowing, But if you want to plow, you got to clean up at the end of the season. Its in all my contracts that we clean up from plow damage. That's how you keep good customers.
Ralph Swartz Exactly and allot of guys around here don't do it or charge a high price when they're the ones that did the damage. Shitty business in my opinion
I usually use a leaf blower for the rocks. I don't have many jobs like that to do. Would like to try one of those. Looks quicker then the leaf blower. Were getting hit with snow right now, so I won't be going out for a while still.
I just leveled a part of my driveway with a skid steer, digging into a hill to expand my parking area. Below was pretty soft dirt. I laid 5/8ths minus on it, but there are some areas that are very soft, as in if i step in it my foot sinks like its in mud. I've tamped it and everything. Are there any suggestions as to how i can remedy this?
I found it easier to rotate the gear and pull it backwards, use the strap over the shoulder, gives you more pull power. Agreed, going forward kicked my butt.
Mine came spinning the opposite way than the way it spins in this video, I have to pull mine. It is VERY easy But I also stepped in a hole that i didn't see and rolled my ankle. It was still worth it

JohnDeere50d No I don't charge. It's my fault, I put it there. Some guys leave the damage and it's shitty business in my opinion but they usually don't keep their customers long.
I use my echo just like you are, locked on the hip and push. Looks like I am at least 2 weeks out yet 5 inches of snow on the ground and still coming down. Supposed to get 8 to 14 inches in the next 2 days.
Taboo P it's one day a year, that would be a very foolish business move financially. If it was a more regular thing throughout every single year then yes I would already own a Dingo. I've used them all and the Dingo is where my money would be.
I saw the rake on the truck as you pulled out of your driveway. When you said you’d forgotten it I was shouting at the screen! Does that brush head do much damage to lawn turf? It looks very aggressive. I was curious if it could be used for removing dead moss from a lawn.
NOW are you sure we're done with snow? I am hesitant about starting spring clean ups. Lol 🙂I was going to be a wiseguy and suggest flipping the thing for pulling, but read through comments and saw a couple others beat me to it. Lol. I have the same tool and was wondering how well it would really work on the grass. Really like how it didn't tear it up but cleaned it really well. Thanks for showing that.
Always good to see a new video my man. Do you always work solo? Also, you seem to have a bunch a cool stuff in the garage, can you do a garage tour one of these days, I'm setting up my shop and looking for new ideas and tools
I have the 110 n I flipped the head the other way n make the stone come towards me instead of pushing away. Down side you get dirty from flinging the dirt n mud at ur feet but the benefit is that you don't have to keep lifting the own machine up everytime you can just give it gas n the broom will drive itself. But either way it still needs to be manhandled n still a workout
It should be take the paddles off n the two flaps then 2 screws to loosen them up then flip the head around if it's like the one I have. I always say it's at least worth a try haha
It’s a work out because you’re doing it wrong, kinda lol. When going backwards don’t pick it up, leave the broom on the ground and just tap the trigger and let it walk itself backwards. 100x’s easier on the old body. Oh, and play with it upside down as well. Sometimes it’s easier to draw it to you than push away.

Just got mine today and the first thing I did was pull the guard off and turned it upside down. Did a 3 foot deep ditch 100 foot long without breaking a sweat. Best moneybi spent in a long time
Also I run mine almost always upside down. There is enough down pressure with how heavy it is to still work great. Much much easier to work for long periods of time upside down

Flash Lawn Service KM131R, it just came out this year

The best solution, a solid base of millings ON TOP of mirafide
I found it easier to rotate the gear and pull it backwards, use the strap over the shoulder, gives you more pull power. Agreed, going forward kicked my butt.
You're right that works great. The strap isn't gonna increase pulling power, that's what muscle is for. Inanimate objects can't increase power lol

Randy,
You really should look into a wheel kit for that paddle attachment.it makes it much easier on you and the power head on the machine
It's not that bad and I only use it in spring
Could you use this to remove small clumps of grass from snow plow damage?
Probably

Yup
