Going for temples means a slower feudalism and apadana is useful to him because it allows him to stack all his relics in the capital, giving him the largest bonus from the moksha promotion that provides science and culture from faith.

It's worth it if you're buying a lot of tiles in a single turn. It's not worth keeping it in all the time though and he was mostly buying tiles every turn. There's always a trade off since you could have another card in instead of the 20% discount tile card.
@@Vitamindmilk he goes into a buying spree a few times in the video, yet he never seems to slot it even when the chance to swap it arises, hence the question if it was worth it (seems like it is not).
What do you think about Mont St Michel here in CPL? Is it good for the slots like Apadana for Poland? Could you just farm your religous units with an ally for infinate relics?
27:09 Why did you place the gov plaaza on the 2/2 and not on the 1/3 ? It saves a chop near your cap and a +3 campus. And you can get higher adjacency on districts from B2. It's not criticising, I just want to know your viewpoint.
You're correct about the fact that putting the gov plaza there would've probably been slightly better than where I ended up putting it. However, it wouldn't have saved a chop - I'd still be removing a woods tile either way. My entire thought process for putting the gov plaza there was for it to be next to the harbor I was planning to put in my capital. Harbor adjacency is actually fairly important, as the Free Inquiry golden age dedication provides science equal to harbor adjacency, and the shipyard building provides production equal to its harbor's adjacency. However, was this really the optimal plaza spot? Probably not, for the reasons you stated.
@@HersonCiv does the chops in the first ring of a city give more prod than second ring chops? I remember hearing this from somewhere but i don't know anymore

I got a (two) questions about the whole Ranked Ladder situation and how allying can be beneficial. So I assume having up to two allies is the best, and then working together to get place 1 2 and 3 in the lobby? So even if you aren't doing well yourself, you can still leech a high lobby placement by allying someone who is likely to take first place in the lobby correct? Could you have just run the same game without those allies or were they actually one part of how you were able to run away with Poland here?
Allies in the game are less about actually working together and more of a courtesy optimization. A lot of bonuses are available to international trade with an ally, there is also an inspiration for allying with someone. While they are allies in name they are still competing with each other and therefore will never go out of their way to protect anothers city or anything like that.

I like most of the changes. Civs "evolving" is nice too, it just bothers me that egypt can evolve into mongolia and such. If they pulled that off with historical accuracy like gaul -> holy roman empire -> prussia/france/germany for every civ it would be sick
i dont play multiplayer civ yet so i don't know how it works in the cpl, but is there a 'standard' to lobby settings or you can change freely? i usually just see small changes in your videos, and idk if its something thats just uncommon in higher level lobbies
CPL has players vote on a game's settings prior to the start of the game. These settings include things like the map type, whether or not barbarians are enabled, the disaster level, civ bans, and more. The host of any given game can also have their own "host rules", which must be clearly stated prior to the start of the game settings vote. Host rules often encompass things like goodie hut frequency and the types of city states that can appear in a game. For instance, this game had the host rules: "2x huts, no pangea, 3 blue city states max"
Banking a favor for a later game or paying for a previous favor. Civ 6 multiplayer is a relatively small community, and the players see each other a lot.
The standard settings for BBG used in CPL FFA games give your capital city a 3-1 center when settled on flat tiles and a 2-2 center when settled on hills. This has not changed any time recently

Unlocking temples for Great work slots: 🙅
Building Apadana for Great work slots: 🧐
It's because temples do nothing for his game plan. One wonder is easier for the strat than 3 districts and 3 buildings that otherwise do nothing.
I mean it’s smart, because it’s also just a REALLY good wonder, especially when he needs Kandy as fast as possible so the envoys are really useful.
pretty sure it ruins the tempo from the early feudalism + monumentality if he goes for Theology/temple first

I am not very experienced with district discount. Why you delayed comm hub technology to discount comm. hub? Or did tou do it to discount campus?
he delayed it to build a gov plaza so that the next comm hub will be discounted
@@trainspower2236 But why cant you research comm hub and discount it later, after finishing gov plaza?
there is a video guide about district discount on his channel, you can search it
