Interesting. I had the same issue with my old Samsung Galaxy A5 in 2017-18. When i was receiving a call sometimes the phone wouldn't do shit even when lying next to the other device. But no issues with calls going out .The Exynos modem should be the problem here as it was bad in general and had poor signal strength, sometimes showing EDGE in areas where other phones were on 4G. Btw Tensor SOCs are modified Exynos, so...

First half of the video you highlighted several pros of the pixel, yet you returned it. At 6:23, you stated you returned it for two main reasons: the performance hangups during games that are "not prevalent" and "not happening all the time," and for the pixel being 0.3 inches smaller than the Galaxy A53. Apparently, two negligible reasons is enough to return a phone. Keep in mind the occasional hiccups could be potentially be fixed in software updates. The whole idea of gaming on a phone is asinine, as we use way more important tasks on phones and gaming consoles will always be superior to mobile gaming, but I digress. It makes absolutely no sense that you bought the Pixel to to try out a smaller phone to see if you like it, yet you know you already preferred the slightly larger size of the Galaxy A53. I was expecting you to a drop a bombshell of reasons why you returned the phone, but of course the title was just to catch my attention into watching, and in reality you returned a phone for a couple of nitpicks. This video is just more overly dramatic clickbait that RUclips does not need.

He is more saying that the phone is a great choice for some people but the device is not for him and so that is the reason he is returning it. He tried it and didn't like it. Doesn't seem like a huge issue to me.

The smaller screen size is the best feature upgrade over the Pixel 7 IMO. The 8 feels better in the hand again, the 7 was too big. My partner also agrees. Not sure why you wouldn't get the 8 Pro in the first place if you prefer bigger screens (likewise, I refuse to buy a Pro model mainly because of the size).

In my opinion, 6.1 to 6.2" is the perfect screen size because it isn't too big or small. I don't like the trend of tablet sized phones because they are simply too heavy and bulky. I do love the Pixel setup, but I do think for them to be considered a major phone brand they need to discontinue the Exynos variant Tensor chips. Each year performance is a downside..I will say this years Pixel 8 series looks like it improved in alot of ways. Plus it always seems to take a year for Google to stabilize the performance for some reason. Which I heard was also true on the a53 too. What sums up Google and Pixels for me is so much potential. But until they put a better processor in their phones I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable buying one again. Which is a shame because Pixels do have the best android setup.

Great detailed video. I got Pixel 8 256GB for just CAD 3.33 per month for 24 months with $45 plan so technically I got this device for less than CAD 100. I upgraded from OnePlus 7 Pro that I bought in 2019 although the Pixel UI is great and smooth the screen size feels small and like you mentioned do not enjoy the device. I still pick my OP7 Pro and it still feel like a damn awesome phone. I'm also thinking to return it and go For Pixel 8 pro but that would be significantly expensive at around CAD 800.
Now I don't want to pay such amount for the hardware these pixel devices got (not at all comparable to SD 8gen 2 let alone upcoming 8gen 3). OP12/ 12R is around the corner but their software experience is no where they used to be couple of years ago. I don't want to go Apple as well. Feels like I'm kinda forced to use P8 now.
    Your thoughts?
    Thanks

I now got the Pixels 8 with 60 GB Data plus 5 G and with my Tab it costs $56 a month. Only $12 more a month with Extra Data with 5 G. But I can't get 5 G just anywhere I live. @@TechLoverforever313 exactly I've read that the A52S was far better than the a52 and the a53 so based on that information he's stating that the a53 is a better machine in the pixel 8 which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever because it has a slower processor and has less RAM it's just it's worse in every single way possible I'm not saying it's a bad phone for the price if you get it on a sale not bad but my general advice to people who are trying to get phones is this If you can get it at a good price on the used market for an older flagship you'll typically get a better experience and better hardware and still better software now if you go online and get the Pixel 7 let's say for I got mine I ordered it I haven't had it yet but I ordered it it's $303 used the 256 GB storage model that's an insane deal on the other hand if you want to get the Galaxy s 21 plus I've seen it online for 250 ish dollars that's insane deal it's still incredible phone works good the cameras are incredible I buy and I sell food used phones so I've had my experience with the Galaxy s21 Galaxy s20 Plus Galaxy s21 FE Galaxy s21 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Galaxy S9 S9 Plus I have had experience the Google Pixel 4A Google Pixel 5 so when he sits here in quotes about the a53 which is a worse phone than the A52S It makes no absolutely no sense to me especially when he's comparing it to a pixel 8 now mind you I haven't tested the pixel 8 but the pixel 5 in my opinion is a very well-rounded phone The pixel 4a I'm using it right now to type using just my voice and it's incredibly accurate I can talk as fast as I want and it still does it so the pixel 5 the pixel 6 that pixel 7 I don't know to me it just sounds like he's not done his research

Somewhat annoyed by some of the comments on here. This is a good, honest review. For example, a guy (especially a big fellow like Chris) can indeed find a phone too small while still appreciating how small phones easily fit in a pocket.
Of course, not all the comments are annoying and some contain valid points.

Iphone 15pro max being compared to pixel 8. You are off your rocker. The price difference alone should be a reason those two are never compared. The pixel 8 pro would have solved your little nitpicks. You kept comparing to bigger screen phones. This was a grab video saying you returning the phone and then only saying nice things. You don't want to alienate any fan bases. Gl2u in your future vids.

Want a bigger photo get the pro. I don't get it. Funny my friend complains so much about his iphone and tried my pixel 8 pro and really likes my phone better than his. Also android has more update hardware than the iPhone. I don't find this review helpful at all. Especially with Samsung with so much added 3rd party software being why i switched to a pixel. I definitely would pick a Samsung or pixel over the performance of an iPhone.

@@thechristaft I would say though that the title is a bit clickbatey. Even though it is true and you did give your reasons for returning, my immediate thought when I saw the title was "omg is there something wrong with the phone" and instead it ended up being for personal preferences (and slightly lower performance that I've seen other reviewers mention too). I think this is also why people left the dislikes. But hey it got the views. :)
