As previously mentioned, I'm on a hiatus for the month of January, so I'll just be re-releasing some of my multi-part videos each Monday until February.
Hey Mangg, I don't want to bug you, just telling you that I hope you have a great vacation buddy!
Enjoy your rest, your previous videos will keep me entertained during work for a while. Thanks for the amazing content!
Enjoy your break thanks for the upload take it easy I hope you’ll have an awesome day same to everyone else here.

I hope the Foundation eventually makes technological breakthrough to seek out the utopian humans, and make them pay for their atrocities
Humans are space orcs after all.
Tbh this sounds like something the 3 moons initiative would do / have done. They’ll pay in the afterlife for sure.
now THAT is a fight i'd like to see!@@vortexlegend101
@@vortexlegend101it's a massive shame that more works haven't expanded on them, they are such an interesting group with little content
Make it a tale, three moons initiative and the foundation go after the bad guys
I think the most shocking part about this story is that 05 council members go and see movies
I know right
Lol, that's so funny but true.
Even heavily anomalous people need hobbies
Imagine going and seeing the emoji movie or something and just seeing 05-1 just there, eating popcorn.
The planet of eyes, the planet of skin, the planet of hands, the real horror is being from the central planet: the planet of souls.

I'd imagine Lionel Ritchie can do better than that backstreet trash
1:11:51 when Proteus asked why must he pay the price I teared up a bit. In the midst of all that solemn acceptance of fate, there is such a genuine, human vulnerability there. Like an abused child asking why must they be punished for something they are at no fault for.
It's also such a terrible thing to indoctrinate a person into.
No, a single person experiencing infinite good isn't worth it, because there is no such thing. And the state of the worst-off is also important to consider.

@@Nebukanezzer They’re like reality-warping CEOs.
@@NebukanezzerAgreed.
Further, the capacity for a human to experience "infinite good" is itself not an infinite capacity. We are made from the endless struggle of survival. Never in our genetic lineage has a single individual lived only under pleasure and enjoyment. Even the most decadent, hedonist cultures and people can not avoid some pains or inconveniences. Even in the fantastical technological realms like the SCP universe, humans as we would know them do not possess the depth of existence to know an infinite paradise.
The very things which humans can pride themselves for were forged in the fires of survival. These "transcendent" humans are self-centered hedonists; above all else, their perfect existence must be preserved.
This SCP inverts the usual application of "few for the many" trope.
In other instances it's class D or another group that the agents of normalcy are willing to sacrifice so that foundation and humanity can survive.
It's cool to see it from their perspective on a cosmic scale.
its "many for a few" as most of humanity suffers for the utopia only very few can enjoy
Also D class are not randoms but usually criminals of some sort
@@konoskubos1641 They are not just criminals of some sort but people on death-row who were set to be executed anyway but are being repurposed to contain anomalies.
It always cracks me up how Proteus keeps bitching about his fate when the other guy got the Planet of *SKIN*. I feel living without hands is a slightly better fate than living without skin.
As funny as the way you worded that is, I totally agree. Losing your hearing or even your sight seems like the best option though. It's hard to do much of anything without your hands. Skin though... that's the ultimate form of suffering I feel like.
gonna get sand all up in your tendons
@@connor48880 Nooooo!
agreed. one of my deepest and darkest fears is being flayed alive. i would rather burn or drown or be bled out or literally any other form of death. it can take *hours* to die from being flayed. and the entire time youre just in god awful agony
@@tribbybueno agreed! I was going to say, to comfort you, that flaying someone alive, while extremely terrifying, is also highly improbable (it's just about always done postmortem) because the victim will move way too much (because of the pain) for it to even be possible...
But then my imagination kicked in and I just thought that it'd be totally doable if you were paralyzed first by an injection...
Damn. Reading that YT comment took me down to such a dark place. Amnestics, someone, prompto!

Its been years since TES has taken a noticable break, even when sick. So good for you Mang, you deserve it for your work ethic is terrific. I bet if people didn't ask the same stupid questions you've already answered, everytime like 'durp, what music do you like?' Doing an annual Q&A isn't worth the hassle.
My ears thank you for saying zero zero one, since O isn't a number.
Hope you and the kitties are well
ttfn
Why is this so funny?
@@Arwcwb it twas the ta ta for now i believe lol
@@wargpug6084 wtf
I feel the same way "O" isn't a number so for him to say "zero" the right way is a lot better to hear. I'm glad he knows how to articulate words in such a manner, I do enjoy his videos, they are very informative about the SPC and everything and them and the anomalies.
Oh 5 council
I've re-watched "past and future" and "project palisade" so many times, i think they're both awesome. I like when the 05 talks to the guy that ages backwards. His cryptic descriptions of the future make much more sense on the second or third or 50th time hearing it. Enjoy your break Mangg. 😎🖤👍🤘
On that note, is his living in the future limited to a timeline or is he constantly recalling the conversations. Otherwise that conversation took place at the only point in time where it happened. I love the paradoxical aspect.
Project palisades still gives me chills for some reason...such a good scp!
Yeah, they're both Great SCP's that I just recently rewatched. The conversation with SCP-411 is a masterpiece in itself, as the first time, it's just so amazing for the concept and the mystery, the intrigue that's being fed while giving us answers & new information, and it works so well because of the cryptic way the info is revealed...
Cryptic, but not too obscure as to be frustrating and a cheap writing gimmick to artificially prolong the mystery, striking just the right balance of giving us answers to questions we had (or were subconsciously starting to form), and information that hints at what's coming, IS 100% relevant, piques pur curiosity, but is carefully dosed as to stay very limited, a very small part of the exchange, to keep a good balance between everything: trying to figure out what's going on, following the backwards conversation, staying fully immersed in the moment, in that scene, by avoiding an overflow of information, giving us a few answers that also contribute to the world building, and a few drops of new, strange elements that stimulate our imagination and push our puzzle solving instincts.
When you come back to this Story, this part is just so much more delightful because you can focus and appreciate even more the flow and how everything holds up together so well!
But there are also many other Story elements, Layers (and this one has MANY!), that reveal themselves and can be explored each time you revisit. The Author's Influences, the Themes and trying to decipher his Message behind all this (because the story has so many complex moral elements, there are multiple points to consider, and it's hard to really tell if some things are there on purpose or not, wether they were included simply to serve the story or to introduce a deliberate Theme... What I'm saying is that sometimes, it's hard to tell if some Themes were included willingly or if it's your social context and cultural knowledge that allow you to see those Themes while they weren't meant to hold any true meaning.)
All in all, it's a pretty damn disturbing Story, very evocative, with wonder and beauty in it, but also an almost overwhelming darkness. I think that the deeper you dwelve into some Themes (such as the meaning of Suffering in Life), the harder it hits. That's why this time, it's had a much more intense effect on me than the first.
I work for Amazon and listened to this again while delivering. Suffering unfairly for others to be happy that apparently love and appreciate my efforts is literally my whole damn job.
We do appreciate you...as long as you dont steal our packages
Hey the exploring series, hope you have a great time on your break. Thank you for always posting great content for us to enjoy.
This SCP proposal reminded me vividly of this short story, "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas From The Wind's Twelve Quarters: Short Stories by Ursula Le Guin". Basically, a utopian society is built on the premis that one child must always be kept in darkness and filth, and as long as that child is continuously abused and suffering, the utopia thrives. Everyone knows about the child and has to live with that knowledge as they enjoy the perfect world, but every once in a while, someone who learns this secret just cannot bear it so they choose to leave instead. Another very bittersweet ending.
Wasn't it implied in _Omelas_ that the kid didn't actually _have_ to be tortured to maintain the utopia, but they just threw it in because the audience couldn't accept the idea of a utopia that _doesn't_ have some horrible catch to it?
@@spongeintheshoeif that's the case can't you just tell people there's a kid being tortured without actually doing it
@@alienbastard55 Maybe the narrator did just that.
this reminds me of a story of a utopian city powered by the suffering of one singular person, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas I think
Every needs a break every now and then, but if you notice that there's no end on the road you are traveling, and that you aren't getting hungry or thirsty while driving, don't forget to try and have a good time.
Well said.
Plot twist and reveal here is so freaking insane that this became probably my favorite scp on this chanel
Here's my comment from the original part 2 video:
This gave me an existential crisis. So many twists and revelations. Just incredible.
Now for my thoughts on this video where both parts are combined:
This is a good way to re-release past videos. I listened to this back around when it came out and it's been so long that I only remember bits and pieces, so I can enjoy it again. I still feel the same way that I wrote about in the comment, and the article is very well written and honestly beautiful. In a depressing and harrowing sort of way.
I hope you're having a wonderful break because you totally deserve it!
this is kinda like the story The ones that walk away from Omelas, where the ones that walk away have seen the kid that was sacrificed for the city so Omelas could mantain the utopia, the ones that walk away couldnt stand that that one child must suffer so they can live peacefully, other choose to remain on the city, knownly or without knowledge of the kid
Just what I needed to get my through this shift. Your timing is perfect as usual.
*OH BOY! IT’S....2PM!!??*
I've tried to read "Past and Future" a few times, and I just couldn't get it. So thank you for helping me to understand what was really going on!
Rest up, sir! We all know you deserve a break. Thank you for what you give to us all!
Kind of wondered what would happen if the foundation tossed SCP-610 into the doorway. I'm sure the utopia would be pissed at the results.
if possible i'd like to think there was a timeline where they tossed every scp they had through the doorways as a final fuck you. I mean they have to contain them to protect humanity, and since they're fighting humanity just release everything that could harm humanity into it.
@@peachibread1983 since they are enhancing and making anomalies more dangerous tossing these upgraded anomalies through the portal would absolutely devastate them.
@@Omega_A3 lessgo!
Who's to say they don't have the means to neutralize it? or neutralize any anomaly for that matter, they did just that with SCP 2317 acording to the table on the article (the devourer, that the summary states is no longer a threat to consensus reality), and also nerfed 294 (the coffee machine, that now can only dispense coca-cola products and hurts the company's share if you request anything other than their products)
@@RaveNinja1401 the foundation does also have the ability to neutralize many anomalies that pose a greater threat and are way harder to deal with the then ones that scp-001 messed with. The foundation just chooses to contain them then deal with the problems neutralizing them might cause. The foundation would be more than capable to go to war with SCP-001 but the biggest issue is how does the foundation reach them. SCP-001 can mess with them by altering anomalies but that's all they can really do meanwhile the foundation can easily weaponize nearly any anomaly at their disposal. In the case of this canon SCP-001 is safe from the foundation purely because the foundation can't reach them.
"an immune system response with the potential of a real future."
As always the scp world is wonderfully filled with "potential."
Thanks for the post of the story, awesome as always...,.
Bittersweet ending. Love the subtle class warfare influences.
Oh yeah the quote at the end of the scp. Havent seen that in a while. I always liked it!
I look forward to your videos every time! I knew nothing about the SCP Universe until I happened across one of your videos a couple of years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. Your timing and rhythm in the storytelling, coupled with such an excellent narration voice, make these as good as a movie if I just close my eyes and visualize while you talk, and if I need some inspiration I just take a peek at the screen.
Thanks for doing these! Keep it up!👍👍💯
If he decided to read the phone book it would probably still be great!
Same here. Somehow autoplay landed me on "what happened to sight 13?" I caught it maybe halfway in and had to restart it because I was so interested.... then it was the boneyard and then the red sea object.... as bad as things may be, people are also capable of amazing things. So glad I found this channel
@Jerrod Bates right?! I was captivated by SCP from the start, but I was so impressed by the quality of his videos that I didn't even visit the SCP wiki for the first six months😂
@@M33f3r Thank you for giving me a good laugh.
I eagerly await your return ^-^ you've given me so many a good nights rest with these scp readings, and your choice in which ones to read never fails to amaze me, you have good taste :)

Enjoyed countless hours of yours, thank you for all and take care! :)
Anybody else giggle a bit when they heard that full scale anomalies resumed in 2016? That 100% tracks.
Lands on the planet of hands: "this sucks"
Learns there's a planet of skin: "what a wonderful place we live on!"
Ok, I think I get it (maybe). the man at threshold exists in the Tower of unfulfilled bad ideas, the MTF team finds it, and it memetically affects the squad, making them sacrifice themselves and causing the Bad Idea to manifest in reality. However in order for the system to manifest fully it needs humanity as a whole to move onto the planet of hands, as without them it's system still remains "uncompleted". Destroying the Tower at the end, which was "anchoring" the utopians to our reality until they could be completed, unmoores them from our reality and leaves them permanently unfulfilled. I think.
The whole "humanity came from the planet of hands" is just the retroactive justification for the system in order to properly manifest. "It was in the man at the threshold so it has to be this way in reality to make it completed" essentially. (It's basically pulling a Chronicles of the Daeva)
If you do requests, I'd love an Exploring Series based on Dungeons and Dragons. There's a new movie coming out along with a tv show, so a lore series based on D&D would be great.
Hey bud if you like that kinda content I would recommend Mr Rhexx if you haven't already checked him out
Thank you TES I am sick right now and desperately needed a new video to fall asleep to. Love your content!
im so sad, this is the first time this has happened in over a year of watching your videos. it took me all week to get to this, ive just been really depressed and also been sick. everytime i saw the video on my homescreen or in my recommended i just thought, "i cant watch this when im like this, i wont appreciate it as well as i should". idk if you get this enough man, i try to comment as much as i can and i retweet when i see your tweets too but, youre awesome. thank you so much for working as hard as you do, loving and respecting the content as much as you do too. you help me forget that life fucking sucks for hours at a time and not much or many people can do that, so thank you. i hope your new years and holidays were amazing.
I commend you, the lengths you go to to make this all as one part inspite of certain restrictions is astonishing. Plus you have an amazing sense or taste of choosing far out interesting scps, not just the usual ones. Thank you, this made more interested in certain scps that are beyond human scope, be it outer space, dimensional incursion, alternate reality, Pataphysics and many more. Plus the sheer amount off mentioned scps to learn of here is like a garden of eden.
I just read the pinned comment on this video and before I read it I kept saying to myself I know I'm not crazy I know I've heard or watched this particular scp-001 story narrated by you I thought I was going crazy LOL
It's crazy that it was 2 years ago. I'm glad though because I only remember bits and pieces of it so I can enjoy it again.

Those things are not human - they are so far beyond the bounds of sanity and reason the mind rebels and so gives them human attributes to save itself.
Have a great break Mangg! Can't wait for birb SCPs when you get back!
Note something important: those that are not using their hands to sacrifice by decent works but instead use their hands to do wicked things are sent and dismembered for their abuses to another world as they are incapable of thinking of themselves as unworthy, hypocrites are disgusting.

01:11:53 No. The answer is NO. The question is based on an absurd premise given that the opposite of that question (should one person suffer so that many can experience infinite good), provides MORE good, and arguably, even if ONE person had to suffer for many to experience a hypothetical, *infinite* good, it is one too many.
Always very nice and cool thanks from portugal great work love the Channel
Good with me this is one of my favorites! I got a full work week of binge listening saved up anyways lol
Shout out to ES been watching a few years and it's great what this has done for scp
If they demand attention-energy just interdict them, abstain from giving them and ignore their demands while seeing them starve, if they react nastly just come with a bigger power to stomp them out! Keep the Faith! They rely alot on deceit and scare tactics, also it is too absurd to abandon this planet which is quite experienced and awesome for new generation of helpers to be teached and instructed. The kids are ready for the classes, but the teachers need places to teach accordingly to their unusual awesome masteries!
Attention-energy is the only thing that makes the core of this entry make sense. It sounded like it was in part population control, but why bring Earth’s humans back if that were solely the case.
Damn this one is fire 🔥 You find some really great ones
pretty heavy stuff here.....Also good on you for taking a break! :)

Ah man, this is one of my favorites. Glad you introduced me to this one.
Past and Future is one of the best things I've read to come out of the SCP Foundation, and that's high praise.

So your telling me right now that the scp foundation is incapable of space travel in the timeline? But they can like keep different dimensional beings in a 10 by 20 cubed room?!? Lol but it’s fine though at least it’s only in this timeline
Supernatural Space 1984, really good.
I always assumed that that Aurillio's act disproved the perfection of the utopia, somehow stripping them of their god-like powers becuase all of them were implied to be a sort of semi-hive mind so disproving and killing one inflicted knowledge of death and the fear of death on all of them reducing them to regular people or at least permanently severing their ability to interfere with Earth.
This SCP-001 Proposal reminds me of the Combine and the Seven Hour War from Half Life 2.
I like to imagine God (hey, you pick yours) speaking through the dying man at the end. "You forsake death, but deaths wisdom is lost to you." They created their own "natural" balance, but it was never natural for man to NOT have an end.
SCP it is an hour and a half long, and I'm only 30 minutes in, so far it's pretty good and I didn't want to shoot a text to you after 9:00 love you I'll take care
My theory on Jackie and Aurelio
The tower is important to the utopian humans for the reason that it's a beacon of unstable reality that they can connect to like a relay. It allows them to control anomalous phenomena, which is why they needed it protected by Monashir. With the destruction of the tower, they lose their ability to magnify anomalous phenomena.
Honestly let's just send them 682 an entire planet of humans that know no suffering sound just up his alley
middle of day upload! ah!
