This article is like none other on the SCP wiki, and I say that with the utmost certainty. It can be taken so many different ways, and they’re all so good. I do have to say, TES, no matter how much love your videos, there was no way you were going to get the full effect of this article by voice alone. Reading through it the first-hell, even the second time, when the formatting was all set up-was something special. One of my favorite details that you missed: each of the sections of the article are written by a pre-existing Foundation staff member with connections to the idea of the universe being fictional. 7. Written by S Andrew Swann, creator of “The Database” proposal for 001, and the first to discover the fictional aspects of the SCP universe. 6. Written by Researcher Talloran, the star of SCP-3999, and the first to combat the one of the entities who write their world. 5. Written by Dr. Panagiotopolous, who has something to do with the Pataphysics department. Their motto is “killing our gods.” 4. Written by Director Menard, another core member of the Pataphysics department. 3. Written by Researcher Smalls, the focus of the documentation for SCP-3309. 3309, for the record, is an expansion on the concept of things in the SCP database being deleted from existence, shown as a article deletion notice. 2. Written by I. H. Pickman, the focus of the “Story of Your Life” 001 proposal. Essentially, it’s an expansion of Swann’s proposal, with some more details and clichés. 1. Written by the Containment Staff for SCP-5000 hey wait a minute that’s not right

I really appreciate what you do, TES. Taking lore and info from a variety of sources and telling it in an easily understandable and peaceful way that makes for great bed time stories. Your videos have become a part of my life now
I was kind of underwhelmed by the explanation at first, but after I thought about it for a while, I thought of a new way of seeing it. TES gets close to saying it in the video, but to me the ultimate idea is that... YOU are SCP-5999. You, the reader, are what is being contained
When he died They found a message etched into his spine That said when he died an endless age of untold nightmares would be nigh And the blood would make the seas run red

I'm still disappointed that my entry didn't come close to winning the contest, but at least I got to see some more meta shit.

Props to Trei for somehow managing to survive contact with the anomaly of the game up until the very end, I like to think they survived to live to an old age. This SCP initially scared me because it detailed events that were clearly, somehow, connected, but kept happening in ways that it seemed, the foundation could not contain. The body was buried, but then the town because an anomaly by itself. The witnesses bodies are burned, but their screams become heard in other places. This Is Where I Died is written in more and more places. Trei is never found, their copy of the game never retrieved, hell, a copy of the game is found in a WW1 trench, long before it should have existed! Cindy straight up leaves the foundation, people keep mysteriously dying. The more you read, the less the anomaly is contained (clever, since we are releasing it), and that was frightening. And then the end part, where a figure attempts to enter our reality, smiling. It is terrifying. This is the first time in my entire memory that reading something has caused me great fear. Kudos to the writer (ahem, sorry, the 05 council) for that. Though, a great shame for them that our reality has a tad more stable physics engine.

I still don't know how to feel about these more story-driven writing styles. While they are obviously well-written and conveys valuable information to keep the SCP headcannon in general going, I miss SCPs that are self-contained, without long logs, stories, and cross-references.
Their motto is “killing our gods.”

It is a bit like 'power-creep' where once you have one SCP that's unfairly packed with a story-worth of information, all the other simple SCPs loses their appeal in comparison, and future authors' hands are 'forced' to comply to this new level of information and length.
Well, for one I just tend to focus on those types as they make for longer videos. And two, the big contest entries are just more likely to have authors go all out in length and complexity.
@@TheExploringSeries Reasonable. I am not saying I don't enjoy these longer, more complex and story-driven SCPs -- That would be lying, I love these.
