096 had a tall order with all other humans, so couldn't keep up.
he was entirely undetectable, he could make eye contact, and I'm pretty sure 096 would not even react
I think that in the original story he just discovered that the foundation had photos of his face and pietro didn't actually see his face
He had the suit on.... That's plenty of reason lol
I think we must take note that despite seeing 096's face, Pietro was not targeted by 096. This probably means that the suit has a fully functional and improved Scrabble goggle.
Or that scp 96 won’t kill something that looks at its face if it can’t properly acknowledge its existence. SCP-5000 keeps living things from acknowledging the person wearing it.
@@Schnoz42069 Or he didn't saw its F A C E.
Because in the official document, Pietro said he just got some information about 096's face posted in social media.
Also, after the foundation started attack on humanity, the internet, radio and television programs had been taken down.
So he might not really saw it, I guess.
i saw a comment explaining how it made it so 096 made it so he knew he had been seen but couldn't perceive where pietro was and so when there was nobody else that had looked at him left he left bawling like in scp 096 vs 682 where he does the same thing because he cant kill 682

He had millions of other people to kill. Maybe he just hadn't gotten around to Pietro yet.

Well, he was really just a pawn of the IT, and is the reason why it's still "alive". Remember, this is a thing so dangerous that the SCP Ethics Committee and the O5 decided killing all of humanity was the more humane solution.
Pietro is sadly the Bad guy here. The foundation losing is the bad ending...
No he's the villain, MVP imo is 682 and 049 for seeing eye to eye with the foundation for once.
Sadly he was a puppet
If this is the case..
Would a concept of an immortal being capable of both pain and death over and over again manage to fuel the anomaly?
Let's say, an anomaly that can die but slowly be revived while feeling pain during revival. And the same anomaly can exist even after death of the universe? The concept of nothingness could cause another Big Bang for all we know.
Pietro: *looks at 096's face*
096: understandable, have a great day
I think it is a loophole in Scp 096 effect it doesn't avoids the effect. Scp-096 cannot find him because it isn't immune to the effect of Scp-5000. That means if he would have taken it of he would be killed by Scp-096.

@@RatchetTheCat about SCP-055... I mean what?
My best guess is that 579 is able to instantly provide the answer to any question or information that someone is seeking without fail when you are in its presence. It makes the most sense to me seeing as the whole story is filled with unanswered questions that are driving the character forward but at the last moment he seems to suddenly understand everything. It would also explain the revert, 055 in the suitcase erases your knowledge of it but given that he had been carrying this hole time and could not know what it was would raise the question in his mind "What's inside here?". So the paradox isn't the 2 SCPs meeting, the paradox is 579 answering something that can't be answered.
That's at least my thoughts on the whole story.
That's a really good theory

"Now tell me, scp 579, what the hell is in this suitcase?"
"Well it isnt round I'll tell you that much"
@@imametal1148 The all-knowable entity has confirmed that SCP-055 is indeed not spherical, however researchers were unable to retain any information of its explanation beyond that. Video and audio recordings of the conversation show only static and no further information about 055 could be extracted
It’s appearance kinda reminds me of the pibby virus a bit. Another theory of mine is that it’s some entity that manages paradoxes. To somehow contain a paradox it needed Pietro to come to its chamber so it can kill him and then send the suit into another universe where it’ll loop around. Using the briefcase thing as fish bait so he can come faster, that explains the briefcases ability to teleport him faster. It might have also made the suit for it to loop around. The timeline goes like this: 05 council turns evil and declares war on humanity, Pietro’s facility is invaded by the ops, he’s forced to put on the suit, he eventually gets to 579’s chamber in that universe, 579 sends the suit back to another universe, that universe’s scientists put the suit on the stand, and repeats at step 1.
Weird that you tried to link SCP-682 with the "disgusting" line but completely missed the SCP-049 parallels.
Talking about "The Cure" and something "inside humanity that must be killed" with the result being "brutal and savage violence".
O-5 might've just found The Pestilence.
if it was that then 049 would not comply with anyone and be more similar to 682 just doctor themed
The pestilence is different, they think of it as a disease
Wait, that actually makes sense. Like what if “it” is free will? I mean the MTF trained against ”it” no longer even seemed to have free will, just following orders with no disregard to human life. And 049 turns its subjects basically into zombies, which technically rids its subjects of free will. Am I crazy or do I have a point??

The scary thing about this story is the strong implication due to the presence and the intent of IT being so terrible, is that, overall, the saving of humanity is a BAD thing.
Could it be that IT is just terrible in itself that it wants to wipe our humanity? Lesser evil I guess?
The thought of the Occult Coalition and The Church of the Broken God collaborating to stop a plague has to be one of the downright scariest scenarios I can think of. The fact that either of those groups are doing anything positive let alone together means the world truly is gone. Terrifying.
It's definitely a 'Godzilla Threshold' situation.

The more I learn about SCP, the more I am fascinated and horrified by it. I am a fan of Warhammer 40k and the grim dark we know and love, but I am more disturbed and intrigued by the SCP universe.
I agree because warhammer 40k is just "everything is evil and hell all of the time" and scp is "...but maybe we can save it"
SCP-049 be like;: "I see you found the plague and now you understand"
that would explain about codeword "cure"
K what if 049 did all this : 46:31 all these directives and stuff were called "the cure" 049 + the cure
Anyone else seeing this?
Oh, that's totally my headcanon now
So meaning, if that's true, O49 is also a hero.
It's plausible, but there is a discrepancy in that 049 comments that the Foundation didn't harbour as many people with the 'pestilence'. So we can't really conclude that the pestilence is the same as the malicious thing that is in humanity's collective conscience.
If I recall, combining these two SCPs not only makes a new universe where it didn't happen (foundation discovering 'it') but I'm pretty sure it also stops it from ever happening again.

agreed.
It's been 2 years, but here's a slight correction that I've seen nobody mention:
According to the SCP file, he didn't jump, land hard, create his last log entry, pass off the briefcase and *then* die.
He knew the height was fatal and that he'd have to throw the briefcase mid-jump after which he'd die from the impact of landing.
So he creates the log *before* he makes the jump where he asks his "Why?" questions, ending the log with "They're about to get in. First foot forward.".
The actual last log during his fall is the "Oh … so that's how it is." after which he impacts the ground and dies.
What's that last line mean?
@@kagemushashien8394 I'm not 100% sure about this, since it's been a long time since I last looked at that story. But if I recall correctly, then it's him realizing the answer to why this is all happening.
I think he's saying that sentence *after* he died, realizing the full extent of what has actually happened with humanity.
That is, that they all suffer for all eternity after they die (due to a psychic parasite that has infected all of humanity).
When he was alive he was clueless, but after his fall and subsequent death, he notices that he still exists and can feel everything.
His "Oh, so that's how it is" is a sobering realization of this.
At least that's how I interpret it.^^
Theory: 'IT' was Hope. Literally. According to the Greeks, Hope was the worst monster of all within Pandora's Box, for it would make you suffer any pain in the name of making things 'better'.
_That’s a cool theory_
Interesting theory, but then why did they train to not feel pain when they were combating 'IT'?
@@stewarthodge7634 How easy is it to voluntarily give up Hope?
@@Phyrior I get what you mean, but is hope just going through pain? because I could experience no pain but hope for other people.
@@stewarthodge7634 'Once you realize you're not supposed to feel pain'. Meaning that pain is a side effect of Hope. To be cured of Hope is to no longer feel pain. It's why the 'cured' researchers and techs had dead eyes, the light of Hope had been extinguished.
They should make this into a movie. I think it'd be big.

RIP Pietro Wilson’s knee, since he never got the suit in the fixed timeline his knee is still twisted
I just realized... this whole story could be A AMAZING GAME!
Picture it with me, you play as pietro. Him escaping the facility at the start is the basic tutotial about Stealth and then Combat with the soldiers.
Then it becames a mixture of Survival Horror and Hack-N-Slash. You survive for yourself in the apocaliptic world while unlocking more skills for the suit.
It would be like playing a Open World DayZ but more scarier and with superpowers. There can be many minions enemies to fight too, like the Pink Flamingos NPCs or the blood dogs (forgot their name). Also the viruses SCPs, as well as the SCP Soldiers, and etc.
We can have many minions mobs for us to fight.
Then theres chapters and build-up, like after seeing Shy Guy in the TV being a foreshadow for in later "chapters" of the campaing you having a boss fight that you must constantly run from him during gameplay at some parts, like a "certain" juggernault in Resident Evil we all know...
Then imagine a part where we gotta take down the leviathan. It would be so nice.
*EDIT:*
Forgot to mention that of course some aspects of the story must be changed for both the games sake and gameplay aspects. For example, in the universe of this game the suit will have to be WAY more busted, so we can take down at least most of these SCPs with enough upgrades.
Maybe have different endings based on what we do like running from the SCPs or trying hard enough to kill them leads to different endings. Something like Undertale too that depending on which SCP you kill or not also affects the ending?
ALSO
The suitcase can be the Fast Travel mechanic.
Or you can make the game with SCP-076 as a protagonist. (Foundation MTF mentions him working with GOC to defend Ganzir.)
@@TV-ej5yr Tbh both ate good main characters and main characters so why not both having their own games?
Or maybe 076 appears as a supporting character in 5000 that you can swap to anytime and follows you or play multiplayer with, like in God of War Ragnarok.
@@wander7812 Pietro doesn't meet with 076.
Because it is not sure what happened to SCP-076 after the destruction of Ganzir.
Forget the open world part, maybe make it kind of a metroidvania (people often forget how hard it is not only to make an open world, but to keep consistency) and I agree it would be awesome, I still don't know how you would mix hack n slash AND survival horror, as, you know, killing invokes power, and power defeats horror, (which is why the best horror games don't let you kill with guns easy, more so slow the enemy or have it as last resort)
Think the forest, once you have a base or good weapons, there goes the horror and only the jumpscares remain

The Earth itself wasn't even the final target of the foundation, the target was the multiverse itself. As long as the council never witnesses True Despair again, SCP 5000 will never happen again.
No, IT wasn't a embodiment of despair, and they weren't controlled by the entity.
The entity is some kind of wicked god or god-like being that leads humanity to the fate worse than death if left unchecked.
It's intentionally undefined but remember: after 05 got rid of IT in them they no longer felt no empathy, no pain and had no hope for humanity.
You could have argued that they were right to fight IT if they tried something else, letting humanity to exist and develop further.
But they didn't care about humanity, with or without emotions. They themselves said about they one soldier they killed that they found the one that is alive.
Considering this set of evidence, it's safe to conclude that absence of IT made them worse from the point of view of life itself. If you are alive - you have a "duty" to stay alive.
I like living things. I don't like dead things or some matter like rocks that were never alive. And if you are alive - you should too.

I think you may have missed that the SCP-5000 tale is a looping story. Pietro's logs in the SCP-5000 suit is what caused him to be the one to escape in the suit. When he was interrogated about the logs and his corpse, he was informed about its existence. This led him to seek it out during the Zeta-19 attack.
Like "IT" restarting the universe is supposed to prevent the XK event but it seems like it is what started it in the first place.
@@kingacrisius that’s what it seems like. This is a subconscious and extra dimensional entity. It may be symbiotically connected to humanity.
good theory, but then what happened during the first timeline? did he just happen to stumble across the suit which created the looping story?
@@flipflopfleee There is no meaningful first, in all likelihood. It's probably a bootstrap paradox.
@@kingacrisius the ck-class event caused by 579 makes it so that the event that led to its union with 055 never happens, so in reality the entity permanently won
It wants the pain. The entity uses humanity like a field to grow its crop. The O5 council discovered this, but this isn't what sent them into omnicide. What isn't mentioned here is that the pain persists after death, and gets worse if the body is cut apart, with each piece experiencing greater pain the smaller it gets. It's implied that those that are cremated experience an absolutely indescribable agony due to the infinitesimal size of the individual's constituent pieces.
Pietro is only a hero in the waking world. In the unconscious world, he has condemned the entirety of human existence to unyielding agony that they won't recognize until it's far too late to do anything.

What the fuck, you have no right to make stuff better than most movies. Thank you, I literally was thinking about this hours after I finished and I’ve started to write my own ideas for anomalies now
Technically if Pietro makes less and less progress when observing the Anti-Meme then technically there is the possibility that if he keeps looking at it then he might get to a point where he can see the Anti-Meme and remember seeing it.
He's making less and less progress and feeling more and more fatigued after each use because the parasitic SCP that the Foundation is trying to eradicate isn't as able to give him as much of a "pep-talk" (27:23 - it's explained more in the actual SCP-5000 article) due to being slowly weakened since all infected humans are being killed off.
It's not that he's becoming immune to SCP-055 "The Anti-Meme" but rather than he's no longer able to enjoy the pep-talks from the parasite SCP, which is trying to keep its presence hidden so only contacts him directly when it knows memory of it will be erased... so he's putting the Anti-Meme back in the briefcase quicker and quicker.

When considering that IT was the one pushing Pietro to do the world reset, Pietro might not have actually saved the world since IT was likely pushing for the world reset because the 05 Council was successfully defeating it, if not at the cost of humanity itself. As such, IT decided to try again by resetting the stage and hoping that next time Project Pteuma wouldn't find it in the next reset to win this time. If IT was something so horrible that genocide of humanity was considered the ethical option, then it must be unfathomably horrific.
@felix that’s the point. We don’t know what IT is. All we know was that it was something that was living inside the collective consciousness of every single human - thus humanity, and that it was so bad that the O5 AND ethics committee agreed that it’d be better to wipe humanity completely.
@@pablito8665A being that can control humanity. And they found out "humanity" isn't free but controlled by something. The ethics here is the value of freedom, probably Idk.

I feel like entity is the "voice in our head" when we talk to ourselves in our minds.
-It's a collective unconscious.
-It speaks in a way that we would recognize as ourselves.
-We sometimes use it to determine whether or not we want to be positive or negative.
-It coincides with our fight or flight response (Like ow, this hurts, run. Or ow, this hurts, fight back.)
-It's a dangerous SCP that's been right under our noses, hence why they were soo scared about it in the first place.
I've read the good declassify stuff on Reddit and that's just my interpretation of it. I only thought of it that way, because I noticed that my "inner voice", was the only thing I could hear as I read everything. If that makes sense.
Unless the inner voice is already an SCP.
Note: Still fairly new to this SCP stuff. But man this is a cool lore driven universe.
What is the "declassified reddit stuff"?I also haven't been paying that much attention,& so much of it is too extensive to really dive into it without messing up my already weird schedule (I'm having enough trouble keeping up with minecraft mods and DnD,can't do SSCP aswell.)
@@chee.rah.monurB It's "Declassify", and it's just a Reddit thread where a fan broke down the story and revealed some answers to the audience. According to the author of the SCP-5000 story, a majority of it was right. Though there are still some unanswered questions.
To be frank, that night of when I wrote my original comment, I spent a few hours reading the story and reading the "Declassify". The world of SCP isn't my forté either, but if you budget your time, you can find a decently sized read.
