  • Busy June day on the flower farm. Join flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery at Common Farm Flowers between fashionable Bruton and up-and-coming Wincanton as she fulfils orders for 20 different buckets of flowers for three different events and then cuts for her own floristry commissions, a series of posies for a dinner party, and a huge gift bouquet.
    Stay tuned to the end when the posies are made and the big bouquet is created.
    Enjoy!

    I think of all those flowers in your bouquets, my fave is the globe thistle - I love the mauve colour and the lollipop shape. Here in Oz, we have a similar native flower called the Pincushion Hakea - except it's red instead of mauve - and it's also like spiky floral fireworks.

    • @theflowerfarmer

      I'm no expert on your zone but would have thought roses would survive your winter in a sheltered spot and give you a short but glorious flowering season x

    • @theflowerfarmer
      @theflowerfarmer  Год назад +1

      awful truth is sometimes I forget to put it on! if I turn my back speaking I try and say whatever it is again as I turn round - I know my RUclips channel is a bit rough around the edges but time is short and I can only film what I'm actually doing as I do it and there's v little time for editing - I hope it's not too awful xxx

    So lovely! I have a question Georgie with these kinds of giant bouquets, how do you balance between you as a grower (if I cut this hard into a plant I won't be able to use several smaller stems off of it) and you as a florist (yay, long stems, I can make beautiful decadent arrangements)? Are there times when you feel this tension or is that only a problem in my imagination?

    • @lydiabeek114
      @lydiabeek114 Год назад +1

      PS I wouldn't mind the bouquet-making sections to be a little slower, to enjoy the arranging :)

    • @theflowerfarmer

      lol - I don't know how to make it slower on the speed up thing - I am no technical whizz kid - this clip making business of mine is really as basic as it can get with a phone turned sideways and off we go x
