In this LeatherSeats.com Tech Tips Video we cover the process salvaging the factory seat heaters when we re upholster the seats in a Hummer H2. All Hummer H2s came with factory leather upholstery and a lot of them came with seat heaters. The factory seat heaters in the H2 are sewn into to leather upholstery so when we install our leather kit, we have to cut them out and glue them directly to the seat foam. The process is fairly straightforward and if you follow the steps in this video, it should be fairly easy. You will need a razor blade (for cutting the stitching), scissors (for trimming the seat heaters when attaching them to the foam), and spray adhesive/upholstery glue which we offer on our website: www.leatherseats.com/shop/ins....

Would something like this be possible for tansfering the heating/cooling element from a '15-'17 Mustang Premium to the OEM Recaro seats?
how the heck are we supposed to determine to positive and negative of the new heated seat elements? The plus do not match and positive and negative are not marked in any way.
Michael Guy This video shows the transfer of the factory seat heaters, not new heater elements. Once mounted back onto the seat foam, the wire harnesses on the pads just plug back into the receivers exactly how they were before. We do also offer an aftermarket seat heater kit that use it's own integrated wiring harness and switchs. Can I just send you my 2006 Hummer h2 seats and have you replace them and put NEW heater pads in? Stock... color other than that and min are black.
Michael Guy We would not recommend sending your seats in. This kind of installation is typically done by an automotive upholstery in your area. Would your H2 seat covers fit the 06 silverado seats? I like the H2 seat covers better than the silverado
All Wackos Our upholstery patterns are developed off of the factory cloth pattern from the OEM seat for each particular vehicle. Cross compatibility between patterns is uncommon and we do not typically modify the seat designs. My '03 has heated seats too. Is something different or was it just a typo on the title?
NotsoJoe Rogan I can see how our title creates confusion for the 2003 model. The 04-06 models have slightly different rear seats, which is the year range our video features, however, the front seats are the same from 03-06. This process for transferring seat heaters is the same as the 2003 model. Thank you for checking with us!
