I'm glad I learned the leaking problem fix. I haven't bought an H2 yet but I plan on it soon. The only thing I would recommend is to use 100% silicon. The stuff you are using with just flake off after it dries.
Great Video - shows how easy this fix is! For those needing it, recommend take out the six more star bolts, remove the side rail and do the rear at the same time. Makes the cleaning part way easier! Thanks for posting!
I would suggest "Butyle Tape". It's a tarry substance, like playdough that you can shape into a snake and put into that hole. I also use it under the marker lights as you may have to change the light bulbs sooner or later and it is easy to remove (like playdough) It's also amazing at keeping a water tight seal. The foam under the marker lights tend to leak as well over time as they get brittle. Everytime you change the bulbs, just add another round snake of butyle tape. There is also a common leak to the front passenger floorboard coming from under the wiper cover. It's a little door where the silicone gets old and leaks. Keep hummin!
Greetings from the Far East I’ve had same vehicle since I was 25. While holding my hummer for a long period, sometimes I search hummer fixing videos and now I’m here. Few years ago, I had water leak problem on the top marker lamp which I usually call it as a tiara. My mechanic solved the problem like that. Although good mechanics are nearby, I feel fun to diagnose and to fix my own car. Please update your hummer fixing videos so that I can run my hummer for long time. It’s my arc of my twins for outdoor activities. Of course I did subscribe. See you next time.
Greetings, very glad that you enjoyed our video! Unfortunately, this Hummer was sold before we could make any more videos, but we may get another one in the future! Thank you for subscribing, and good luck on your Hummer repair adventures!
Ouick question, im about to do this for my H2 but how did you do the middle ones since the cover is attached to the bulb cover. And sticks to the paint.
I had a terrible time keeping the wire/grommet down in the hole so ended up using QTY: 2 Q-tips with one side inside the grommet holes and then I bent the other side bent under the light housing frame provided the perfect downward pressure to keep the grommet in place. I just let the Q tip stay in there and it all dried up real nice and tight..
Hi Shela, I am not sure. See, we recondition then sell used vehicles. This one was sold years ago. However, you should stick with the manufactures' recommended viscosity for your transfer case. Brands may or may not matter. Check out @ProjectFarm for any vids comparing fluid brands. Hope this helps! Thanks for posting.
Thanks Antony, and you got it! We used Dap Kwik Seal Plus silicone sealant, here is the link: www.dap.com/products-projects/product-categories/caulks-sealants/latex/kwik-seal-plus/
Hi there! I wasn't sure what kind was used but did a little research and it looks like a good option is a T10 amber halogen bulb. I believe they can be bought with the housings or separately: I was able to find several kits on eBay and Amazon, but it seems harder to find just the bulbs. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
Hi Mario, for this video we only sealed the lights on the corners as they tend to be the common problem causers. But sealing all the lights at once isn't a bad idea! Thanks for watching!
We've never replaced the middle ones before! We tried to search for another tutorial to refer you to, but the problem is commonly with the side marker lights. You might want to search online for instructions on repairing the middle lights. Thanks for watching!
So how about if you ever needed to remove the wires would you crack it off? Nice video though no bla bla just straight to the point. I have experienced that on my h2 2006 but thinking of doing it. Could you do also a video about under engine oil leaks please. Thanks
Good question! It's a silicon seal that is only attached to the gasket, not the light housing itself. The light housing can easily be removed by unscrewing the exterior screw to get to the wires. Glad you enjoyed the video! We may touch on engine leaks in the future, so stay tuned! :)
Very unusual to see a beautiful woman doing fairly complicated car repairs. Good for you, I’m sure you can Monetizing you’re videos and you’ll get likes and subscribers in no time. Bet you’ll even surpass the bigger names on RUclips! Your videos are superb in almost every way. Thank you, and good luck 👍🏻.
Hi Sonia! We did not replace the door seals, but I did a little research and found another RUclipsr who has! He has a complete tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/LH23Am2qzxk/видео.html Thanks for watching!
That was my first leak area too. 2nd was the center lights. It killed the radio and temp controls. They kind worked after drying out, but replaced everything. After i sell this h2 i would never buy another. To much plastic and eats front tires/ all wheel drive.
Many of these videos dont address the leak can also be caused by the caulking cracking on the roof seam near both the front columns top far right and left running lights. I had to remove the rack rails and used flex seal.
We're not super familiar with the H3's, (haven't worked on one yet,) but I did a quick google search for any recalls on 2006 Hummer H3's! Here is a link I found to the official recalls sent over the years: www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2006/HUMMER/H3 Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
Loved the video and info on this quick, easy fix-it! Just a mention that the "gasket" is actually a grommet for the wire. Keep making great GM (GM lover here 😉) so I can keep passing them on!
Great video, the HUMMER community appreciates it!

Hi @jaferalialvi3777. Unfortunately, we have not.
What kind of transfer case oil?Does your hammer use at h three

Do you know what light bulbs are used for the middle Roof Marker Light Bulbs? Thank you!

I believe they can be bought with the housings or separately: I was able to find several kits on eBay and Amazon, but it seems harder to find just the bulbs. Bruh. Theyre all universal.
Did you do all the top lights or just the top corners. I need to know.
Hi Mario, for this video we only sealed the lights on the corners as they tend to be the common problem causers. But sealing all the lights at once isn't a bad idea! Thanks for watching!
Thanks very good
Thanks for watching!
Are the problems fixed by the manufacturer on later years of production.
I imagine so for the newest body style, but not quite sure this one.
I wish I had seen this video before wasting a week chasing down the leak. Nice work ! btw, there was a cat watching those chickens 🐓
Thank you, S Butler! It is definitely a difficult thing to track down. And haha, yes! We have a couple of curious barn cats on staff. :P

Thanks for your input Ghost hunter! We appreciate you watching and commenting!
How the hell do you lose your radio and temp controls from a leak above? The wires for radio/temps are no where near the roof moron!!!!!!
Why didn't you replace the gasket?
Hi Delta-V! The silicon we used replaces the old gasket. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Many of these videos dont address the leak can also be caused by the caulking cracking on the roof seam near both the front columns top far right and left running lights. I had to remove the rack rails and used flex seal.

Nice easy fix. Too bad you did not address the rubber gasket that is the first line of leak defense. Maybe next time.
Thanks for watching Richard, we'll try to include that in our next Hummer video!

Use a vacuum instead of pliers
