I don’t think there’s no one size fits all answer to the amount of fragrance you should spray on yourself. It really depends on the climate, your body chemistry and the fragrance itself.

Watched this again... bro you’re super right, I AM THE PRIZE. And not one perfumer would recommend going with so many sprays. In fact, fragrances can work magic subtly with your body chemistry and many women would agree. It’s nice to have a fragrance enhance your natural smell instead of smelling like a walking fragrance counter lol

But in all honesty 7-12 sprays is my sweet spot for compliments (never get compliments for anything like 5 sprays) ... 15 if I'm going to a party though 😂 Just gotta find what works.
The ideal is to have a faint scent bubble that makes people want to get closer. This gets complicated when it comes to strength of fragrance, time after you spray and situation/occasion you wearing it and how close you will be to other people. You never want to be "the cologne guy" and reak of a fragrance because then it looks like you are "trying too hard" or trying to make up for something else.

Believe me, when the fragrance is at least good (and better) by the smell girls don't give a fck if you technicsally oversprayed. They fall in love of how good you smell and want more of you, they want that everything of their belongings smells after you. I sometimes "oversprayed" on purpose and the girls in the clique, dates and others just couldn't get enough of me and were in love and their seduced smile on their faces and giving me compliments all the time - the guys on the other hand in our clique did say smell really good but add with humor that I oversprayed. Girls have a very different sense when it comes to scents, they enjoy their environment/clothes/stuff and room smelling good, even more so when an attractive guy wears an attractive parfum they litareally wish you leave your scent on their belongings, on their pillow in their bed anywhere so they can think and dream of you all the night while having some things smelling after you.
Of course I'm not talking about spraying over 25 sprays of a strong fragrance at once on you that is ridiculous 😂 but if anyone believes 3-5 sprays are enough these days pfff its only a rain drop in the heat. Depending on the fragrance and where you're going (of course) 8 sprays are the least if you wanna stand out and be the man of the night all night.

@@miamilivelife9583 Exactly brother, of course spraying over 15 sprays of strong parfum at once is ridiculous as hell, but up to that you're good. People have to understand when you are in the public or a crowded house or room, building or mall you are competing with other scents from your environment and the parfum and maybe even stinky smell of other people.
It doesn't mean that 3-5 sprays can't be enough for a certain situation (shopping, office) with most fragrances, but some shouldn't overestimate the scent it just becomes equal at best, who ever tells himself 1-3 sprays are enough for a nightout when that person can also wear no fragrance at all, its wasted.
Stronger With You is so strong and long lasting, three sprays really last over 12+ hours with beastly projection and sillage, but when you're going out you simply need a couple of more sprays with almost all fragrances because they have to compete with thousands of other scents for many and more hours.

I believe something in the middle is right. It depends of the skin and fragrance but for average Joe going to the office, 5 sprays of the Dunhills Ferragamos Dolce Gabannas Nauticas are skin scents by midday and you need to refresh. I don’t care about the others but I want to be able to smell myself and with current designer fragrances at least 10-12 shots are a must. Of course I would not do it with Bentley intense or Lapidus por Homme but IFRA and cost cutting has made perfumes a shadow of what they used to be.

@@lh6033 yeah man, many times. You’ve never smelled someone’s nasty body odor covered up with a shit ton of cologne? Or near someone that just crawled out of a jar of cumin? Or being stuck next to someone at work first thing in the morning that put way too much Joop Homme on, giving me a headache. In fact, just the other day I was standing in line behind this lady for 10 minutes that clearly bathed in vanilla body spray from the body shop, made me nauseous. Most of the time I’m ok with it or it smells pleasant, but there are times I don’t want to wear a frag let alone dealing with somebody else’s.

Its so much more exciting to smell a fragrance close up then to be choked out by it. It is supposed to lure the one your attracting to come closer to smell more. Not burn there nose hair.
All depends on skin cemetery really I have dry skin that literally drinks fragrance, I have sprayed 10 sprays of fragrance gone out and asked if someone can smell my perfume and people have said not or its really light , my friend spays 3 sprays and get massive projection....all depends on individuals and what fragrance your using thats my opinion anyways ....
Years ago there was a time when even edt fragrances would have huge projection even with the lightest hand, until IFRA banned a lot of fixative notes.
I have been so disappointed in todays offerings and performance issues that ive resorted to giving much loved fragrances away. I will for sure overspray on mainly designer fragrances that dont perform but then my skin is dry like an old boot 🥴. I do air a little on the side of caution of middle eastern fragrances though 🤷♀️
I agree in spraying more than 5-8 only in weak perfumes .. But specialized perfumes are not more than 3-5 because they are usually strong in performance, and if the performance is weak, put it on clothes

These shots are too fire, i agree with you on this, i would rather be soft on the trigger and people smell me less instead of chocking people out with too much and getting negative reaction.
I just do two sprays on my chest. Here's my technique:
1. Apply unscented lotion to the chest (or any area you wish to spray your fragrance at). Fragrances need moisturized skin to work. Plus it helps reduce the redness on your skin because of the alcohol content.
2. Spray the fragrance on your body where you applied the lotion. In my case, I just spray on my chest. (Watch the Hugo Boss Boss Bottled commercial with Chris Hemsworth to get a visualization).
3. Wear a shirt over it (button down or tee) immediately. A shirt will help 'mute' the strong fragrance (at least with the Dior Sauvage I have) and it will carry the scent along with your moisturized skin.

all is about the choice, some like it some doesn´t. is a matter of taste, on my self depend on the fragance I use more o less sprays and that it and the most immportant works for me. tip find the balance some fragances need more sprays other not example Xerjoff Erba Pura few sprays, La nuit de l´homme I usse about 12 sprays and wiht both I get a lot of compliments. There is no general rule is the rule that works for you. I think you are not right and also Curly is no right either. Factors skin, composition of the perfume, longevity , pH of the skin, wheater (warm or cold) no one has ther right answer. is a matter of try on your self the way that works better, the reste is just ann opinion of Fragance Room or Curly.

Man I spray 5 sprays mostly.. if I'm going clubbing or to a big event (festival, big Party for example) I'm going with 7 sprays, never more.
Let me share my opinion guys. Weak, bad performing frags are useless, unless you love the scent, then spray your clothes. 3-4 sprays on each sleeve or side of shirt sholud make it for a day. Unless you go outside or work in open areas. Weak frags usually disapear in open air. But there are several scents below 25$ that have good, long performance, and spraying clothes is extending them, just make a research : ) Some Arab frags can also do the job easy. Stronger long lasting frags are often sweet or oud for colder months. Summer freshies tend to be on a weaker side. And i said about spraying clothes because scent is going away faster from skin, or becoming skin scent after 2 hours. Its not a point to spend 150$ on a frag which wont go thru the face masks anyway. It's all about budget so it up to you. But i think we wear scents mostly for ourselvwes, especialy in 2020. Ovespraying is only option for people who like to project, which i notice from time to time, in stores during last months.
Depends with the concentration of a perfume... I usually say 7 sprays parfum concentration...10-12 sprays for an EDP concentration and about 15 sprays for an EDT and cologne concentration...ofcourse the type of perfume DNA matters coz some are very potent regardless of concentration so adjustments can be made accordingly... If you are using a perfume... The intention is to be smelled or else it defeats the whole purpose...if you don't wanna be smelled, stick to deodrants and stop at that!
She sprays 30 times with weak ftagrances only when she is going to be outside all day, not on a date but yeah I get your point:D I ususally do 9-10 sprays. Even if i want to, I can't do more because it really bothers me when I want to eat during the day. That's why i do not like super beast mode fragrances. Because of the longevity I sold off my dior homme parfum...If you spray that bastard you are set until your next shower and its not a good thing. If you stink from fragrances or not it is a cultural thing really. I'm eastern european and we are not hardcore fragrance users. (I am lol) but you know what i mean.

Thank you sir! Someone had to say that! I always go with 2-3 sprays. And I totally agree about pocket atomizers. I use them regularly. It is not the fragrance's fault if it's not performing, it's how you use them. You don't wash teeth once a day and complain how a toothpaste is not good enough.
I like to overspray sometimes, but it generally happens when I wear fragrances that do not stink when I spray the heavy and when I am in the mood to have a thick fragrance cloud around me.. But I agree - do not do that in order to prove something to others
Just walk out the door and see if you can notice any trail on any person you walk past. Chances are that you will only notice it on 2 out of 10 people. People in general don't like oversprayers. It's like sitting in a room where someone dropped a big smelly fart and you're forced to sit through the meeting. Specially with resinous scents. They stay in the air and straight up to your brain, can't stand it.
9 out of 10 people prefer fragrances to be a comfort sone thing.
Thank you for calling out these fragrance reviewers telling people to overspray. Being around someone who oversprays doesn't make you want to compliment them, it makes you wanna get away from them.🤢 I don't want to be the guy people want to run away from. 3-4 sprays gets me enough compliments.

Some fragrances are so weak that You can spray the whole bottle and still not choke anyone... especially designers nowadays, like La Nuit :/ but overspraying beast mode frags like Tom Fords or Amouages can be dangerous :P with designers most of the time does not matter how much You spray, they are weak anyway :/

It depends the skin pH. Hour ago I sprayed on me Acqua Di Gio Profondo 20 times in different parts of my body equally. One hour or hour and a half later it was all gone, no projection, just a little bit of the fragrance on my skin 🤷🏻♂️
This REALLY needed to be said and hope everyone sees this. Fragrance is an accessory like a watch, can slightly enhance your attractiveness but will not get you laid, especially if you don't look like you have your act together or behave appropriately. Even 7 sprays for a lot of fragrances in the eau de parfum (or sauvage! don't spray 7 of sauvage I beg you) category. It will have the opposite effect of what you want. While we don't want to admit it, there are many many people out there that genuinely dislike or even hate fragrance because they have sensitive noses or allergies. Don't be a dick. We all use elevators.

@@Fragranceroom I have friends who have allergies that actually have been bothered when I sprayed 4 sprays of YSL EDP so I went with 2 moving forward, I still received compliments and felt good about myself without bothering anyone. Let them try it that way and they can see how that works out. Spray as much as you want but people will quietly gag in their mouth...not everyone, but most. If I can give any advice it would be: brush your teeth and tongue, go work out and eat healthy, dress well, and be respectful but also assertive and if they don't show interest move on.

Can't get into details, but she would rub me on her so she could smell like me. Yes, she was crazy! And it was ysl la'nuite. Sorry, I know it's not your favorite.
I thought I was being clever one night, I sprayed like 15 sprays since I was riding my motorcycle and thought the rush of air will wipe off the fragrance. I definitely underestimated the power of that fragrance. 😂
This is all subjective. You can't put a standard on how many sprays to apply because there are things to consider such as the fragrance itself and your body chemistry. Some folks can get away with that many sprays depending on the fragrance and some are good with a few sprays. Just be considerate of others. It's your fragrance, spray away until you think it's offensive or if someone tells you that you wreak then time it down. Simple 🤷🏻♂️

I have to disagree. From personal experience, I get very positive reactions when I spray like 15-20 times with a weak(!) fragrance compared to get no reaction when I sprayed the usual 5 sprays. But of course, use common sense. Don't spray the same amount with a beast like Oud Wood and take into consideration if you are outside or in a closed environment with many people.

I completely agree with anything you say it is exactly what I think.
If your fragrance is so strong that it is distracting & taking center stage over everything else, then it's too much. When I say distracting, I don't mean intoxicating. An intoxicating fragrance means it leaves people wanting more, it's addicting & you don't want to stop smelling it because it smells so good. Distracting means the fragrance is so over powering & dominating that people can't concentrate on anything else & they just want it to stop. There is a difference between being intoxicating and being toxic. You can be the most charming, charismatic, good looking & intriguing person in the room, but if you over sprayed your fragrance it becomes repellent, toxic & preoccupying because people can't get past the distracting assault of your fragrance dominating over everything else. Even a beautifully intoxicating & sexy fragrance can become toxic & kill the mood and your whole vibe if you overdosed yourself with it. It goes from you wearing the fragrance to the fragrance wearing you. Getting a little buzz from alcohol can be fun & relaxing, getting sh*tfaced drunk is annoying & never attractive. The last thing you want your fragrance to convey is that you are out of control and are incapable of managing even the small stuff, like knowing how much fragrance to put on.

Sprays depend on the fragrancetype. Some of mine are so strong, that I use 1 spray on the back of my hand and then stick it to the sides of my neck. Otherwise it would fuck me and all the others around me up.

Curly says USE YOUR BRAIN regarding the number of sprays. Tailor to the strength of the perfume... and where you're gonna wear it. I agree with that. I'm am an oversprayer mainly due to the CRAP weakness, lack of punch, longevity and silage of some current fragrances. Some have hardly ANY projection. VERY sadly, we can't get and use the "powerhouse" fragrances of the 80's and 90'S. No way could you spray more than 5-6 of the VINTAGE Aromatics Elixir, or VINTAGE CD Poison. Now they WOULD knock you over!!

There are many weak perfumes in the market, they are all a designer. If you buy them, you will feel that you have wasted your money because of the performance..so the solution is to spray more than 5..maybe 10, this depends on the performance .. I do not agree with this in niche perfumes

Only one I have that is beast mode is Sauvage edt and edp. On me at least. I have tried most of the newer ones and they feel very weak. If you can suggest me some beast mode fragrances I would be glad to try them. And btw, reformulation always kills a fragrances performance

Maybe you need to watch the video again. She didn’t say to spray lime that every time. Lndlh is weak and she said if outside all day. Nice try at trying to increase your views. Guess it worked but better to put a few extra sprays rather than it’s worn off when you get out.
