Log Jammer POV Six Flags Magic Mountain Before CLOSING

- Take a ride on the Log jammer at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia California.
Log Jammer opened on May 29, 1971, with Six Flags Magic Mountain. Log Jammer was closed on October 31, 2011 Halloween, at the end of Fright Fest 2011. The ride was removed to make way for the 2013 attraction, Full Throttle.
Full Throttle is on the End screen.
I miss classic Magic Mountain. Back when they had a monorail and a true log flume. The park feels incomplete without them
Is the Jet Stream not a true log flume? The Log Jammer did have a much more interesting layout.
The moose lodge and huge tree are gone...definitely lacks life. Grew up in the area and surprisingly, the only thing thats changed alot is magic mountian.
I miss this ride... It was a classic.
Miss this ride
Oh, wow. That's a real disappointment to hear that this ride is gone now. I'll always remember the memories of riding this with my mom when we used to make our annual trips to six flags when I was a kid. I hope they at least replace it with another water ride of some sort.
Same me and my dad would come just to ride this! Why did it even close down?
@@cactusprickles620 it was becoming a maintenance nightmare. It would constantly break down the last years it was running, and well they had a 2 log flume, so it was replaceable. However I think this was much better than jet stream
@@mister_vulgar you name fits you.
@@cactusprickles620for full throttle
Jet Stream barely a splash and is just a bit boring where as Log Jammer is fast, rocky and has good splash downs and drops
bruh then u just like to get wet alot then cus i dont
Best fun I ever had in my life with me and my mom alone was when we went with my sister and I to magic mountain in the late 1980's and I remember my mom wanted to take me for a ride in the Log Jammer and explained to me the future of being a man, and how men would ride the logs in the old days for sport and for fun. Just me and her alone on the ride brings back all the memories but like everything else in my life, they always drastically have to come to a close. I didn't know they shut this ride down either.
Gold rusher looks like an abandoned roller coaster but it's not
No surfordie82, Log Jammer's charm was the pure nature round it--the fresh green trees, the frost blue color of the open aqua tube along which the log meandered, especially at nighttime when the water glowed and it's pungent smell nostalgic. And the falls were nothing compared to Knott's and Disney's!
The only reason I went to Six Flags was for this ride...and now it's history.
No kidding. I loved this ride, it was not only thrilling, fun, and exciting, but it was also incredibly relaxing and beautiful going up, down, in and around the landscape with all the sounds and smells of water and trees. So wonderful. I was so sad when I found out they were taking it down.
R.I.P. Log Jammer.
RIP Log Jammer Best Water Ride at SFMM :(
When I first take a look at this video: " This is a boring ride." When it gets to the top: OMG im sorry...
I really miss this ride!
I see the old monorail track
I remember going on this ride old memories 😢
My favorite memories on this ride was standing on the platforms of this ride and splashing people once they got to the bottom of the final splash
Log Jammer has operated for its last day, and is slated for removal.
RIP 1971-2011. We will miss you.
D: it's so sad that this ride is gone. the first time i went 6 flags this was the first ride i went on :)
Jet stream is so old and leaky. In the winter when they drain the water, you can see how bad it has deteriorated (You can see it on the way to West Coast Racers). They should have kept the Log Jammer - longer ride and better drops. The line for Full Throttle is ridiculous for a ride that is over in a blink. You can still see the cement areas where the flumes used to be. It is a big area just going to waste.
One of the better flume vids on YT.
My favorite water ride ever. ♥
you have the best videos
If this really is closed down,im lucky i got a chance to ride it a few times this past summer. There goes another childhood memory for probably another stupid superhero ride.
Wow, that's the longest log flume ride I've seen.
Six Flags Magic Mountain retired Log Jammer, in favor of rolling out another new coaster... Full Throttle, which is slated to debut late Spring, 2013.
Other Six Flags parks that still have a log flume water ride... Over Georgia: Log Jamboree, Great Adventure: Saw Mill Log Flume, Over Texas: El Aserradero, St. Louis: Log Flume, and Great America: Logger's Run.
Water rides still at Magic Mountain... Jet Stream, Roaring Rapids, and Tidal Wave. RIP to SFMM's Log Jammer.
You forgot Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Bugs Bunny White Water Rapids
@@leorosales6922 In fact, Bugs White Water Rapids was added to Fiesta Texas after the park was already open. It has an interesting layout that squeezes between existing structures and barely uses up any space. Also, it's a new model not from Arrow. O.D. Hopkins maybe?
i love this ride i wish they still had it god damnit
@AngelBabe2233 @skategromit Thank you.
R.I.P. Log Jammer.😩
My favorite ride growing up. Sad to see it go
came back from six flags today. the lake was gone adn all that's left of log jammer is what used to be the loading dock/zone building. quite depressing. :(
@superpup2255 It's because they're building a new attraction in 2013.
Are you kiddin' me?! 5 minutes, and TWO MINI FALLS?? -.-
your six flags is cooler than the six flags where i live
Its been so long that i’ve been on this ride that i didnt realize wit was this long. Jet stream has nothing on this
My very first ride at six flags! Wish they didnt tear it down :(
so upset that this ride is gone.
I went to six flags the for my first time when they closed it. Man I was sad but worth full throttle.
Right? Very few people ride Jet Stream. Log Jammer was soo much fun! My sister and I used to ride it so many times in a row that we started to friend the people working there! LOL!
i miss this ride
miss this ride :c
R.I.P LOG JAMMER FOREVER MISSED !
It kept breaking down, and they wanted to put in full throttle
last time i was there we had 5 guys in this ride; and we sank the log! at the end we made a hell of a splash! workers looked at us; and couldn't stop laughing
I got to ride it over 20 times during my years in California. So :P
This looks fast for a log flume
I miss that ride.
Log Jammer
Location: Six Flags Magic Mountain
Opened: May 29th 1971
Closed: October 31st 2011
Replaced By: Full Throttle
Classic Arrow log flume. I think it held the world record for the longest log flume. I got to ride it in '91. I think I would rather they have kept this and the monorail than to build Full Throttle.
When it first came out it was the largest flume ride in the world…RIP monorail
thats sad they removed it. i jst like the look of the area around this ride going through the trees its just fun like that. roller coasters are cool too but they are mainly just coasters on a plot of cement i like rides like this
they shouldve taken out jet stream
Seriously. That ride is rough AF
My mom agrees
Two premire rides coasters next to each other.
it's being replaced by an epic coaster called full throtle which will have three launches, including 1 backwards launch, and a record breaking 160 ft vertical loop
i wish i was a never ending ride like this nice and peaceful until I wanted it to end
I'm excited and all for full throttle, but now the park has only 2 water rides, and one hardly ever is always being shut down (tidal wave). One giant loops. That's all full throttle is is one giant loop. Magic mountain is cashing in on these short rides. Even with space constraints you can still fit in decent rides.
Even if you tell them not to, they still rock the logs....
R.I.P ;(
ARE YOU SERIOUS? I was on this ride in August! Aw man, that was a fun ride... But I guess it was time...
It's gone??? Gosh, I was just on this ride in august!
I really miss this ride ;3;
They should have just moved it to their water park side instead of taking it out entirely
@@smurf2374 ...or just keep Log Jammer as it was and not even build Full Throttle. That's the option I'd have gone with.
@AdrenalineAddict610 I agree completely. It's a real shame. Log Jammer was one of my favorites at Magic Mountain. Out of all rides, they have to let go of this one... one of their originals... What a shame. ;(
my fav ride in the world
good times
Was shocked to see that this ride had been removed when I went to SFMM yesterday. I hadn't been on it for a couple years, but it was still one of my favorites.. They should've taken out Jet Stream because it's so short and doesn't get u as wet.. I hope they replace it with something awesome.
Well, Jet Stream overlaps with the Ninja quite a bit, so removing it would not really free up any space to build anything. What if they were to just remove Full Throttle and rebuild the Log Jammer? And maybe the monorail?
last time i was there we had 5 guys in this ride; and we sank the log! at the end we made a hell of a splash! workers looked at us; and couldn't stop laughing o wait it was jet stream......nvm
I miss this ride. I like Full Throttle a ton, but why not keep log jammer. I am guessing it was also at the point of needing to be completely replaced. It was really really old even though it was one of my favorite rides. I loved the experience of going in and around all the trees and landscape. A beautiful tour of the magic mountain forest! At the same time still being exciting, and fun. Sad. They should take out Jet stream and put in a new flume in it's place. I still enjoy Jet Stream on a hot day, but mildly. It is rough as all get out. Me and my friends always joked how it was a joke; in that riders are the same as marbles being shaken in a tin can, lol. It is less a water flume ride to me as it is a bob sled ride, since it is rolling more than floating throughout most of the duration of the ride. I still love going to Magic Mountain though.
It was very old, somewhat unreliable, had a large footprint for its ride type, wasn't that popular by comparison, and required a lot of staff for operation and maintenance- just look at how many operators are stationed along its length in the video. The existence of another flume ride in the park probably didn't help. Unfortunately, of the two, they chose to keep the one that's an inferior experience in pretty much every way. Jet Stream has fewer drops, worse pacing, is a shorter ride, and is like 30% lift hill.
rip log jammer, full throttle is fun tho
@Frickis not really like 45 min.
This was way more fun
@TheCoasterViews Thats Why It Looks So Empty
really I went yesterday and got on it
Wow Log Jammer... sad its not there anymore :(
2:47 look at the person
@TheVanilla2002 yeah i know
Goood ride good times
Better than the jet stream ride. It was always the 1st ride and the last ride I went on
EXTREME!!!!!!
It's being replaced with a new coaster called full throttle, which will hold the record for the world highest loop
@TheCoasterViews I'm sorry that people were stealing your videos
yup
i think its good that Full Throttle replaced it but there's extra room in the back, they could just put Full Throttle there
also, if you listen in the back at 3:24 you can hear Kashmir by the amazing
Led Zeppelin
Wow all these cool rides are getting shut down on six flags MM y?
0 per log. Its gone
@TheCoasterViews Is SFMM the only park with 2 flumes (as opposed to a flume/water coaster combo)?
it is so depressing to see a empty space where this ride use to be. :( i will miss it. But then again i also understand that there was never any line for this ride. I wonder what are they gonns replace this with?
Mauricio Munoz their was always a line for this ride in spring and summer always a 2-3 hour wait
Never a line? When I rode it in '91, I had to wait in a significant line.
at least this ride is replaced with a decent ride/great ride... my opinion
Super-bowl Sunday.
They took out the ride to make room for Full Throttle.
*pours one out for a classic ride*
ha i thought the ride was over after the first drop and then a huge one strait after it!!.
WHAT?!?!?!? They're taking it out????? How many roller coasters do they need!? That makes me so mad...That was my favorite ride there... :,-(
This was my first and only ride at Six Flags :(
The log ride is way better at six flags over Georgia because it ends faster n the hill is a bit deeper n its not boring!!! =D
3:37 why's there a guy sitting there?
Thierry Van Tillo well the ride kep breaking down so he was there in case it stopped or broke down.. thats why they replaced it with full throttle
There was always a guy sitting before the drop on log jammer. There's also a guy on jet stream if I remember correctly.
Thierry Van Tillo I used to work this ride for over a year, one lift and both drops always had someone working at them. We were there for breakdowns, stop people from jumping out, having sex (yes that happened a lot on this ride), etc
I got hit in the face by a duck on this ride back in the 90's. I was just a kid. That last drop at 4:20. I'll never forget that.
So is there ever that many people on super bowl sunday ?
I don't see the real excitement in this ride other than that 2nd drop... Can somebody explain why everybody thinks this ride is so amazing and full throttle shouldn't have replaced it ??
Ryan Brennan Sure, Magic Mountain is located in Valencia California.... Which is located in a desert.... It gets very very very hot in the summers there, a water ride ( which always had long lines ) is greatly appreciated for hot days, and this particular log ride was a fun, unique, water ride.
also a cool feature of this ride is for $0.25 the cannons you see at 4:29 will splash riders as they come by. Very fun to do on the pier during cold days when people don't wanna get wet but ride for short lines hahaha.
they already have two other water rides. and most of these log flume rides have that 0.25cent water gun feature anyway
So true
+Ryan Brennan Because it's long for a log flume. Unique in the sense that it traveled the mountain terrain. It had two drops. And it had been at Magic Mountian since it's opening.
@117Andreia yeah, but the splashdown is worth it. for a log ride, you get REALLY soaked on this! me and my cousin went on twice and it looked like we took a show with our clothes on.
they are planning to make a huge roller coaster there. I think the biggest in the western coast of america
me two. if they wanted to remove a ride for a 2013 coaster it maybe should have been jet stream because log jammer gets you way more soaked than jet stream.
And build Full Throttle under Ninja? That would be interesting to see.
why did they remove it?
what ride?do you know yet
?
could u do one of test track or something like that in disneyworld in epcot?
