The transpose feature sold me right away. I own one guitar (I'm primarily a drummer), and I change tunings quite often depending on my mood. This transpose option will come in handy for me.
Same thoughts here. It will be so much easier to play lower tone songs without manually having to change the string settings and then go back to standard. I’m sold out on that one.
Archetype Gojira has a pitch shifter that can do similar things, just no steps, it's "fluid". Neural released a preset pack for clean transpose steps. With a host that can handle midi-presets etc (I'm using Cantabile Solo), you can keep your transpose steps but use it as a whammy too.
Every time I think that Neural DSP have made their ultimate plugin they come back like, "this is not even our final form!" Thanks for the demo, especially the piezo clean sound is just epic.
not any more, Gojira sounds better, in fact the mesa boogie knocks it down...if only NDSP added transpose and stereo to all their sim interfaces including allowing the plugins outside the sim box..then they would be King of Sim market
@@mikehunt576 I have all 3 and use them for different stuff tbh. I still use Petrucci for all my clean shit and I also quite like the rhythm amp, it feels like a modernized version of a mesa amp. Overall I do prefer the mesa boogie plugin though. My only complaint about archetype petrucci is the price really, they really make everything with his name more expensive.

John Petrucci, the doubler, and the transpose is a triple threat. I will donate a kidney to get this plugin. I'm on day 3 of the trial, and I can't stop playing. I'm done with BIAS FX 2. Blue Cat's Axiom is great though, but this is just wow. I can jam along with my favourite bands on RUclips that over the years always seem to go half a step down.
This is probably my favorite plugin you've demoed. The cleans are amazing as are the effects, the transposing sonically holds up surprisingly well and the heavy tones are crushing in the best possible way. Two thumbs up here.

Hopefully the doubler and room mic features will eventually make it into other NDSP plugins (although they seem pretty damn slow to update previous plugins). The transpose you could already do with Gojira, NDSP even made presets for it, but this is just easier.
This plugin is incredible. there are tons of great amp sims but this might be the most versatile I've played so far. and not just able to do a ton of sounds, but it does a ton of sounds all extremely well. everything I would expect from JP working with NDSP

This plugin sounds absolutely ridiculous. I played around with the trial for a bit earlier... the clean tones are beautiful and right out of the box the leads are soaring but not cluttered. It's an instabuy for me. My favorite Neural plugin yet.

I see it has a doubler function there. Something I learned from a Petrucci video ages ago about how he uses a delay sometimes with a very short timebase single slapback running into another amp to create an artificial 3D wall of sound effect and I've done that ever since
ironically, the transposer has half steps but the whammy pedal in the gojira plugin doesn't, lol. anyway i think this might be the best plugin they ever made
Yes it dooes. Activate the whammy, go on 100% wet, find the middle where your pitch stays the same while on and off and then slowly start to scroll your mouse down. Guarantee it works
K. With the plini, nameless, granophyre and gojira (and fortin etc available) i dont feel tempted. With so many plugins it would make sense to pay for a base edition and add on amps etc for a lower cost than a full plugin every time. But yeah update all the plugins with that detuner pls... :) I use a drop pedal but playing regularly and lowering in afterwards from within the plugin would be convenient.

I have an old Boss ME50 Multieffect and I use a stereo chorus with the minimum values to get that double result. And it sounds great when you use headphones.
After 5 years of not being able to afford a guitar i finally am getting back into it and got this plugin on black friday. can't wait to start jamming again next week :')

These Neural DSP plugins are nuts! I just started checking them out. I have a Mesa Triple Crown 100, and I typically mic it on a 2x12 I built out of solid ash with Eminence Swamp Things in it, but I just moved to an apartment...and I'm blown away at how these plugins sound in a mix, mainly on rhythm guitar. For leads I think I'll still just piss off the neighbors, but I might actually do some rhythm tracking at least for layers with these.
@@NickTheSickDick yeah but you can have ms number in harmonizer as well, in theory, at least. I had multi fx pedal back in a day and it had delay combined with pitch shifter, so it changed pitch after a certain amount of ms
This plugin is the best one I've seen/played.. highly recommend.. the most beautiful thing, if you've used modeling plugins, the sustain crackles at the end of the signal.. hard to get the long long sustain when you want it.. and here's the most awesome part of this; each (most) control\s on the interface are MIDI assignable, so if you have an FCB1010, and the new EEPROM; you can control a lot of devices by MIDI, and this plugin too.. this is amazing.. ex.. imagine a hard rocking tone, and with one click, you switch to an acoustic sound.. Check it out the demo at the very least, you'll be sold.. Great Job JP.. (sounds amazing with the majesty). Detune is fantastic.. you can get a baritone guitar without restringing or detuning the guitar.. for live, it's great.. You can do this live.. provided your computer is reliable and won't crash.. haha

If you programmed a fake guitar riff, say one of the virtual guitar plugins out there, and ran it through the Neural DSP. Would it be possible to make it sound somehow close to a real axe? I mean simple riff/power chords. What do you think? Have you ever tried my sick ass idea?
I do this sometimes when I'm working on a demo and don't have a guitar next to me. It sounds much more realistic but of course, the guitar samples have to be decent too. It's pretty effective still as long as it's basic power chords and single note riffs :) At the very least you get a rough idea of what type of amp you might want to use down the road for the real recording, assuming the guitar samples are reasonably similar to the guitar you are using.
Forget double tracking, quad tracking is the way. The doubler is really just a Haas effect, it maybe usable for playing live, but won't be as good as double tracking.
I bought the Gojira and Cory Wong plugins some days ago and it took some time convincing my wife. And now comes this... I'm looking for a good divorce lawyer.

Neural DSP finally released a plugin based on a legendary guitarist's gear/tone. They upped their game massively with Archetype: Petrucci. And I mean no disrespect for whatever they've released so far (all their plugins are superb -Nolly probably their best until Archetype: Petrucci was released) however this is a game changer and no one can argue with that.
I agree 100%. I've been using the Archetype Nolly for very long time now. I bought the Archetype Petrucci yesterday and it is definitely their best plugin to date. It has better cleans than the Nolly. The added room mic, the doubler and the transpose features make it a step up from the Nolly plugin. I love this thing!!

I think the doubler is probably made as a simplified emulation based on the Eventide H3000 Harmonizer. Judging by what it does.

Neural DSP finally released a plugin based on a legendary guitarist's gear/tone. They upped their game massively with Archetype: Petrucci. And I mean no disrespect for whatever they've released so far (all their plugins are superb -Nolly probably their best until Archetype: Petrucci was released) however this is a game changer and no one can argue with that.
I agree 100%. I've been using the Archetype Nolly for very long time now. I bought the Archetype Petrucci yesterday and it is definitely their best plugin to date. It has better cleans than the Nolly. The added room mic, the doubler and the transpose features make it a step up from the Nolly plugin. I love this thing!!
