I can't remember where I read it or maybe heard her talking about it... but I think this is her own experience of a relationship which turned very dark indeed. Your reaction showed a real empathy and I'm sorry you have something in your past which makes you relate. This is a haunting song, but Aurora is such a bright and vibrant soul and if you watch her in interviews you can't help but be enchanted and cheered by her personality.

The contrast between form and content, between the beauty of the voice as well as the choice of words, and the extreme darkness of what is evoked, is striking. And what a way to embody her songs... English is not my day to day language, so it happens sometimes that this beauty just takes me softly away. But knowing the lyrics, at some point the meaning brings me back to the "chilling reality". You're correct about the R, here on the west coast, we have the German/French R, though in variations of dialect, Norway is one of those countries you can drive for 15 minutes and the dialect has already started changing. But in our capital of Oslo, they roll their R, as they basically speak our written language of "Bokmål"

I think you Are so right about your interpretation, that it’s about trauma. I have been wondering what «happened quiet», because violence or abuse it probably not completely silent, but I have come to that it could be the breakage og the heart, or the breakage of self into development of multiple personality disorder. It might have different possible interpretations filtered through our own lens of experience. Domestic abuse was the first thing that came to mind and at the end the line "And I'll bleed in your bed" made me think of sexual assault. I dont know if that is a correct interpretation of that line. Either way it is a darker song, but amazingly well written and performed.
Yes, some kind of violence, sexual assault, some kind of abuse. Aurora has said her music is bigger than her, she is also open to different interpretations of her songs.

I think you Are so right about your interpretation, that it’s about trauma. I have been wondering what «happened quiet», because violence or abuse it probably not completely silent, but I have come to that it could be the breakage og the heart, or the breakage of self into development of multiple personality disorder. It might have different possible interpretations filtered through our own lens of experience. Domestic abuse was the first thing that came to mind and at the end the line "And I'll bleed in your bed" made me think of sexual assault. I dont know if that is a correct interpretation of that line. Either way it is a darker song, but amazingly well written and performed.
Yes, some kind of violence, sexual assault, some kind of abuse. Aurora has said her music is bigger than her, she is also open to different interpretations of her songs.

That song always makes me think about one very special to me day. That day I felt like I died for a moment but it was quite. I was traumatized. And the way how she crafted the lyrics of this song is very accurate to what I experienced since that day in my life.
