    Fun fact: Aurora released this in the summer of 2020 when the world was shut down because of covid, and her comment was that what the world really needed during the hard times was a lovesong. She wrote the song years before that but never released it. And as always a great reaction from you. Love from Norway

      @@SaeedReacts. She was so present on social media, knowing that many of her warriors and weirdos were struggling with the lockdown, she put many many many perfo and live on the net, spending sometine few minute other time hour just talking and plating piano. She shot this video in a place close to her home and two of her friend are ''playing'' on her side, only acting on the track of the song, simple but beautyfull.

      Aurora is Venus in this just like the famous painting by Botticelli wher Venus stands in a clam. 1940 vibes on this beautiful song. Great reaction. Thank you.

    What a really nice reaction to this beautiful love song. It does have that vibe of the 40's love songs. Potion for Love is the sister to it, but from the perspective of the end of the romance, it is a loving, tender song from that perspective, beautifully done by the lyrical genius of Aurora. Thanks.

    as close as a song can come to the feeling of butterflies in ones belly.. its remarkable how she was actually sonically able to capture that. ❤

      There is a song called motion picture soundtrack by Radiohead. There are a few artists who are masters in their fields. So yes I will suggest Radiohead and Bjork. Aurora has a similar quality as that of Radiohead.
      Just in case you aren't familiar with Radiohead, their music takes a little bit of time to digest, but it's filled with beautiful ambient music

    One thing I love about Aurora is that men are as important to her as women are.
    She wrote a song called The river. The song is addressed to men because 70% of suicides are men❤

    The 'white horses on the waves' always reminds me of the beeeeautiful '82 animated film, 'The Last Unicorn', where King Haggard (voiced by Christopher Lee - He played Saruman in LoTR) captures and hoards all of the unicorns in the sea by his castle and you can see them rising on the crest of the waves; the beauty of it struck and tugged at my little child soul and I watched it over and over 🙃 In fact, I have a hoodie somewhere around here with that very scene printed on it and now I must go watch the movie for the 10 bazillionth time🦄 💕 I would actually die happy if Aurora ever covered the song from that movie

    • @SaeedReacts.
      @SaeedReacts.  10 месяцев назад +2

      Havent seen that one. Love Christopher Lee!

    • @whoroborous
      @whoroborous 10 месяцев назад +2

      @SaeedReacts. Christopher Lee was apparently a big fan of the book, and he showed up to the recording sessions with an annotated copy that he had made notes in, that he would show to the director and be like, ‘We have to have this part. This part has to be in the scene.'
      The author of 'The Last Unicorn, Peter S. Beagle, (who actually penned his obituary) said that, 'he never failed to mention The Last Unicorn as one of his very favorite books, and as one of the movies he was most proud of having made. Indeed, he left me whopperjawed - as Mark Twain would have put it - when we were being interviewed together on Austrian television, and he announced, “Oh, yes, I simply couldn’t resist a chance to play King Haggard one more time, even in another language. After all -” and he looked straight into the camera - “it’s the closest they’ll ever let me get to playing King Lear.” The camera swung toward me to catch my stunned reaction, and Chris looked across the studio at me and winked.'
      (...)
      'On the last occasion, when I had called to wish him a happy 90th birthday, I remember him assuring me that “if, by the time you come to make your live-action version of your movie, I have passed on, do not let it concern you. I have risen from the dead several times. I know how it’s done.'
      💓
      It's really.. meloncholy, and mature for an animated film. It touches on identity, loss of the 'enchantment' in life, loneliness, regret, but -- ultimately (to me, at least) it is about learning to .. let GO and find the beauty in that which is fleeting and inevitable, and accepting that the transitory nature of love and life is the very thing that MAKES it most beautiful.. Also, it is positively star-studded: Alan Arkin, Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges, Angela Landsbury, Robert Klein, Tammy Grue (who gives one of, if not THE best voice-over performance of all time.)
      SORRY I got excited!! 😬 i love that shit so much -- mk, here's a clip i'll shut up now:

    So delicate and soothing to the soul. Then there is one thing that I totally agree with; men are also human, have feelings, hurt and don't as easily talk about it so it is brushed aside. Love works both ways and we should really SEE each other. Words can sometimes be empty without deeds. Everyone sometimes needs a hug. Greetings from South Africa

    Loved this reaction and I love that you listen to the lyrics🥰
    Her first love song😍
    The vocals, guitar and other parts of the song are the same as in the very first (demo) recording of the song.
    Asked about her experience directing the music video, she said:
    "It was wonderful! I love directing videos, and I tend to enjoy being in control. Especially when it comes to my own art. During times like these (pandemic), you have to get a little extra creative. Which I enjoy. We had to keep it local, and simple. But that seemed to be the perfect thing for this song. Everything I am wearing is also self-made by me and my sisters out of old clothes. Very fun."
    Looking forward to “A Potion For Love” which was written at the same time (2017) and is the sister song to this but seen from the other perspective❤️

    Thanks for getting to these so quickly, Saeed! I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts, as always. Aurora is a big champion for tolerance and acceptance, and being able to love whoever you want, so your thoughts about that "forbidden" line is well taken! You're right that this has a really old-timey feel. A big reason why I prefer the music video over her also great live versions is that the music video and the production of the studio version captures retro feel that so well.
    Regarding your thoughts about "men" specifically, I'm reminded of Aurora reading that suicide rates for men are much higher than they are for women. She surmised that's because men are taught to bottle up their emotions, and she was inspired to write "The River" about letting your emotions be free. Fantastic song that has been on her setlist for years, and also has one of her most creative music videos.
    Thanks again, looking forward to "Potion for Love."

      Thank you so much for introducing me to this one. She really is an amazing artist and human being. That line hit me hard, because ive lost so many male friends and family members. And exactly for that reason. Not talking and the feeling of shame bigger than to the ability to open up. Devestating. Beautiful song about love, tolerance and acceptance. Potion for Love reaction coming tonight. Thanks again and have a wonderful day ❤️

    nice reaction, comprehensible thought process. as this song is from the album 'the gods we can touch', this song is dedicated to 'aphrodite', the goddess of love. can't wait for 'a potion for love'.

    This nis one of the great love songs. Aurora has captured that feeling of being in love, that love before it matures into that of a long term relationship. "The Gods we can touch" is an album to love, in all it's aspects.

    Thanks for the great reaction! Wow, I'm really impressed by your deep thought. Many people take this song as a simple love song, but it's definitely not. It was released during the COVID lockdown, and Aurora later said that she made it sound old-fashioned to comfort elderly people who have been feeling lonely.

    This has to be one of the PUREST love songs ever written, it really captures the essence of true love unlike any other modern love song, imho ;?)
    And the retro feel of the video is amazing, it has the feel of something from the 1930's-40's along with an art deco vibe (and that pose at the end seems like a blend of an Egyptian queen with the Birth of Venus, goddess of love).
