    Aurora sang the song only once in public and that was at her friend's funeral.

      Yeah, and it was Feb 2014, so this is her voice at 17, and she wrote this beautiful song at 17.

      Especially because I've always believed the girl being sung about was beyond a friend. Aurora is openly bi sexual so I have no problem saying this. The lyric "darling it will be alright" is far more intimate than you'd say to parents or friends. As someone whos lost a loving mate, it makes the song all the more heartbreaking.

      @timgrodesky4694 So agree with you. I can't even listen to the first lines of the song without breaking into tears. To be able to do it so beautifully in front of her friend's coffin and her family - I would have sobbed the lyrics.
      @ronaldmcrae4896
      No, it wasn't Aurora who was her girlfriend. The girl she sings about/to had a boyfriend. He was the one driving the car. They were 4 friends in the car, but only __ died.The 3 others survived. Poor boy, losing his girlfriend, and the group of friends losing one of their friends...
      The online newspaper articles about the funeral and the accident are still available.
      So to speculate on whether A. should also have a romantic relationship with her too, I don't think anyone should do. Not our business either.
      Yes I see your point regarding the line in the lyrics... but maybe "darling" is meant more as dear - like dear friend. "Kjære" in norwegian can be translated to both and the 17 y.o girl that wrote it was after all a norwegian teenager in 2014.
      Finaly yes, she has said that she has had both boyfriend(s) and girlfriend(s) hasn't she?

My mom is 104 and physically healthy, and she doesn't remember who I am, but siting with her is a joy. Each of us are different and there is no formula to ease the grief. We will just deal with it in our own way and there is no time table.

    This was written and performed for the mother of Auroras friend who died in a car accident. It was never intended for release. The girls mother posted it on social media along with a message from Aurora. After it made its way to RUclips and her mother read all the comments from people who were helped by this song she said "it belongs to everyone who needs it now". I will not post names to maintain their privacy. Thanks for the reaction.

      It was posted in January 2017, near the 3rd commemoration day remembering her daughter with a video full of clips of her with Aurora's song playing.
      The mother wrote this about the song (translated from Norwegian):
      It is such a lovely song. It is beautifully written and at the same time so infinitely sad.
      and then she quotes Aurora:
      It is important that the song can be cried to. That it is reminiscent of grief at the same time that it can relieve a little. This song is her song. And it always will be. I only had her in mind when I sang it, and I think a little part of her is in it if you listen extra carefully.

I've had very simular experiences in my life, but I will spare you for those😏. All I can say is that the feeling of loss never goes away, but it becomes easier to handle. Hi ashena, this is the song I wrote you about some time ago without mentioning its name. I knew you would get to it one way or another. Sad and so beautiful ..... (I have to say that when I heard it for the first time, the text seemed unfinished, too simple, that it is not a text in the style of Aurora, but then I realized how much time the composition between death and at the funeral at which she wanted to comfort the family with that song. Then I listened to it a few more times and it completely blew me away, I left it out of my playlist this is the last time I've heard it) Tears don't flow when listening to it he hasn't lost anyone, I've lost too many of them, so as beautiful as this song is (and it is without a doubt) it's always out of my play list, because Aurora can so easily touch even the most painful parts of ourselves.

It took me years to get to the point where I didn't cry thinking about her, which I thought about her a lot. I agree, you don't get over it, you just get use to the pain. @@ashlenamusic heartache, it is similar to physical pain in the way that, well, when you have chronic physical pain, you just adjust and get used to it, much like grief and heartache. Life is not meant for children to die before their parents. But it happens and Aurora coped with them with the help she could give to the friend's parents. I've lost a lot of close people in my life and you don't get over it, but with time you learn to live with it. Remembering a lost person will always hurt and the only thing that helped me with the pain was to start by remembering all the good experiences you have had and smile with the person in mind. Thank you very much for sharing your feelings and thoughts with us and you have once again shown me why I like you. Hug your daughter and family and remind yourself why you live and for whom.

      @@ashlenamusic it's somehow wired. you recorded it a week ago ahead and just because you didn't realized it was on par with the other 'sos ole bull concert' reaction a week before. we people tend to find patterns to give things meaning, like seeing a face in the sand. 'what happend to the heart' is her next album title and i think it has some healing songs on it. sixteen tracks, concert tour called 'what happend to the earth? part I'.

    Yes, at the biggening Aurora did not want this song to get out and was planning to take it down due to how personal it was to her., However after seeing how this song has helped out so many people to get over their own grief she decided to allow it to remain, So I think you should be ok when it comes to copyright. Its not my place to say, but the context behind why this song was made and learning about it make me cry even harder whenever I hear the song.

    Damn Aurora, got me crying within about 30 seconds in to the song. I felt every word of this song. I lost my mom just over 5 years ago, so this song really hit deep. I think maybe for some people it may get better, but doesn't mean it will for everyone. I'm in a bit better place since my mom passed, but it took time. I was angry at the world for a bit. Ps. I also listen it very rare as it is so personal and make me cry or very emotional. You are right, it doesn't get better with time, it gets bearable with time. Lost my wife of 33 yrs 15 yrs ago and the idea of the "Five Stages of Grief" is also crap. I've never been been able to get past the anger. Only listen to this when reactors play it and makes me cry every time so don't really know why I do.

      Same here. The anger I hold in my heart for her being gone doesn’t go away. Sorry I made you cry 🙈

    I can’t wait for the new album to be released on June 7th. In the latest interview, she talked about the upcoming album, and it’s quite intriguing. she specified that the album will have a very different sound from her last three singles, and she enjoy surprising fans with something unique in each single. Moreover, she mentioned that this album is the most personal one they’ve written so far. It promises to be rich and substantial, with 16 tracks for an hour of listening. I added the link to his latest interview, which lasts about half an hour. It's really interesting and provides insights into the new album ruclips.net/video/A6x1DdMqxdk/видео.html

    When you come to the UK please go to the Eden Valley in NW England. Bring a daughter.

      Why??

      @jonathanwetherell3609 6 месяцев назад +1

      Several reasons. One Eden may appreciate the same name. Two, it's beautiful and not on the tourist trail. Three, it's a great base for the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, the North Pennines and Hadrians Wall.@@ashlenamusic

    Brings a lot of old grief up, this song. I lost someone dear to me 24 years ago, it never leaves your mind and heart completely. She captured my grief in this song.

    I can't! No matter how many times I hear this, it breaks me. Even when she doesn't mean to, every song she sings takes us on the journey with her. And whoever we have lost in this life, just tears our heart right out anew. How in the world she managed to sing and play that at the funeral with such clarity, I can't even imagine.

    Hi Ashlena, I'm sorry about your loss. There's a couple of songs I would rather not hear again, although they are lovely songs, by other artists. There's a recent interview with Aurora by NME where she discusses her forthcoming album What Happened To The Heart, due out in June,
