I fully understand you mentioning wanting to own all of AURORA's vinyls one day. The same goes to me. I've been listening to pop music and rock music for almost 40 years now, and have been a admirer of many bands and artists over the years. But there are no other artists than AURORA and Sigrid who made me collecting all of their albums on both CD and vinyl, and travelling abroad to see them performing live. They both are someone special. Last October I flew to Norway to see Sigrid performing live twice in Bergen, and this March I am travelling to Norway to see AURORA performing live in her place of birth Stavanger.

The album version of "Murder Song" has so many qualities. I for one really enjoy Auroras studio work. There are so many layers that would be almost impossible to replicate on stage. She is quite the musical genius. I hope that people would start to appreciate her studio work a bit more. Case in point, "Your Blood" Auroras version from Bejing was hauntingly beautiful, but I have to say, that studio version was just Epic. Layers upon layers upon layers. Compare that song with pretty much any song on the top fifty US chart and you will understand that Aurora is special. Don't get me wrong. I do understand why people are drawn to her live performances. Aurora is magic on stage. As one said; "I want to close my eyes and listen but I can't. My eyes are transfixed on this creature in front of me". Yes, she truly has that power. All I'm saying is that her studio work ain't shabby, lol. Love from Norway Ash.

Under Stars has always been one of my favorite Aurora songs, but the live version she does at Nidarosdomen is absolute perfection. I've never heard this remix before, but I like it. Electronic music is where my roots are. I love this little vapor trap version of Under Stars. I have a ton of music like this if you're ever in need of a playlist. 😂 Also, you can really hear the Bjork influence in "Wisdom Cries". All of those little sounds in the background remind me very much of Bjork.

  • @TomTomson81

You're absolutely right. Running with the wolves song would be a perfect intro before aurora goes on stage.

Beautiful reaction as always!!! Was really fun listening to all those songs. Under Stars is one of my favorites and it’s such an early song from her, before the first album. I’ve never heard that remix but it’s awesome, it kept all the original elements for the most part. Same as Mr. Tambourine Man, I’ve never heard the studio version but that sounded great. Not surprising she’d do a cover as she loves Bon Dylan.

Magical. Aurora performed Under Stars at Nidarosdomen. There are other lives performances too, such as Glastonbury. Or her intimate singing at her piano on her “For The Metal People” livestream. 🧡 In this collection I just love her beautiful singing of Bob Dylan’s Mr Tamborine Man ❤️

Loved your reaction. 😍 You were probably told on Patreon that you heard Under Stars from Nidarosdomen. I love that song and her live performance of it from Nidarosdomen is perfection, if you want to revisit to remember, I would love to have it on your poll. What can I say, I love Aurora Tuesdays, you are fantastic, she is fantastic, it is a great combination. I will love Aurora forever, she is so much more than a voice, she is everything great in the music industry and also a wonderfully weird and kind human. Thanks Ashlena. 😍

I think you miss the title track: All My Demons. It's an unreleased song that Aurora or someone didn't want on the album, probably because it's about dying and no radio friendly melody, but its very unique and good enough to be on the album in my opinion. The studio version demo leaked so it's on yt (best version by user "F.S Produced", it says remix in title but it's only some fixed levels I think). There's also a lyrics video of a live audio that's even better (by user "zero", although wrong lyrics in one place, correct is probably "comfort" but video writes "coffin"). You could do both versions in the same reaction video if you like the song. A lot better song than most in this delux reaction I think.

Greetings Ash 🧡(do you mind if I call you that?) I thought you were reacting to the song "All My Demons Greeting Me as A Friend", but these are songs from that album. I don't know if you did a reggae for this particular song, I heard it once no she is much preferred, I don't know why. It is also not quite clear to me why Aurora made an album from which she omitted the title song. With those vinyls, it's a must for people who ❤ Aurora's singing

  • @Retro_Painter

Thanks for this reaction! By the way, you have already heard “Under Stars” when you did the Nidarosdomen Concert (Part 1)- it was the third song. I can see why you liked the remixes but do you think that perhaps the meaning of the lyrics get a bit lost when they are “deconstructed” into a something meant for another purpose? (Kind of like using one of Rembrandt’s masterpiece group portraits on the cover of the box to sell cigars.) Obviously, Aurora had no issue with this as these remixes were included on the deluxe version of her album, but it’s just a thought.
Oh, and there is a beautiful black and white Vevo video of this version of “Murder Song 54321” that you should definitely take a look at. It was also good to hear Wisdom Cries again as it rarely is reacted to. Although it’s not on my personal listening playlist I am nonetheless impressed by the sophisticated use of experimental sounds, unusual half-tones, and dissonance that still creates a fascinating and cohesive soundscape. She really is continually surprising.

As always it is beautiful to start this day of the week from your Aurora reaction :). It was nice to finish together deluxe version. Some random comments:
Acoustic version of Murder song is my favorite version of song.
Wisdom Cries for me is something like experimental song. It has some very interesting elements in it. It is not a song I listen often (usually when I listen full album in the car :) ) but I appreciate the experimental sound in it.
Generally I am not a big fan of remixes as I prefer original versions but I really like some of them like f.e. Running with the Wolves and Under the Stars (but still originals are better :) ). BTW: there are great live version of Under the Stars in Nidarosdomen concert :).

    Aurora - Famous Blue Raincoat (Leonard Cohen-cover) : ruclips.net/video/Oaf0gzQSiOM/видео.html
There is an interesting back story to this one:
Back in 2017 there was a Leonard Cohen-tribute concert called "So Long, Leonard Cohen".
Christer Falck was project manager and he remembered seeing that Aurora was a great fan of Leonard Cohen and his music, so he decided to contact her management to see if she would be interested in participating ...
15 minutes later he got an enthusiastic "YES!"

Just one more tip for you Ashlena, or for all of you here in the chat. Either for reaction or just for watching. I think you would love it. It is a beautiful and deep song „I have Seen it All“ sang by Bjork in the movie/musical The Dancer in the Dark. The main character (Selma/Bjork) in the movie is a young innocent woman/mother, who is slowly loosing eyesight and loves to escape her troubled life by imagining music in the ordinary sounds that surround her. In her fantasy she transforms the sounds into a song in which she interprets the world the way she would love it to be. Its magical. The movie is directed by famous director Lars von Trier and is original and beautiful, and very emotionally intense. What fascinated me about Bjork in this movie was that she allegedly almost did not finish the shooting, because during the making of the movie she basically became the main character, and the events in the movie brought her almost to a breakdown. There is an official soundtrack version of this song, but the version from the movie is definitely the one to watch: ruclips.net/video/N8FJyhnC2Eo/видео.html
