I can't believe this is the first time I'm listening to this reaction by you! Again, you are completely on point with all of my feelings/reactions/vibrations (!) with these guys. Geoff is my favorite; his bass just completely knocks me out of my chair. But the others are not far behind in terms of voice, beatbox, sheer amazingness! Yeah, I knew you were going to go nuts over it. THIS is why I say my favorite VoicePlay song is "the next one". I love the visual glitches, and how it just gives... a feeling like they're breaking the computer simulation they're in by how amazingly well they're doing. On top of that, the degree to which things just... bounce around between the singers, and the way they play with the timing of the musical elements is just... next tier. They did such a good job with this one on every level.
OMG! Now that you said it, I can't stop thinking of Caesar doing a Michael Jackson song. The first thing that popped up in my mind was "Smooth Criminal". I can just imagine the expert layering they'd do in the chorus with the "Annie are you okay?" I can also imagine them doing "Beat it" and recreating the fight scene but obviously dancing rather than fighting.
So many reactors have been jamming, playing air drums and singing along to this one, it's glorious. 😂 The Backstreet Boys song I'd love to hear them do is Larger than Life--even if it was just a mini.

This is pretty amazing. My percussion-obsessed brain couldn't quite believe they would be able to pull off that iconic drum riff. Guess I was wrong about that, huh? Fabulous job by Layne. And I loved the stompin'. And I will now have the Miami Vice opening montage playing in my head for the rest of the day.
I had a very similar reaction when Layne started singing too. From that point on I didn't realize I was half holding my breath and didn't breath normally till after it finished the first time I watched it. It was incredible and so glad you loved it. Also I like the new shelves with more display.

It’s so much fun watching you get into these songs. I have to say if personal life stuff hadn’t happened in the last few weeks this would have been on repeat a whole lot. It will be once things settle and I can get into music again. Meanwhile, it’s just all my favorite things about Voiceplay-hearing more and more what Cesar can do (and he’s crushing it), hearing J.None, and Layne singing and slaying the percussion, Geoff laying down amazing bass, and Eli going full-on rock god! I will always associate this song with that show, as they used it in the sound track many times, and clearly Miami Vice and early days of MTV were the inspiration for the production design here. Geoff or Layne could have easily dressed as Crockett, in pastels and three-day scruff. Instead Geoff said he looks like a character in an after-school special. As others have said, it was Kathy's idea to cut off his shirt sleeves. "Is that for you or for me?" "It's for the world." Why does Voice play always have JNone singing with them. Can't they do this without him. If they can't they should just make him part of the group. It's very good......but God Tier. Raise your bar. Listen to some early Hall and Oats (Sara Smile) or Marvin Gaye. Voiceplay are great and it's a good arrangement and it's impressive but not "God" Tier. Good reaction.

Everyone is just killing it in this one! The 80s vibes is looking so good on Geoff, and Layne is going next level on the percussion. I agree about the BSB sound in Layne's voice, but I'm leaning towards it being Howie D instead of Nick 😊

As a whole the group seems to be bringing out more frequently a rockier side that I'm loving. I was always a bit "meh - it's ok" about this song but this version is outstanding and I love it!

Cardona (brother of Omar Jose Cardona you know from Dream on and The Dragonborn Comes) also joins couple songs of Voiceplay you haven't reacted to yet. E.J. belts just as long as Dimash! And Kate Lott, the soprano in Voctave, sings maybe the highest you ever heard, certainly in A capella!

Every one of these puts them in the top tier of musical performances, NEVER MIND that they are a capella, which just adds to the amazingness. (I kept wanting to add more names to the list, like the Wicked Medley and Hoist the Colors, etc., but you have to stop somewhere!)
Also, note that three videos since January have featured J None, going to far as to fly him in special to participate. I'm thinking they have every intention of folding him right back into the group permanently when his term in the Navy is finished. I really hope they continue to bring in people like Omar and Anthony and Ashley (and so many more...) to make a sixth "floating" position" just because they have all worked SO WELL with the group and their voices are extraordinary. They proved with the Wicked medley that six aren't too many... :)
Do you think Layne has been waiting all his life for that moment? :) VP have done MJ of course but it was before Cesar. Man in The MIrror, when J was about to leave them. They may be persuaded to do another, you never know. Love your reaction. All that head banging :)

Why does Voice play always have JNone singing with them. Can't they do this without him. If they can't they should just make him part of the group. It's very good......but God Tier. Raise your bar. Listen to some early Hall and Oats (Sara Smile) or Marvin Gaye. Voiceplay are great and it's a good arrangement and it's impressive but not "God" Tier. Good reaction.
J. None was a permanent member of VoicePlay until he joined the Navy. He comes back as a featured guest whenever he can.
