Really agree with what you said about the Blue smelter demon being the perfect size for a boss. I think that’s one of the reasons I love fighting Godfrey so much
Gael is a perfection, there's no boss that is more satisfying to fight. His moveset fits your move capability perfectly, like you can fight him with UGS or a dagger and you'll still feel comfortable enough. Man, EVERYBODY is sleeping on Aava’s introduction! That shit was epic! Alsanna’s monologue as you approach the boss door did an amazing job hyping me up for the boss and making me feel on edge. I’ve always felt like fromsoft shines a lot more in its dlc They take their time with the feedback from the main game release and give us the best of content Dlc is clearly not casual territory, it’s meant for hardcore fans and you can tell just by the difficulty amps DLCs always give us exactly what we want from them which is why I’m really eager for Elden ring, i genuinely think that they will sort out all our gripes about balancing with the dlc
Sister friede is def my fav out of all the dlcs I played, because I knew about her 2nd phase before going into the fight, so when me and my friend killed her, I turned around and started talking to him saying something like “yeah I knew about her second phase but still that was such a fun fight!” And he goes “uh…..Uh??…..AHHHHHHHHH” and I turn around and friede is in the air with her black flame scythe and I have never felt more fear in a souls game since, so yah, she’s my fav
Funny thing is that, I enjoy the Maria fight and tight parry windows so much that while others R1 spam, I just parry the whole time due to how satisfying it is!
Your first point is already wrong. You don't have to buy the DLC to get access to the Gank Squad - they are included in the base game. You can beat them in Coop without owning the DLC as they are part of their Try Before You Buy campaign. And it's also not a troll. It's not unbalanced just because it's hard solo - as the optional Coop Challenge of that DLC they are balanced around coop. It's the Raid Dungeon of that DLC and those Coop Challenges are included in the base game. These areas have an increased summoning limit and allow you to get summoned even if you don't own the DLC. Complaining that they are an unfairly hard troll boss is like doing an Uber Boss in Diablo solo and then complaining that it's too hard. Just summon 3 people and outgank them.
I need some help making a decision. I don't know If I should buy and play DS3. I love Elden Ring and Sekiro but only got like 7 hours in ds1 before deciding that I didn't like it. I am just really torn between buying Ds3 or not.
I still think Burnt Ivory being at #12 is slander but I'm at least glad he did get some respect. He is one of my favorite bosses in any game, ever. I much prefer him to both Alonne and Fume Knight. His lore significance, the spectacle, dropping into the arena with the Loyce Knights, the team battle between you and the Loyce Knights and the Charred Loyce Knights, then finally seeing the Burnt Ivory King emerge from a massive portal of flames once only you and one of your Loyce Knights remain after the others sacrificed themselves to shut down the portals summoning more Charred Loyce Knights. That and in my personal opinion the King has the most enjoyable moveset to dodge in the game. Also his boss theme is dope.
All the hype for Artorias was underwhelming for me I guess kind of like your thoughts about Kalameet. Didn’t take long to learn his move set and ended up killing him after a few deaths. I even thought sanctuary guardian was more difficult. When I fought sanctuary guardian I almost killed him the first attempt, but then after that due to his aggressive nature I struggled hard. Manus though. Manus might be my favorite boss from Dark Souls 1 because he has so many moves and they are all so quick once you learn all of them you think you’re ready to kill him but then his second phase magic attacks absolutely make you question your life. All of his physical attacks are so quick but predictable making it fun. Then preparing for the magic moves is so anticipating and nerve wrecking. Definitely died to him the most. Kalameet would be a bit better if I could find a way to doge his lunging attacks without taking damage
Sister Friede is my absolute favorite boss in all of Soulsborne, very closely followed by Slave Knight Gael. Her design is perfection. Honorable mention to the Demon Prince also, we really don’t deserve the DS3 DLCs.
Honestly, I think a big issue a lot of people have who come into the Fromsoft series starting at Elden Ring, Bloodborne, or Dark Souls 3. Is that they get used to a lot of powerful and tanky bosses. But when Kalameet came out in DS1.There wasn't any other boss like it. The arena was cool, and the fact that if you started the fight, you would most likely die unless you did the mission to cripple Kalameet's wings. But then you look at DS2 and onwards. And you can see that more and more bosses are on the same scale if not bigger then Kalameet. So if you played DS3 first and fought Midir. No other boss in the Souls series will compete really. I think this is an issue a lot of people have. Fromsoft games reach more and more of an audience with new releases. So people play it, enjoy it. And want to experience more. Just for them to go back to older entries in the series and never being able to experience the thrill and fun as you would've if you played them as they came out or in that order.
yeah dark souls 1 was pretty underwhelming being my last game in the series (aside from BB and Des cuz I dont have a console), but hell if I started with that instead of ds3, I think I would have liked it more. still enjoyed the game a lot, ds1 and 2 truly have a nice charm to them. I also tried original DeS on ps3 emulator and uhh yeah, the nexus was the end of my journey Also forgot to say that today I did nameless king ng+ and dancer ng+2 and they completely kicked my ass, pretty crazy that ds3 released only 2 years after ds2 with the huge boss leap
Living failure is an anomaly. Like it wasn't ever planned on being an actual boss(cause it really isn't mechanically). The fact that beating it creates a lamp, 2 feet from the next boss maria and after beating maria there's another lamp that spawns a literal two feet next to the living failure one just always seemed so odd to me and very much unlike typical fromsoft design. Also unpopular opinion but I loved laurence's fight. The way you get to him. The cutscene before fighting him, his second phase literally had me jump from my seat screaming as he clawed his way screeching at me. Was honestly an overall easy but thrilling fight
Orphan of Kos is such a near-perfect fight from a gameplay perspective. He's hard as fuck but unlike Malenia it never really feels like BS. I only wish you could dodge the lightning without running in the water (though on the other hand it's really badass fighting the boss on water)
Elana is too low. It is one of the best double-fights in the series. You have a melee character with a magic boss that complement each other very well and give you an interesting thought dilemma of who to focus on.
@@_noahbury6_it doesn't even make sense lore wise too, Veldstadt was Vendrick's knight, not of the unnamed sunken king, he would make sense with Nashandra but not Elana a completely unrelated character
I honestly think that blue smelter demon is the 2nd best reskin boss in the series after Champion Gundyr. However I hate Friede, her moveset is for Bloodborne and not for DS3, most of the third phase is dodging back because she doesn't stop
The gank fights just aren't for me while the demon prince was enjoyable i would've definitely put ludwig over it 1.Gael 2.Friede 3.lady Maria 4.Orphan of kos 5. Ludwig

@masonmccarthy9057 You can say it's a bad boss, but to call it lazy is just not true. It's a balanced gank. One is passive, one is aggressive. The Demon Prince has a different moveset depending on which demon you kill last. Every attack they do is easily dodgeable with the exception of the meteor attack. And if you're getting 1-2 shot in Dark Souls 3, you definitely don't have enough health.

His 2nd phase is significantly easier than his first and the best part of the song barely gets to play because his 2nd phase is over in like 30 seconds. Also, his drop from the ceiling attack is pretty annoying.
Everything about him other than the 2nd half of the fight is perfect.
@@tahireedharder doesnt mean better if that’s the case I think orphan is your favourite
I like a boss which is difficult but not too much and he’s a fun biss
@@s35ii0 I know harder doesn't mean better. That doesn't change the fact that he "powers up" and becomes weaker. That is poor design. Period.
@@tahireed tbh it depends on the person bc the 2nd phase has some really strong moves and all the moves are strong tbh just some can one shot you of you aren’t prepared I found the first harder on my first try on my 2nd I found both were hard in different ways so it depends on the person
@@s35ii0 They aren't strong moves though. I could eat an entire combo from his sword but not from his beast form. His only strong move in phase 2 can be easily dodged because he takes really long to charge the move.
Really agree with what you said about the Blue smelter demon being the perfect size for a boss. I think that’s one of the reasons I love fighting Godfrey so much
I'm having a hard time deciding between Lady Maria, Ludwig, and Slave Knight Gael, as the best dlc boss.
For me my top 3 DLC bosses have be Gael, Orphan, and Friede all perfect bosses in their own way. honorable mention to Ludwig
Yeah, perfect...
*Cries on 3 phase Friede all being at full health*
@@zalabit927 Friede took me 2 days to beat lol. It got to the point where I could beat her taking no damage because of all the attempts
HES NOT DEAD, HE IS ALIVEEEEEEEE
Gael is a perfection, there's no boss that is more satisfying to fight. His moveset fits your move capability perfectly, like you can fight him with UGS or a dagger and you'll still feel comfortable enough. And his story throught the game and placement in the lore is just brilliant. Best boss ever, not only in souls, but overall the best of all games.
I love the respect shown to my boi Blue Coolaid! Still one of my favourite (probably the best) reskins he gets new timings that really did me in the first few times, run back sucks, but pure boss, I really like it!
15 minutes Blockbuster, lets goooo🎉🎉🎉( you‘re my favorite youtuber)
He’s not dead? I can’t believe it
He not dead 😱
rent must be due
Ember used an ember
It’s been like 2 weeks
Only played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 from this list. I did Slave Knight Gael first time. Awesome fight, but maybe I need to fight him again to fully appreciate it. Ludwig was actually my favourite.
Man, EVERYBODY is sleeping on Aava’s introduction! That shit was epic! Alsanna’s monologue as you approach the boss door did an amazing job hyping me up for the boss and making me feel on edge. The fight was okay but that, for lack of a better phrase, in-game cutscene made it five times more memorable!
I saw how ypu reffered to Ariandel as "Friede's father",in case ypu don't know,Ariandrl isn't actually Friede's father, the father in his title likely means "priest" as a corvian NPC also refers to him as "our father".
Blue Smelter demon over Kalameet is insane
If I had to give my top 3 Soulsborne dlcs would be
1. Burnt Ivory King
2. Old Hunters
3. Ringed City
Honestly, the Ivory King is not only my least favourite DLC is DS2, but my least favourite in all the Souls games overall.
In DS2, my favourite is definitely the Sunken King DLC
I always dread fighting Ivory King. That stupid gank before the actual fight is mainly the reason.
@@yourdad5799 Is it not a gank when you have the knights to help? In any case Elleyum Lloyce is a gorgeous environment. Ironically has more to explore in a DLC than Anor Londo did in a main game.
@@torakandwolf6786 The knights don't really help so It's still a bad gank either way. The environment is just snow and brick, pretty ugly and bland. The exploration is good yes, before Elden ring this level was the only one where you felt like you were exploring an actual city. Still preffer the other DLCs by far but it's not the most terrible level ever
@@crow1460mine is iron king due to it having good level design and great bosses, albeit some unfair areas. Sunken crown is definitely the most fair dlc out of the 3 and has some of the best level design in any fromsoft game
can we have a ranking vid of ember ranking ember ranking videos? 6/5 would watch
I thought this came out ages ago. Pretty good list! Here’s mine from least to most favorite:
-Gank squad
-Lud & Zallen
-Halflight
-Gravetender
-Failures
-Aava
-Guardian
-Elana
-Blue Smelter
-Laurence
-Kalameet
-Sinh
-Ivory King
-Alonne
-Artorias
-Manus
-Maria
-Ludwig
-Demons
-Midir
-Gael
-Fume
-Friede
-Orphan
Gael at 4 is wild to me
Living failures is actually amazing. Because there is a bug where you get hundreds of millions of echoes for killing them a certain way.
I’ve always felt like fromsoft shines a lot more in its dlc
They take their time with the feedback from the main game release and give us the best of content
Dlc is clearly not casual territory, it’s meant for hardcore fans and you can tell just by the difficulty amps
DLCs always give us exactly what we want from them which is why I’m really eager for Elden ring, i genuinely think that they will sort out all our gripes about balancing with the dlc
Lets gooo ember my bro uploads again!
No fcking way he said lady Maria was easy. She had me crying 😭
My opinion
23: king’s pet
22: living failures
21:halflight
20:gravetender
19:elana
18:aava
17:sanctuary guardian

8:midir
7:fume
6:artoris
5:orphan of kos
4:lady Maria
3:friede
2:Ludwig
1:gael
Funny thing is that, I enjoy the Maria fight and tight parry windows so much that while others R1 spam, I just parry the whole time due to how satisfying it is!
Great list, and I love seeing Lady Maria get her spotlight! She's also my favorite Bloodborne boss
Ok but the living failures ost tho
Inner Ishin is best dlc boss
Bro casually put Ludwig outside of top 10 💀
Not sure if there is a Vaati video that says otherwise , but Ariandel is not actually Friede's father.
Glad to see Lady Maria and Sister Friede made the top 3 :) I also 100% agree with your top 3 for sure!
Living failures are kinda cool ngl
Ludwig at 10 is wild
Glad to see some love for Demon Prince(s). Favorite DS3 boss.
I need some help making a decision. I don't know If I should buy and play DS3. I love Elden Ring and Sekiro but only got like 7 hours in ds1 before deciding that I didn't like it. I am just really torn between buying Ds3 or not.
ye get it, its very close to elden rings fast paced combat
@@dorianpompa8409 Nevermind I like ds1 now
elden dlc had finally came out and we are still waiting for u
Yes sir bro reach 100 k big W I've seen this guy's shorts appear here and there the last time I checked him he was at 80k
Midir behind fume knight and sister friede is blasphemy. He’s such a good boss definitely my favourite in the series
Sister Friede is my absolute favorite boss in all of Soulsborne, very closely followed by Slave Knight Gael. Her design is perfection. Honorable mention to the Demon Prince also, we really don’t deserve the DS3 DLCs.
Unpopular opinion: Orphan of Kos and Lady Maria are the best DLC bosses. Not just because of the fights but the lore as well.
I also tried original DeS on ps3 emulator and uhh yeah, the nexus was the end of my journey
Also forgot to say that today I did nameless king ng+ and dancer ng+2 and they completely kicked my ass, pretty crazy that ds3 released only 2 years after ds2 with the huge boss leap
Ludiwg at 10? are you mentally ill? , ludwig is one of the best if not the best boss of all time
i think gael and freide is objectively the best fromsoft dlc bosses ever. Id be satisfied just seeing these 2 on top
What’s weirder is that it was given one of the best OSTs in Fromsoft history for a boss fight that has 1 good attack and the rest of it sucks.
Fume Knight, my beloved.
Orphan of Kos is such a near-perfect fight from a gameplay perspective. He's hard as fuck but unlike Malenia it never really feels like BS. I only wish you could dodge the lightning without running in the water (though on the other hand it's really badass fighting the boss on water)
His bs hitboxes are infact bs. Two tried him and only died the first time because of an attack that didn't hit me in the first place.
@@Hidden_lvl never experienced this. My first run of the DLC was in NG+ and it took a couple dozen attempts to beat him but I enjoyed it all
What do you mean you can't dodge the lightning? I always fight the Orphan on the ground, and you can just roll through the shockwave.
@@villelepoaho4105 Never tried rolling through it, I've always ran to where the gaps between shockwaves are
Elana is too low. It is one of the best double-fights in the series. You have a melee character with a magic boss that complement each other very well and give you an interesting thought dilemma of who to focus on.
Unless she summons the skeletons or the pigs
@@_noahbury6_it doesn't even make sense lore wise too, Veldstadt was Vendrick's knight, not of the unnamed sunken king, he would make sense with Nashandra but not Elana a completely unrelated character
EMBER ISN’T DEAD LETS GOOOOO
LETS GOOOOO
I honestly think that blue smelter demon is the 2nd best reskin boss in the series after Champion Gundyr.
However I hate Friede, her moveset is for Bloodborne and not for DS3, most of the third phase is dodging back because she doesn't stop
Now we’ve seen your ranking of the bosses…now let’s see the themes
I think Manus is my fave dlc boss tbh, it's just such a cool fight
It’s such a bummer that sekiro probably isn’t getting a dlc
The gank fights just aren't for me while the demon prince was enjoyable i would've definitely put ludwig over it
1.Gael
2.Friede
3.lady Maria
4.Orphan of kos
5. Ludwig
This is a good list. Me personally though I’d swap Ludwig with Maria.
Demon prince is not slept on, I always see people talking about how great it is.
Lol they're just a cheap gank boss with bloated health and cheap attacks that 1-2 shot you. Artificial difficulty = Mid
@@masonmccarthy9057This comment screams skill issue
@@ORCANORCA881 I soled them clown settle down. Btw I've soloed every souls game boss so I think I'm well within my right to call out a lazy boss design when I see one.
@@ORCANORCA881bosses in ng+/ng+2 cycles cut trough my hp like butter and I have 50 vitality, that puts me at 1300/1400 max hp
Are the outro complainers in the room with us right now?
No wayy ludwig is at number 10 the boss music itself easily takes it to first spot
from a technical aspect dodging and hitting with gael, he is the perfect boss.
wait... did you say Ariandel is Friede's father? He's a father, but only in the priest sense, they aren't actually related.
Oh yeah and it’s the Gank Squad. They will irritate you and then bore you to death. ☠️
Slave Knight Gael is my favorite
Ranking Demon Prince over Ludwig should be illegal
That outro was top tier
With this outro thing you starting to remind me of an Italian youtuber, he also hates outros lol
DS1 DLC bosses are just normal DS3 bosses (except for sanctuary guardian)
never get the love behind Gael dindt hate it but dindt like it. Midir however damn good boss every attack is fair really fun to dodge and almost like a cat and mouse game. best DLC for me is the Crown of the burnt ivory king, Yes XD even the frigid outskirts was fun if you dont stupidly rush in. but the burnt ivory king. Design story and combat wise nothing beats it,
Laurence has more moves than any other boss in bloodborne.......... not just cleric beast moveset rlly
@JuwyAla yeh, i get that my point is that he's not just a re skin, he's basically a new boss because he has like triple the moves 😂 Whereas blue smelter demon has the same moves as its original boss but just slowed down.
so... you're saying that Gael is the perfect Outro for Dark Souls series?
Lud and Zellen definitely gets the award of the WORST boss run of any game. Why did they think it was a good idea to make the frigid outskirts??
Lady Maria is one I just don’t get, I demolished her on my first attempt in literally 2-3 minutes by just repeatedly parrying her
Same for me she was so easy, even after I swore to myself not to parry anymore since it trivialises everything.
Great list, but did you seriously just put Blue Smelter Demon over Kalameet? (Said in the spirit of debate, not trying to be a jerk)
I don't think I've ever seen someone rank blue smelter that high. I honestly thought he forgot about the boss until it came up lmao
Tomoe of lightning could have been here. But miyazaki desired something else
Only good thing about the gank squad is the OST. Absolutely amazing song, did not deserve to be stuck on such a bad fight
13:30 OoK has 3 phases? Never noticed but the 2 obvious ones....guess he gets more aggro-ey near death? No idea honestly
