"I couldn't be in Doctor Who now because I'm old" WTF!? Tom, believe me, after your appearance in the 50th anniversary special, we STILL want you to come back, we LOVE you! You were amazing in the 50th anniversary special and you are still amazing now, we REALLY wouldn't say no to more cameos of you in Doctor Who! It doesn't have to be the stuff 12 (and the other new Doctors) does but a small walk on role like in the 50th would be enough for us. We love you, Tom, no matter how old you get, we will ALWAYS love you! Thank goodness your Doctor still live on in the Audio Books though.
+The Asian Doctor Who Nerd !!! You can't blame him really though. He'd done the role for 7 years and only left 2 years before. Plus at the time he wasn't getting along with John Nathan-Turner at all. So I can understand him not wanting to go back so soon after.
+Asian Doctor Who NEEERRRDDD yeah he didn't want to appear in the episode so soon after leaving but years later he would say he regretted turning it down
Our minds can be the tv and while we listen to his big finish stories we can just imagine the action going on, he may get old but he will still always be the Doctor in all our hearts.
Tom is still charming, humours, witty and charismatic. His personality is exactly as I remember him when I first watched Doctor Who as a child in the mid 70s . Seeing this video made me realize why I still consider Tom Baker the best doctor ever.
Owww Tom... As an American, born in the extreme rural area of the South, I first watched Tom Baker as the Doctor in 1976-77 on our PBS station. Tom Baker, Carl Sagan and William Shatner all forged me into the man I came to be. I raised 4 Sons and survived a myriad of life's tragedies through watching these amazing people...
Tom Baker is never too old to play The Doctor in audio. I love the Big Finish audio adventures, and when I listen to them, he looks the same as he did when I watched him play The Doctor when I was a child. I love the new series, but Tom Baker will always be my favorite Doctor.
On Nov. 23rd 2013 I was sitting in the Novotel at Birmingham Airport awaiting my wife's return from Tenerrife, watching the 50th Anniversary episode. I heard the first syllables of his speech and melted. Tom, you are a legend.
Why hasn't Tom Baker been Knighted? Tom Baker is the face of England to the rest of the world, period. He is by far the best and most popular Doctor. It's not even close. So glad to have this living legend still here with us. Make it happen England! (Patrick Stewart? Elton John??....and not Tom Baker? Rubbish!!)
+bigfinishprod Will Tom be doing anymore Big Finish productions in 2016? I want to start buying them. He will always be a brilliant actor, the best Doctor EVER in Doctor Who and a true legend. Please tell Tom he's not old and we want to see him back on T.V. He is loved because he's Tom....not the Doctor.
Oh my god the end of the video is so amazing when he's talking about the loch ness monster and how he still thinks about the brigadier, it really is almost like he has become the doctor
I'm so glad the part has given him so much pleasure. He is held in such affection by my generation, and when you see him as a person he is everything you would have hoped for too, so it is great that he seems to realise the affection he is held in. He does indeed seem to have been born to play that role.
"Well, I think if more people had more applause, it would make them feel better. I often give my wife a round of applause. If the meal is very good I give her a standing ovation." How could anyone not love this guy?
God he’s like that grandfather or great grandfather who had a really interesting life and you hold on every word he tells you because he just has this infectious joy and wonder.
Ah yes. Mr Tom Baker my favourite incarnation of the titular time lord. The episode was Terror of the Zygons. With the orange squishy squeaky whispering monsters who were shape changers. So many ☺ memories from my childhood. Thank you so much. Much health and good wishes. R.I.P Nicholas Courtney. Never forgotten Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge Stewart. Brigadier retired.
"Tom Baker" is the Doctor's Real Name. But hush, this is just between you and me and the internet. As everybody knows, the Doctor's name is a deep secret.
He signed my Doctor Who book at a book signing at Martin's Newsagents in the 1970's when I was 9 years old. He gave me the same smile and a jelly baby after he had signed the book (which I still have). A charming and wonderful man. Wish I'd kept that jelly baby now, though, instead of eating it! ;-)
He was my Doctor... and still is. Glad he's doing the audio adventures. Already met #8 Paul McGann and got his autograph. Now I need to meet #4 and get his.
I've played many original series stories for kids age 6 to 16 over the years and without exception, their favourite Doctor is Tom Baker. Got to love that man >.
Love this man he's my favourite Doctor & his bonkers eccentricity is always hilarious, Doctor Who especially Tom Baker's era got me through a very tough time in my personal life when suicide looked the only answer, this show kept me fighting, a constant friend that offered rich adventure by taking my mind away from my personal trauma into a world of magical adventure.
I may be 17 but Tom Baker was my very first Doctor I saw, then it was pertwee then some of Paul McGann through the audio and the movie which Paul and Sylvester where the best part.
From the very beginning there's never been a Doctor like you, nor will there ever be -- charming, quirky, hilarious, witty, total cutie! Never old, always loved and treasured. I started watching Doctor Who in the early 1970's and still watch it frequently as there's a Classic Doctor Who dedicated channel on the Roku Channel here in the US. God bless you for giving so much joy and laughter! ❤
Tom Baker - in addition to being a *splendid* *actor* - is also my *very* *favorite* *humorist* (alongside Tom Lehrer, Mark Twain + a select *few* *others* !!)
If anyone is up for the role of a Timelord...this guy is and was THE freaking Timelord. No doubt about that. Tom, YOU are the best of the role. Knight this man, England, for god's sake....goodbye.
What an absolute delight of a man. I've order all the Classic Doctor Who DVDs on Amazon, and I can't wait to sit back and watch Tom Baker. My Dad adored him as The Doctor growing up. I am so looking forward to enjoying for myself. WHAT. A. LEGEND! Definitely deserves a knighthood
tom baker is heroic he was my hero as a child and still is even to this day hearing him talk and seeing him as the actor and not the character was amazing he will always be dr who to me
Thank you so much for posting this. Tom Baker was my doctor at age 5 here in the US. I have listened to all his dvd audio commentaries. He is "one of a kind" for sure. I would love to have dinner with him.
+MrSontaran3 I third that. Such a sweetheart and so wonderfully witty and funny! Give Tom a freaking Knighthood already. What is the Queen waiting for?
Tom Baker was the last actor to play The Doctor who seemed to have an almost profound and utterly charming connection to children. All the others have been amazing. but none seemed to have held the character so near and dear to their hearts like Tom has. He truly IS The Doctor. The definite article.
Oh, the great Tom Baker - I could listen to him and his tales for hours on end! It's also great to see the Big Finish behind-the-scenes action on video, too, so it's a double-thanks for the upload :D
I just love these Tom Baker interviews. I would love to meet Tom, in my eyes, he is THE Doctor and a true legend. God bless you Tom. Thank you Big Finish !
I’ve met him. If you get the opportunity break all your engagements to see him. His gentleness and warmth radiates from before he even speaks. You will not be disappointed.
You know the Curator from Day of the Doctor, said to #11 that he'll revisit old faces soon but just the old favorites. I keep seeing Tom returning as the Curator cutting his retirement short and travels again in the TARDIS with new companions. We would get to learn about why he retired (maybe he killed the master or something.) he is a grandfather figure to his companions but with that childish persona of the fourth doctor. Then he'll finally regenerate into a more younger body. If not in the TV show then maybe a comic or big finish audio adventure. I want to. Read and see the adventure while hearing the voices of Tom Baker.
Tom is doing Big Finish Fourth Doctor audio adventures and in March of this year the first issue of the 5 part limited series of the "New Fourth Doctor adventures from Titan Comics came out. Each of the 5 issues of the comic book will feature several different collector covers. The 2nd issue comes out around April 25th, 2016. The first issue had both a great first part story and artwork. Most mainstream comic book shops in America carry it.
+David Anato That would be a fantastic idea. Tom could do audio adventures as the Curator for Big Finish and Titan Comics cold easily do a series with the Curator. Maybe all of us fans could send some emails or drop a quick letter to them.
Watching this again after watching both Tom's NHS tribute with the others and his more recent interview. Time hasn't been kind to Tom physically, but the man is just as charming and witty as ever. That's something you can just never take away from Tom.
I recently bought and thoroughly enjoyed the Fourth Doctor audio adventures 'The Justice of Jalxar', 'The Crooked Man' and 'The Evil One', having listened beforehand to 'Destination Nerva', 'The Renaissance Man', 'Energy of the Daleks' and 'The Dalek Contract/The Final Phase'. The new adventures of the Fourth Doctor are wonderful, and it was Tom Baker who had me instantly hooked onto Doctor Who when I laid eyes upon his scarf flapping in the cold quarry wind in 'Genesis of the Daleks' on DVD. Pass on my regards to the indomitable Tom Baker and wish him all the best from the fans who continue to enjoy his Caramel tones on audio as the Doctor.

TheLostLenore Do you know he actually refused/turned down being in the 20th Anniversary - The Five Doctors.
+The Asian Doctor Who Nerd !!! You can't blame him really though. He'd done the role for 7 years and only left 2 years before. Plus at the time he wasn't getting along with John Nathan-Turner at all. So I can understand him not wanting to go back so soon after.
You said that beautifully! I will always love Tom, his wit, talent and his many wonderful roles including his truly legendary Doctor.
+Asian Doctor Who NEEERRRDDD yeah he didn't want to appear in the episode so soon after leaving but years later he would say he regretted turning it down
TheLostLenore yep, he could take over the role tomorrow, like he was never away. omg, his face, and that voice all time #1💞
Tom, you will never grow old, you are a legend
Bradley Willard He is a Timelord, he's still only middle-aged
Toms face when he talks about Nicolas Courtney :(
It was a lovely tribute.
"I can't be Doctor Who now because i'm old" that broke my heart.
Broke my heart to. Tom made me cry when he said that. Come back to T.V. sir. You will never be old to us Tommy.
Our minds can be the tv and while we listen to his big finish stories we can just imagine the action going on, he may get old but he will still always be the Doctor in all our hearts.
In my mind whenever I listen to these audio dramas I see him as he was in the 70s
@@colinmcphan Tommy? 🤔
Tom is still charming, humours, witty and charismatic. His personality is exactly as I remember him when I first watched Doctor Who as a child in the mid 70s . Seeing this video made me realize why I still consider Tom Baker the best doctor ever.
"I'm not heroic, I play heroic"
If Doctor Who has taught me anything is that all men can be heroic, especially those who don't think they can
Tom Baker is a eccentric genius, his wine & dine interview is brilliant & hilariously funny.
Owww Tom... As an American, born in the extreme rural area of the South, I first watched Tom Baker as the Doctor in 1976-77 on our PBS station. I agree......where in God's name is Tom Baker's Knighthood? Tom is AWESOME.😀 and a true legend!
Because he keeps turning them down. He’s been offered one multiple times
Tom baker an absolute legend and my favourite doctor. Fantastic video!
It was a joy to film and edit. And you're absolutely right 100% legend :)
SkaroMondas Productions legend tom
+bigfinishprod Will Tom be doing anymore Big Finish productions in 2016? I want to start buying them. He will always be a brilliant actor, the best Doctor EVER in Doctor Who and a true legend. Agreed
He was my first doctor
Oh my god the end of the video is so amazing when he's talking about the loch ness monster and how he still thinks about the brigadier, it really is almost like he has become the doctor
The ending killed me, I'm fourteen and it made me tear up
Tom Baker you are still important all Doctor Who fans
You will always be my Doctor...I grew up with your character and to this day still watch your DVDs..
What an amazing person.
Before he runs back off to Gallifrey
Tom Baker was my first Doctor. I'm an American from Pennsylvania, and I watched the show on the PBS station, WPIX, out of Clearfield. PA.
Mark S Me too. I watched it from the PBS channel out of Kansas City.
+TC Sam I watched it on the New York PBS station.
Mark S St. Louis, for me.
WHA in Madison, WI. He will always be my Dr. Who.
For those who've SEEN Tom Baker as Doctor Who, I'd like to say He's always been MY doctor. Because With that special "smile", he made it FUN!
Tom Baker was my doctor and when he appeared as the curator just before the Dr. who handover from smith to capaldi, . i literally punched the air :)
I'm so glad the part has given him so much pleasure. Tom Baker and Paul Darrow are two living legends.
Agreed...so I put them together in a sci-fi crossover :) (2 great voices)
ruclips.net/video/uilv6OCnl0g/видео.html
I adore the fact he makes a point of calling him ‘Doctor Who’ and not ‘the Doctor’. No one can argue with Tom! 😁
Tom Baker you made sci fi fun and great. Dr. Who was great with you.
God he’s like that grandfather or great grandfather who had a really interesting life and you hold on every word he tells you because he just has this infectious joy and wonder.
Ah yes. Mr Tom Baker my favourite incarnation of the titular time lord.

I'm sorry I don't get it. Who is this "Tom Baker" person that the Doctor keeps talking about here?
+Luis Burgos Reread what he typed and try again.
Best comment ever XD
+PsychoGemini i almost wanna slap u in the face then i realize ... Brilliant!!!
Perfect comment! Always thought the Doctor would occasionally masquerade as some guy named Tom Baker.
"Tom Baker" is the Doctor's Real Name. But hush, this is just between you and me and the internet. As everybody knows, the Doctor's name is a deep secret.
He still has his big grin! Love it! Love Tom!

He gave me the same smile and a jelly baby after he had signed the book (which I still have). A charming and wonderful man. Wish I'd kept that jelly baby now, though, instead of eating it! ;-)
Being present at a recording with Tom was the highlight of 2014 for me. Happy memories of that studio and Tom's asides and expletives :)
He was my Doctor... and still is. Glad he's doing the audio adventures. Already met #8 Paul McGann and got his autograph. Now I need to meet #4 and get his.
Tom is the only one the fans let call the Doctor "Doctor Who".
Doctor Who the Fourth 😂
"I'm Tom Baker and some of you may have heard of me" He's so humble

Tom Baker, although I grew up in the new who era, has always been my second favourite doctor behind Tennant 💙💙
Tom Baker is the best Doctor ever, not because I found it while it was airing in the 70's but as I'm still young watching it today!
Tom Baker is simply an AMAZING MAN. Long may he live!
Still MY doctor. Love the others as well, but this one was the first Doctor I saw and he's still precious to me. And what a beautiful voice still.
Tom Baker will always be MY Doctor! Such a wonderful human being.
I may be 17 but Tom Baker was my very first Doctor I saw, then it was pertwee then some of Paul McGann through the audio and the movie which Paul and Sylvester where the best part.

UR A LEGEND, TOM, YOU NEVER GROW OLD IN THE HEART OF FANS
Such a wonderful man, and an amazing Doctor! A fantastic video, but of course I'd expect nothing less of Big Finish!
Tom, a completely unique and priceless gem. If anyone was born to play Dr Who, it’s this man.
Watching this again after watching both Tom's NHS tribute with the others and his more recent interview. Time hasn't been kind to Tom physically, but the man is just as charming and witty as ever. That's something you can just never take away from Tom.
This video is truly heart-warming. I love it!
really glad you enjoyed it
I recently bought and thoroughly enjoyed the Fourth Doctor audio adventures 'The Justice of Jalxar', 'The Crooked Man' and 'The Evil One', having listened beforehand to 'Destination Nerva', 'The Renaissance Man', 'Energy of the Daleks' and 'The Dalek Contract/The Final Phase'.
I was there when he was at the Excel in London! Just as amazing in real life as he is on the TV and in interviews!
I love Tom Baker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought the entire five part series "Hornets Nest" on iTunes because of this wonderful actor. He is without a doubt one of the great Doctors of all time. I don't think it can be disputed. I guess it CAN...but you shouldn't! :D
Lovely bit of film, thanks for posting this :)
really glad you like it
Big Finish, you are Doctor Who for me.
I grew up in the Wilderness Years (born just before the end of Season 26) and after getting my hands on as many of the Target Novels as I could I found you.
Your team have made me fall in love with Doctor Who again and again and again.
You keep these legends alive and celebrate them more than New Who does.
Thank you for everything.
Tom, the Brigadier and most important of all Lis Sladen
Sorry Tom but Lis is my hero.
She didn't swear at supports or bully directors and looked after K9 when you ditched him!!!
We love you ol chap! I would love a jelly baby.
My deepest respect voor this wonderful person!
Tom baker epic well down best doctor who ever
Originally for the Doctor they wanted a bit of a twinkle. Tom Baker is pure twinkle.
You'll never be too old to play the Doctor Tom, after all you're not a Doctor, you THE Doctor, the definite article you might say!
Tom Baker my faviorite Doctor. He kinda looks like singer Tom Jones in this Interview
His turn as The Curator opposite Matt Smith in "The Day of The Doctor" was nothing short of magic. Magnificent voice.
Tom baker easily played the best doctor who, anyone who denies that knows nothing.
Best voice ever!
This made me so happy, I met this man a couple years back and he is such a star, I love him and always will
My daughter told me last time I saw her, daddy I remember trying to stay up to watch
