    Agreed. Tom Baker is 'my' Doctor but pertwee is definatly my 2nd favourite. Mainly because Tom is actually mad in real life as well as on screen. Both were/are amazing.

      The two only performances anyone has ever heard of 🤣 except a drunken sailor in a single episode of Black Adder. His Sherlock Holmes wasn't among the best. Completely love the man though, and his wicked sense of humour.

    The truth when Tom relays that many unhappy couples stay together simply because they can’t afford to separate. Then, they are relegated to spend the remainder of their lives refining how they torture each other - chills.

    Well Knox,
    I think that for a lot of us Americans Tom Baker is Dr Who, since we were acquainted with Dr Who 4 first. And IMHO, he was the best Dr for what I have seen, having just the right touch of humor. I remember my little daughter crying when he died (regenerated).

    • @jimnewcombe7584
      @jimnewcombe7584 Год назад

      Surely that depends what generation or decade you were born into, rather than being American.

      @@jimnewcombe7584No, I don't think so. Tom Baker was the Doctor when the show first came to the United States. So no doubt that is why he mentioned being American in his statement.

      Yes - born Jan so 100% age forty when filming the role.
      Oh well - close enough considering it's a common mistake most people make trying to think what age they were when such and such happened.
      Maybe he got given the role while still just about 39?

    KnoxvilleGuy2: I urge you to check out the Big Finish Audios. Tom has recently joined Doctors 5-8 in playing the role in full-blooded audio dramas. And he's jolly good in them. Similarly Big Finishes anniversary release 'Light at the End' features Tom, Peter, Colin, Sylvester, and Paul in a multi-Doctor extravaganza. He comes over well, and is clearly engaged with Who again; he plays the Doctor regularly! I don't doubt he has terrible off days though;it took years for him to work with Big Finish

    I think if they do an anniversary it might include christopher ecc and definately david tennant, as well as one of the surviving previous doctors, probably Peter Davison as he's the only one who hasn't aged beyond the point where he can't play himself (and he's repriesed the role in the past in 'Time Crash', so..)

  • @EpicArt
    @EpicArt 12 лет назад +1

    Both McCoy (with a wig perhaps) and Paul McGann could reprise their roles as well. McGann seemingly hasn't even aged a day since his appearance as the doctor. I remember McCoy bringing up the idea of the past doctors and companions doing cameos instead of reprising their earlier roles. That would be fun to see as well.

    Actually, Hartnell's role has been re-cast once before: Richard Hurndall portrayed the 1st Doctor in the 20th anniversary episode, "The Five Doctors."
    Sadly, they would now have to re-cast Doctors 1-3. So long as the new actors bear resemblance to their predecessors (as Hurndall did to Hartnell), it could definitely be done. For instance, actor Martin Jarvis looks rather like Jon Pertwee, and I think he would make a great 3rd Doctor should the role be revived.

    • @TheBlackHelicopterRevue

      Sean Pertwee is the very picture of his father, now. He could reprise the 3rd Doctor in a cameo appearance.

    Hasn't Tom Baker always refused to get on stage with another Dr in a Dr Who program? In the 5 Doctors to get him in, they apparently had to use an unreleased clip from the unreleased Shada & claim he got stuck in the Time Vortex

    • @lakecountynaturalist7617
      @lakecountynaturalist7617 Год назад

      Tom said he did not want to do the Five Doctors because it was too soon after he left the series. Jon Pertwee said Tom did not want to do it because he (Tom) had to be center of the story when it honestly Peter’s story. Back then Pertwee and Baker could not even be at the same convention because of this personality conflict.

  • @Forthelemon
