He´s officially part of the meme now! Which makes me actually appreciate it a bit more now and I gotta say congratulations to those who started it and who so annoyingly kept it going!
It [the 12th Doctor coming to Big Finish] will happen, certainly, but that day may not be until sometime after 2025, the next point in time when Big Finish will need their license renewing. EDITED FOR GRAMMAR REASONS
In reality I'm sure the modern writers would screw it up like Moffat did for Day of the Doctor. It's a brilliant idea in theory though, and if one of the classic writers could have done it, I have full confidence that would be one of the greatest episodes in the show's history. As for Big Finish, eh, multi-Doctor stories really aren't that special, they do that sort of thing all the time. As compared to just 4 times in 50 years for the tv show.
so exclusively Tom, the happiest of all the Doctors. he could step right back into the role today and it would be like he never left. His energy, that smile and that voice omg💖
Its not just 12's catchphrase though, its the Doctor's real name. He has "Don't forget to click below to subscribe to the official Doctor Who RUclips channel" etched on his Gallifreyan birth certificate. This is all 100% true and not a lie.
It doesn't matter who plays the Doctor (and I love them all)...Tom will always be the definitive Doctor. He inhabited the role like no other, it never seemed like it was just another acting job for him. He *is* The Doctor. :-)
Benjamin Davis But what if it's what Capaldi wants? After all he has a deep love for Classic Who, I would imagine that he'd love the chance to be along side one of the actual classic doctors. If only for a short cameo.
Such a lovely man, and still has the same velvety voice as he did back in the 70s. It's always such a treat watching interviews of him, not to mention all his audio stories from Big Finish.
Tom Baker, hasn't changed at all. He looks like the Doctor more now then ever. He will always be my Doctor, for he was my first Doctor. John Pertwee didn't catch my imagination and i had only seen him in one episode, when he regenerated into Tom Baker.
How awesome would it be, now that Tom is back on board, if Big Finish could do a re-jigged, audio only version of ‘The Five Doctors’ with new dialogue from Tom spliced in. Tom could read reworded responses to Elizabeth Sladen’s original lines, thus matching him with Sarah Jane. Then Katy Manning, as Jo Grant, could read Sarah Jane’s original lines in response to Jon Pertwee. Convoluted? Yes. In keeping with The Five Doctors script twists? Also yes.
Even though I have enjoyed watching all the Doctors over the years, (my "first" Doctor was Jon Pertwee), whenever I'm asked to describe The Doctor, I always end up talking about Tom Baker. It's GREAT to see him back!
I absolutely adore Tom Baker. He was MY Doctor, the first I saw on screen and IMO still the best. I also love many of the others, but for me Tom is THE Doctor.
Tom Baker was the first Doctor (the _only_ Doctor) I saw in early-1975. I saw the _Robot_ series on American Public Television and then got sidetracked for over forty-six years in seeing Doctor Who. I'm proud of carrying that singular, pristine memory for all those years of only knowing that one sliver of an enduring and endearing phenomenon. I knew of Doctor Who and the love for Mr. Baker's Doctor through the decades but it wasn't until I got BritBox that I then had a chance to reacquaint myself with Doctor Who. Seeing _Robot_ again after nearly forty-seven years was startling. Some scenes, especially those recorded outdoors, seemed so fresh in-memory that it was as though no time had passed at all. Tom Baker was again young and _I_ had gotten older but I did remember a good bit.
Tom Baker I hope I get to meet you someday and talk to you about how much you enjoyed being the doctor and how every time your scarf dangled you never tripped over it.
as a kid growing tom baker I saw the most on doctor who very very awesome show to watch as a kid it used real life science and what lies beyond it with the tardis how I wanted my very own tardis one day to literally go anywhere at any time
The best part of this video is was the outro. That is not trying to say anything bad about the interview, that is also great, but the outro... 10/10 would subscribe again.
The very best melding of character and talent, in my opinion, is when the actor forgets or doesn't try to play a part and instead plays as themselves. Not, so much becomes the character, but makes the character into themselves. The part then becomes a personal journey and an intimate one where you, the audience member, becomes a companion as well. You start catching yourself craning your own neck to look around the next corner for danger and ducking when some boogum comes flying at the camera. Tom does that. He invites you to sit on his shoulder and take the ride as close to first person as you can.
To me, he will always be the definitive & most refined portrayal of the character of Dr. Who and if someone mentions Dr. Who anywhere… HIS likeness just pops into my mind by itself. It doesn't mean i don't like everyone else who played the good Doctor over the years (my god, i appreciate EVERY single one of those great talented wonderful actors who gave us such a great performance) but my heart is just all the way with Tom Baker. He gave this role so much of himself and really BECAME the doctor more than anyone before or after him. That truly is the everlasting magic of it. Sincerely, a fan from Germany.
Tom Baker is THE Doctor. I absolutely love other portrayals by other Doctors, but for me….. his was simply the best and has never been topped. Tom Baker is just amazing. I could listen to him read a dictionary and be enthralled.
God damn, whenever I hear the man talk, makes me actually even more sad to think of the fact that everybody dies some day. Because I could listen to him talking for the rest of my life.....
Tim Baker will always be my favorite doctor who! Grew up with him as dr who! Glad hes back doing shada! Best interview and he did the outro! Yay!😁 ty for this interview hes such a genuine person one of the reasons hes imho the best portrayer of dr who & always will be!
That man's got the best voice in the world. Even now when he says, "Subscribe to the RUclips Channel," in that commanding Doctor Who voice of his, it still has that rich flavor in it.
Tom Baker is the best Doctor, hands down!!! Honestly, his portrayal is not just honest, but truly accurate to the character. He *_'IS'_* The Doctor. The archetype for all those who follow.
This message is for Tom Baker and I hope he gets this. I totally understand where you’re coming from. When you found out that you were going to be Doctor Who and you had to keep it under wraps. For two weeks. That must’ve been nerve-racking for you. I can certainly understand where you’re coming from because when I found out that my sister was expecting a baby I couldn’t tell anybody for three months. I am proud to say that I am an aunt and a godmother to a sweet young eight-year-old. And I couldn’t even tell my boyfriend that I had to wait until my sister and her husband told me that it was OK. For me to tell him also like to tell you Mr. Tom Baker that I’m a big fan of Doctor Who because you were in in 1974. You can correct me if I’m wrong but if my memory serves me correctly that’s when you started doing it if I told you something would you believe me? Do you know I started watching Doctor Who when you were in it when I was five years old? And when I told my mother your name she knew exactly who you were. She remembers you very well as much as I do and I just wanted to say thank you so much. For seven years of Doctor Who when I was growing up the one thing I loved about the show when you did it. Was that. You were a teacher in a sense. And I found that very interesting and educational so thank you so much for that.
I do hope that a good part awaits him in the new series. Everything STOPPED at our house, when it was time for Dr.Who - my little brother was entranced, and the rest of us followed along. 6 to 6:30 pm, and dinner had to be either before or after. I still have the Dr.Who theme as my cellphone 'ring' !!
Incredible he’s still got a full head of hair, his voice hasn’t changed a bit, still in good shape for his 80s. Stay alive for another 20 years Tom.
I think he’s lost some weight, ya know.
But god yeah he’s looking good.
I'd listen to this man reading a phone book!
He has an audio book of "A Christmas Carol" It's Awesome!
He can read anything and make it sound marvelous.
me too I loved him being the narrator for dougal
Same, same.
Adam Davies - I'd listen to him reading the menu at Pizza Hut. XD
Omg. You got him to say it! "Don't forget to subscribe to the official Doctor Who RUclips channel!"
I am already subscribed but it was still enjoyable to hear Tom Baker mention the subscribe message.
He´s officially part of the meme now! Which makes me actually appreciate it a bit more now and I gotta say congratulations to those who started it and who so annoyingly kept it going!
That was a surprise and a delight!
THAT OUTRO!
I love the outro xD
I love it too! Hopefully they'll do more!
I wish Matt can
I hope all living Doctor actors do one.
BlobVanDam it's you?
I really wasn't expecting Tom to do the "Don't forget to subscribe" outro!
That should be the official outro, forever and ever, no matter what Doctor is on TV.
DON'T FORGET DOCTOR WHO RUclips CHANNEL NOW!
That's it, we now need Tom Baker and Peter Capaldi's Doctors to meet.
Their smiles combined would go beyond insanity 😆
They can't, Big Finish don't have the rights to do 12's era of the show.
It [the 12th Doctor coming to Big Finish] will happen, certainly, but that day may not be until sometime after 2025, the next point in time when Big Finish will need their license renewing.
EDITED FOR GRAMMAR REASONS
Not Yet ;)
And imitating each other
In reality I'm sure the modern writers would screw it up like Moffat did for Day of the Doctor.
When Tom Baker laughs: Angels weep, devils run, and small islands in the Mediterranean sink.
Oh my God!!! He said the subscribe thingy!!! :-D so lovely
I grew up on Tom Baker's doctor and he is still my favorite. I'm glad to hear the part gave him so much job because it showed in his portrayal.
so exclusively Tom, the happiest of all the Doctors. he could step right back into the role today and it would be like he never left. His energy, that smile and that voice omg💖
CANT WAIT FOR THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!
I love listening to Tom, he has such a powerful but soothening voice at the same time.
But he looks tired, I hope he's not at bad health again.
HE SAID IT YES!!!!!!!
Glen Reid - Did you wish really really hard?
You can see how much he loved the role. When Tom 1st mentions the 5 pm hour he got a tad emotional.
*the* doctor. There’s a reason why 50 years on his Doctor is still so damn iconic.
Well, Tom, you will always be The Doctor in my book. Thank you for being him on camera and off.
You made Tom do the outro! Now all we need is a regeneration scene from Moffat to Chibnall!
BabPenguin hahahaha
From bad to worse.
From chicken salad to chicken shit.
Tom Baker is like William Shatner in that they were just absolutely definitive in what they did in their roles. Why? No idea but they are great.
The way he talked about real life impinging in really struck me. Such an honest moment.
If one person deserves to be the doctor longer than anyone else, it's this man.
His honestly, candor and humor make Baker my favorite Doctor. And he was the silliest, yes - that, too.
Judging from the single dislike, it appears this video made it all the way to Skaro. Curse you for disliking it, Davros!
And the Emperor Dalek disliked it as well 😕
The master, too.
Then Missy had to go and dislike it as well
Undertaker9711 Missy is the Master.
Andrew Moats So? Each Master has a mind and RUclips account of their own, so it's very possible for one Master or other to dislike it alongside Missy
This man is priceless! He is THE Doctor. I could listen to him talk all day! God Bless Tom Baker.
This the the only time I won't be mad by someone stealing Peter's catchphrase...
Its not just 12's catchphrase though, its the Doctor's real name. He has "Don't forget to click below to subscribe to the official Doctor Who RUclips channel" etched on his Gallifreyan birth certificate. This is all 100% true and not a lie.
His other catchphrase is Clara
Clearly his catchphrase is "Shut up!"
one day we will find out that his name is "Who" and all of us will feel stupid xD
Love the fact that the video is 4 minutes long
It doesn't matter who plays the Doctor (and I love them all)...Tom will always be the definitive Doctor. He inhabited the role like no other, it never seemed like it was just another acting job for him. He *is* The Doctor. :-)
He looks younger than he did in the 50th annyversary
Are we free to hope for a cameo on Xmas? Can we dare?
Van Y. Oh gosh. How would that work?
Benjamin Davis But what if it's what Capaldi wants? After all he has a deep love for Classic Who, I would imagine that he'd love the chance to be along side one of the actual classic doctors. If only for a short cameo.
Benjamin Davis think about man he adores classic who and he has said 4th was one of his favorite he would probably enjoy it
CodyMadeThis That’s true, but technically he’s already with Hartnell’s doctor
Van Y. He’s lost all that weight
Tom Baker was my first Doctor. He is still my favorite.
Such a lovely man, and still has the same velvety voice as he did back in the 70s. It's always such a treat watching interviews of him, not to mention all his audio stories from Big Finish.
Honestly, he has just has the best bed-time story voice.
The BBC heard my wish and finally got the Doctor, relevant to the video, to say the subscribe message.
Thank you, Tom, for being my Doctor starting with Planet Of Evil and congratulations on SHADA.
Mike Basil watched Shada last night! Still good even with the animation! 👍
OH MY GOD! TOM BAKER! "DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE OFFICIAL DOCTOR WHO RUclips CHANNEL!" MY LIFE IS COMPLETED! GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD!!!
Tom Baker, hasn't changed at all. He looks like the Doctor more now then ever. He will always be my Doctor, for he was my first Doctor. John Pertwee didn't catch my imagination and i had only seen him in one episode, when he regenerated into Tom Baker.

That Voice, I could listen to this man talk all day long!
Now you need to get capaldi and baker to say “don’t forget to subscribe to the official doctor who RUclips channel” together!!
It is so fantastic to see Tom playing the doctor again.
My Doctor!!!! As a 70's kid this man was my ultimate hero and had a godlike status to me!! ( and he still is)
I’ve never seen a video with zero dislikes! Well done!
Aww there's one dislike now :(
(That's probably the Master)
sdk, if there are any more, it'll be all the other incarnations, if it goes over that number, then future incarnations of the master.
Happy Industries And even if it exceeds THAT number, then it’ll be the Masters from parallel universes.
You may be a Doctor, but he is THE Doctor.
The definite article, you might say.
@@RobTheGreenEngine brilliant! Now ask him if he has any jelly babies?
What's the point of disliking this.
timrob12, I can't even imagine Capaldi even thinking about disliking a Doctor Who RUclips video. He's just tooooooooo nice.
It's meant as a joke.
timrob12, I know.
it was the Master!
Or the Rank.
Tom's older but EXACTLY the same person as when he was Dr Who over 40 years ago. His voice and way of speaking, close your eyes it could be 1976.
Just watched Shada, came home early watched it all in one and loved it
I absolutely adore Tom Baker. He was MY Doctor, the first I saw on screen and IMO still the best. I also love many of the others, but for me Tom is THE Doctor.

aaaaah THANK YOU THANK YOU for the interview and for the "don't forget to subscribe" part!!
I love Tom Baker so much, he is my favourite classic Doctor, because he is still amazing. I really hope to meet him one day.
Fry Doctor
Love Tom! Really wish we could see him once more in the show proper, as number Four!
BEST. OUTRO. EVER.
who is the heartless soul that has disliked this video?!
The Master...
Davros
A troll probably
A Dalek
The 13 people that disliked have commited the Biggest war crime
I hope he sees this! Tom! You Are and will be THE DOCTOR.
Tom will never be forgotten as the forth doctor!.
A wonderful actor who fascinated me as a child and now inspires admiration.
"Mutual admiration society".......Sometimes, Tom Baker is just brilliant!
Such a beautiful man and one of the greatest Doctor of all time
I hope Shada is a masterpiece and I can't wait to see him return
I was waiting for 12th Doctor outro. I am not disappointed anyway.
"Would you like a Jelly Baby?" -The Doctor 😃
as a kid growing tom baker I saw the most on doctor who very very awesome show to watch as a kid it used real life science and what lies beyond it with the tardis how I wanted my very own tardis one day to literally go anywhere at any time
The best part of this video is was the outro. That is not trying to say anything bad about the interview, that is also great, but the outro...

That at the end was brilliant!
YES HAHAHA THEY ACTUALLY DID THE OUTRO! IM SO HAPPY ABOUT THAT! If you look on the last video I suggested it wow ;)
Just discovered this. Absolutely awesome. Thank you, Tom.
I’ve never seen Tom’s run on the show. Or any old who for what matter. Even so I can tell in how he carries himself why he’s so beloved in that roll.
i love these interviews!
Thank you for this!!!
I watched him back in the 80s late night loved that show by far the best doctor never knew the phone booth was a time machine
Subscribe message? From Tom Baker? My life is complete.
Thank you for giving us the best years, my Doctor!
Tom Baker will always be my favorite, early Doctor Who.
Tom, you just make me smile. Can there be anything better than that. Thank you.
The Fourth Doctor speaking, this video is four minutes long and uploaded on the 4th day of the month.
Such a brilliant actor. An absolute legend.
My Doctor Forever...
My hero! What a bloody legend!!!
I love how the text font is the font for opening titles from 1976-1980 :)
Tom Baker is the best Doctor, hands down!!! Honestly, his portrayal is not just honest, but truly accurate to the character. He *_'IS'_* The Doctor. The archetype for all those who follow.
I feel that life would never be as entertaining without the 4th Doctor Who. I never felt human till seeing doctor who the first time as a child
I could listen to this man talk forever!
Capaldi now has outro competition
Tom is awesome. Loved his Doctor (my favorite). He can say anything and it sounds fantastic.
Best voice ever.
U are awesome. Ty for being the Doctor.
Man I love that Tom has come back to shada and oh that out to was perfect.
WOW. They actually read the comments and gave him the end card. nice.
Tom Baker is so lovely, bless him. Brilliant man, Brilliant actor, Brilliant Doctor! 👍🏻
