Here we explore how I corrected each camera to look similar.
Big thank you to Carlos Quintero for the test material!

Pretty interesting comparison. I wish you added some Blackmagic cameras in there 12k or 6K to see how they flex against these other ones as well

I have done a test in a live stream between a7siii and pocket6k and the chat couldn't tell a difference. Unfortunately I did not have access to footage from a BMD camera for this particular test, but I am pretty sure that based on my experience with BMD cameras, they will look similar.

@@TonyDae I guess I am more concerned with the ursa 12k since that is what I am considering investing in?

@@Zeidify Well I think it stands to reason that I can't really do everything. If you have access to material like these that compare the 12k against other cameras in a similar testing situation, I would be more than happy to explore it.

@@TonyDae I completely understand. All your testing is much appreciated. It’s a lot of $ to throw into a camera so I want to know as much about it it before purchasing.

@@TonyDae Are you still sticking to ACES now when you grade Blackmagic footage?

@@TonyDae I remember on the last video you talked that there are more to the look than matching the colors, in the situation where we use the same lenses on different sensors from the same size, what other characteristics are we talking about, in my mind im mostly thinking about texture and sharpness, and im sure that you are more informed and that you know better, so do you think that theres more to consider when matching cameras?

    • @TonyDae

Since these videos are concentrated on brand camera color science in particular; lensing, texture, sharpness, that kind of thing has to be ignored since it isn't color science from the camera brand, its something else that in my view is a lot more obvious and/or measurable. Our focus is narrowed here so that we can explore color science from camera brands specifically and discern if it really matters or not. Texture, sharpness, dynamic range, noise, etc. are all different from color science.
I am looking at creating a final third video to explain what we can take away from this particular experiment and a big part of that is that we can start ignoring the noise (worrying about camera color science) and focusing on what matters more (resolution, texture, lensing, noise, dynamic range, artifacts, features) when choosing a camera.

@@TonyDae yes that definitely makes more sense, but what your saying feels a little bit foggy for me since i dont have much access to experiment , so hopefully one day youd diverge to it

@@suhaib2789 Your request is still vague. By your own admission, you don't have much knowledge about color grading, etc. So when you ask him to expand on something, but offer no specific interests, you're not giving him anything to work with. What is it about your images/footage that you want to improve? Maybe start from there.
