The shower solution is great. If we look at time we spent inside the van, the shower/toilet are BY FAR the places where you spend the least the time. It therefore fair and clever to have a shower/toilet system that is just hidden away when not being used. Much better than having a fixed monolith inside the van.
This is one of the simplest but cleanest design for a 144. It has everything you need, exactly where you need it to be, and the execution was flawless. The gentleman who designed and built this van is so generous in sharing the links to all the products he sourced to execute his vision.
That table top was a work of art! I like those removable showers, they’re a much better use of space. Since you designed that clever magnetic extension base, i would have popped a few small magnets in the bottom of the curtain to stop it clinging to me as shower curtains are notorious for.
I have been thinking about the most optimized inside shower for space, and wondered why no one did it in the open floor area. Finally, I see what should have been done, done. Actually my thought was to have all the floor part be the shower pan and make sure the vent was directly above it
Your vans are beautiful and well-designed. After seeing so many van builds, I can’t see buying a ready made van from the traditional manufacturers like: Winnebago etc... I definitely will have my van built to my specifications. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙌🙌🙌
I love the sliding doors in the overheads. It wasn't lost on me that the door edges are hidden behind vertical stiles when closed. Very very nice. Then you presented the table top... oh, baby that is nice. I will watch and shut up.
Love your van built.. Very stylish, beautiful design, unique sliding doors and doesn't need any hydraulic lift. The cool table and your pretty neat garage! Very nice van indeed. Thank you for sharing.
This is really well done. My o lay complaint about these van conversations is the low fridge. I would prefer the fridge be mounted up higher for easier access. Also, could the bed be put on a hydraulic hinge so you could lift it up from inside the van? My IKEA bed has this and it is very handy.
Hey guys, I am blown away by the layout you put together - It's really clean and crisp. Also the ideas you had here are just brilliant. I especially like the shower set up. Is there a chance you could tell me which lights you used in the bed area - the ones with the red light function and the integrated USB port? I can't find anything that is even close to that pretty and subtle online. Anyway, great looks and build quality. Keep it up :)
Sweet van! My only wish would be to have the shower pan between bench and passenger seat , makes more room for stepping out and getting to your things.
Hi , I found this video by accident! This is amazing. I also have a camper van like yours being conversion in China. Thanks for the video, it gave me a lot of inspiration!
I think I would try to find a plastic tub to stand in. Lots of other uses for it: rinsing feet, laundry etc. Can toss the shower water out or use for laundry.
Having to spray conformal coating on Maxxair makes me wonder about the rest of their quality process. My Maxxair went belly-up before I even got the trailer home!
One more thing. Is there a mount for privacy curtains around the toilet? Imagine the friendly folks from the nearby van poking their heads in as one is doing their business. Curtains might alert the neighbors that they might come back later. The curtains could have a “ Toilet on board “ sticker.
Yikes, ppl peeping in your van?? Well you could either pull window curtains to or put up the shower curtain Depending on the level of window tinting you might not have to worry. I certainly would not be alerting the world that I’m going to the toilet
I would like to make such a shower only that it is foldable and collapsible [ in the middle of the floor ] so as not to raise the floor by those few cm .Can you tell me what can be used to make a non-permeable mini shower tray like you did.
for me the most important thing about this van is that it is very narrow and very high and that is because of the rear-wheel drive. This Camper has in the rear windows some added protrusions to be able to sleep wide that you can buy it from the factory but if you want to camperize it then you hold on and you have to sleep along losing interior space. Being so high in size it has a double entrance step and about 18 cm more total height with which the wind and the wobbling become very very evident to solve this in the times we are going it would not be wrong to apply the technology of the Toyota 4x4 that is front-wheel drive and two electric motors that go to the rear wheels and thus does not have as much height of the ground or the height total of the body and of course it would be necessary to put a hybrid engine that it is time for Mercedes to savvy to the times that run
That’s awesome! The layout works really well. It doesn’t matter how fancy the build out is. Wether it’s an air mattress in the back, or a full professional build out. As long as you’re out there enjoying it is all that matters.
Excellent build. You thought out energy efficiency too. Whats the MPG? One concern is the usual low MPG on most vans. Living off the grid sounds interesting for brief periods, less interesting is the carbon spewing into the atmosphere. Have you done any pure EV builds? I’m biased, I drive an EV with 120 MPGe.
Hi, I know a lot of people with the shorter 144wheel base sprinter (19ft long) with an extra row of seats with a small kitchenette and bunch beds. Options are endless!
@@RoamOverlandVehicles I was trying to look for option setups with the 2 extra seats facing cab, and flares to sleep east west with a hidden shower and small kitchen on a 144. Wishful thinking ... Love your build 😍
Gosh absolutely beautiful. When you mentioned the drawer slides you said the “rv latch’s “ were behind the drawer. Not sure what kind you are talking about. My drawers are push to open and they will not stay closed. You are waaaaay smarter than me. What are the locking mechanism you mentioned pls
It would be tough. I weld stainless steel bolts to the bottom and mount it directly to the floor. You would have to cut out that section of flooring and mount it. I also size the flooring and insulation to match the walls of the pan so it’s hidden. If your flooring is in and different height than the pan that could be an issue.
@@RoamOverlandVehicles I’m getting ready to start our van build and want to use the hidden shower floor, like you did. Can you share your build out so I can modify it for my large box Ambo? First I have to install our hidden toilet. Thanks for helping…if you can.
Love the shower! I am looking to do something similar in my build. The link to the shower pan appears different than the one in the video. Is it the same one? If not would you be able to send me the link to the one used?
The one we linked was for a larger build we did that had a full enclosed shower room. This pan we custom make for each van. Unfortunately we don’t have any extras for sale all of the ones we have are for future builds. We’re hoping that in the future we could build enough to sell some.
The one linked is for a different van. That’s the standard rv shower pan. The one in this video is one we created and had fabricated. Unfortunately at this time we don’t sell them because they have to be custom welded and mounted to each specific van.
If I am going to invest $100K+ in a conversion van I am going to have a shower, otherwise I get a Can Am side by side with a bucket of hot water. Thanks for a well done production.

Wow, that table is STUNNING! Love to see a video of you creating these! :)
Your build quality is second to none. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship, and great innovative ideas. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
One of the best 144 van designs I’ve seen. Someday 🤞🏻
Love the shower.
Only thing I'd add are some magnets attached at the corners and "door" of the curtain so it'd adhere to the steel sides of the pan.

Beautiful. Magnets in the bottom of the shower curtain would be great. Love the colors. Great job!

Sewing a small chain in the bottom seam of the curtain would weight it down some to help with that issue.

How about attaching the show tent right under the fan.
After shower, you can turn on the fan to dry out the shower tent.

does the shower curtain ever stick to you in the shower? is there a way you could stop it from moving around and touching you?
Hi Dan, great set up, looks perfect!!! But why you use so long sliders for the toilet? Takes place and can damage your other stuff...
You have to use that length of slide to ensure the toilet can clear the wall and have the lid still open.
