The most reliable and best SUV I've owned was an RX 400 AWD. Maintenance was easy on the wallet and it didn't have any problems after 250,000 miles of use. That car convinced me to never again buy another European vehicle. Toyota and Lexus vehicles are the best, especially Lexus because they hold up very well over the years.
That is awesome! Love hearing about the high miles Lexus/Toyotya ..I would love to find one w that many miles just for a video! Thanks for the comment!
@@PosyaKisa any year really just have good service records if possible ..or have it looked at by a good repair shop..lowest miles dont mean anything ..some people just dont service their cars
I've owned a 2013 RX450h since new and it currently has 145K miles on it. There were only two things that went bad - an O2 sensor at 109k and a rear taillight bulb. That's it. It's on it's third set of tires, brakes and rotors were done twice. The oil was religiously changed every 5K miles. I had the coolant flushed and all the fluids (brake, differentials, transmission) exchanged twice. The spark plugs were changed at 138K miles. Everything else is original and is in perfect shape. It feels and drives like new and still gets 30mpg with 95% battery life left on the hybrid system. The interior is immaculate and the paint still looks like new (I maintain a fresh ceramic coating on it every few months). I've owned dozens of cars in my life with nearly 40 years of driving and so far, nothing can even come close to the dependability, reliability and sheer joy I feel owning my Lexus. If you take care of it, it will last for decades and hundreds of thousands of miles.
thanks for the comment! I would buy another in a heartbeat! Great suv...I have a 2007 Fj Cruiser w 320000 miles that the original owner to great care of...Love these vehicles ! FJ is a pig on fuel and kills me sometimes lol..but its super reliable !
2000 RX300, we inherited from my dad just crossed the 200k mark. Probably needs a second timing belt change, but it runs really good. Minimal maintenance required. Love it.
I bought a 08 RX350 a year and a half ago. It now has 250k miles on it. The dash above the glove compartment is chipping away (that year is known for that) , replaced a wheel bearing, spark plugs and that’s it. I’ve put 40k on it and runs great. Headlight covers need polished but absolutely no complaints here. Love my Lexus!
If you're handy (even just a bit), try a Coverlay dash cover. We got dark brown for our tan interior, and it looks great. Good fit and it comes with an air bag cover. (The cracking will get worse.)
I own that generation Lexus RX 350 AWD. The window reset put all of the windows individually at halfway down. Then bring them up with the driver's master control reset complete. Another interesting feature is the center console slides forward and backward as needed open the cup holder, at the rear of the cup holder compartment is a release pull up on it to slide the console to desired position. Great video!
I am 62 and never owned a new car although I have driven many new luxury vehicles throughout my life. Through time and patience I find useful videos such as yours that are truthful and informative . This particular model in those year ranges is a excellent choice but there is always a possibility of a repair that could be on the expensive side that you may not have the extra money .
I have an 07 RX350 with 148k on it and haven't had a single issue ! Original struts still working perfectly. Interior is perfect and everything works great. Same interior as yours with a black exterior.
I have an 08 rx350 with 190,000 miles on it I never have any problems it’s the most comfortable reliable car before that an 03 rx300 I had for 10 years it went well over 200,000 same thing no problems the rx is a great safe reliable suv and I’m short I’m 5’3 so I like that it sits up higher I never realized that was an issue lol bottom line and best short person suv with basic maintenance these things run forever I highly recommend
I just bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350 and the one thing I noticed and by watching your video help me to confirm maybe maybe a little bit of oil starvation going on. The engine has a little bit of a tick to it and at first I thought it was the gas, but now I'm going to go get it checked out, thanks!
I just bought one (09 126k miles). Check out the car care nut. He does an entire series on this problem. In the meantime...put royal purple synthetic oil. The rattling is the chain which tends to go away when the car is warm.
I bought a 2006 RX 400 H and it's going very well, It's the best vehicle I've ever owned it's very comfortable and reliable, It handles well in the snow up here in Utah, good review on the 350.
I just bought a 2010 Lexus RX 450h with 115k miles on it in 2024. It was never in an accident and drives like a dream on the original struts and shocks, insane. I’ll be getting new shocks and struts, new rotors and breaks and a transmission fluid flush and fill. The car gives me 30mpg but the hybrid battery does seem to be showing its age so my best friend Dave who is a mechanic said he can put a lithium battery bank in it which would be 4x better than the original hybrid battery brand new.
I was looking at 450H last week but with higher miles and I never had a hybrid -so I kinda lost interest and just bought a 02 SC430 last night ! next car video/videos coming up
Excellent video!! 👍👍My wife was just debating on a Purchase of a 2012 RX 350 with 98000 miles. I told her grab it! She looked at me crazy! I was just at the Toyota Dealership I was getting her 2020 Toyota Corolla her has 41000 miles on it. While, waiting I started talking to a woman whom had a 2009 Toyota Avalon. She had a small dent on driver side, Car looked great. She said to me I Love this car and I have 315 miles on it!! I ask her 325 miles? She replied no sir 315000 miles. I gulped and said that's Great! Super-Duper Great!! It does burn no oil or anything. She loves it! Guess what we went back to Lexus to get that RX! Thanks for a Real Review! God Bless You get better Sir!
Thanks for the kind words! I have a 07 FJ Cruiser w 318000 miles I bought from the original owner..did a few videos already on it..my next car video is my 2010 Lexus ES350 W 149000 Should be up in a few days!
Thanks for the comment ! I hope you find best one you can condition wise and just enjoy it! Obviously they need routine maintenance they just last so much longer than other brands and thats why people love them! BTW I just bought a 316000 mile FJ Cruiser 6 speed and runs and drives excellent! 1 owner and well taken care of
2006 Rx 330 Bought new . Current milage .125,000 miles. Certain work like timing belts and such, is better to take it to the "stealership" Oil, brakes I do myself. Plan to keep it for as long as I can. The next car I buy will be Lexus no doubt. As they say you get what you pay for, at least for Lexus cars. I do not know about other brands, European or American. Cool vid. btw . (:>)
Great video. Your 08 white rx350 is emaculate. I puchased an 05 lexus rx330 beige w/134,000mi. For my daughter. Same here I had to replace power steering pump, pressure hose, boots, 4 tires, coolant, back rotor & pads, tailgate struts, 02 sensors. Everything eles was replaced or still top shape. I thought this 2nd gen model suv was for the ladies, but I don't care. Now I'm going to save up $$$ then look for an 07-09 Lexus rx350 white too. This is a great reliable crossover suv with all the extra bells & whistles. My main cars is a 07 tacoma w/ only 52,000 mi & 05 4runner w/150,000 mi. If I find that Lexus it will be my weekend cruiser. 👍
So the timing belt was replaced hopefully before you buying it? I just missed out on a 05 last month..very clean ...but I just bought a 2014 Toyota Venza ..I havent posted it yet ..this week I will...just saying I bought it and do a pros and cons video later on in the up coming weeks -I had a 07 FJ Cruiser w 321000 miles when it sold last Spring ..ran like new! Hope your daughter loves her RX and hope you find the white RX ! Thanks for the comment and reach out again when you get it!
Appreciate your video! I do the same as you and buy and resell good cars that I know people are looking for. I just picked up my niece’s ‘07 RX 350. Super clean and still deciding if I want to keep this and sell my current car. The engine in this series of RX 350 is also known for the front oil seal starting to leak. Toyota (Lexus) came out with a redesigned seal. This one already had that done. Also, if you live in the rust belt (I’m in Southern Maine) the propeller shaft between the differentials are also known to fail (U-joints and/or the center bearings). I just put one in this car. Runs great and so far love this car! I’ll be getting some of that Meguiars compound!
Thanks for the comment Mike! Yeah they are great cars for sure ,I still look for them too buy but Im interested in another FJ Cruiser or the Lexus GX 460 (white pearl) Nice to hear from someone in my area! Enjoy it you decide to keep it for awhile
Nice my wife have a 2004 Lexus RX 330 and she love it. It has 180,000 on it now. We brought it at 154,000. I owner with over 58 service receod on carfax report.
Beautiful! Thanks for the comment..I believe you have a timing belt on that engine but ,change that with the water pump good to go for another 100k! Change the transmission fluid too..
Bought an 06 same color in similiar condition with 210k in '16. Over the next 6 years I put 30k on it and had the following problems. Steering rack, timing belt, alternator(Denso only), plugs, 02 sensor (L. rear)..there's 4. Rear hatch struts, dash cracked and I installed one of the "caps" from coverking..looked great !..It'd just had brakes when I bought it. Cooper Touring tires wore weird. Alignment check showed perfect. Had to air up spare tire every year. All the dash lights would come on once in a while..a restart would clear them. Transmission drain and fill (discolored). Would do 23.4 on long runs..21.2-21.6 around town. A/C was great and seats got good and warm. Driver's seat gets hard after 5-6 hrs. Many long trips to see family and even got chased by a tornado in Arkansas. Sold it to my adult son and he put a wheel bearing on it and a set of General RT43's. Drives like new with 240k plus at this time. Paint still looks great..I get to visit once in a while.
Thanks for the comment! I stay away from timing belt years..only because its a added maintenance item..Being chased bt a tornado ? Scary! Keep it in the family, thats awesome, great story!
I'm thinking about an RX. My Dad had 2, passed down through my brother's side of the family and they are still going. My best SUV? 10 years ago I bought an '01 4runner SR5 from a friend with 125K for my son to drive for $5600 and he often has people ask if it's for sale. The 3.4 5VZ-FE is great. Then 3 years ago I found a '96 Limited 4runner for my youngest son to drive with 158K that was 1 owner and only used as a vacation home car in Deer Valley. They were selling the property and it sat in the garage mostly for the last 12 years except when they were in town skiing from SoCal. Frame looks new! $1500 and I put another $1800 into it (tires, plugs, wires, all fluids, fix some leather seat tears) and I could sell either of them today for $10k+ here with 190K. I love my Mercedes E500 4matic wagon and it just turned 250K miles. My ski buddy/Mercedes mechanic is thinking of retiring so...I need to find a good RX! Thanks for a great video. Still searching...
I had a 02 4Runner w 212000 from orginial owner a few years back..I like it..but too small for me w headroom ..here in New England the frame was in need of work..but I still look for RX 350s to buy..Good look on your search! Oh ..I been looking for a clean 500 wagon for years but hard to find up here
This just came up in my feed and It's probably because RUclips knows that I own one. Ours is a 2008 with approaching 250,000 miles. Just had two wheel bearings replaced. I'm getting ready to do a trans filter and fluid change. The car is absolutely AMAZING. If I had one fault (and it's a HUGE one) is the entertainment/navigation system. You have to be STOPPED to set destinations and program the navigation. There is a speed sensor tied to the navigation. The navigation is OLD and has no real serious updates without shelling out serious cash. I was able to "find" and successfully burn an update DVD (might be version 11 North East version) and get it to load, but the roads are still WAY old and not relevant. Mine needs a headlight polish to look as amazing as the thumbnail, but overall - I would buy a second one in a heartbeat. We got this at 134K miles and at 160K I had to replace all 6 plugs and coil packs which I was able to do myself (about $400 for OEM replacements). Aside from brakes, oil and tires - it's needed nothing till the wheel bearings and I beat the shit out of them before they were replaced. Total bill for bearings and inspection - $591.00. We only paid 10K for it in 2017. Ours was a 1 owner, dealer maintained, just off the 110K warranty. Clean Carfax and complete maintenance record on the Lexus site. We couldn't be happier. Her name is Elsa according to my wife. It's pearly white.
thats awesome! Thanks for the comment and very happy that you are enjoying the Lexus! I didnt know about the DVD system..Unfortunately this was totalled after a rollover after new owner had it for 3 weeks! Was a nice suv...Checkout my 07 FJ Cruiser 6 speed videos I recently posted 318000 miles it has at the moment and I drive it everyday!
@@BaldadonisMike2021 The wife ALMOST bought a brand new Subaru something or other instead of this. I couldn't even sit comfortably in that. Funny as it may seem, we also own a 2008 Mercedes Smart FourTwo (60K) and I kid you not - hand on a Bible - it has MORE leg room than the Lexus RX. Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not being stupid to compare the vehicles, but that FourTwo has legroom all day long. And I am 6'4" and mostly leg. I get laughed at a lot for driving it, but I get 400 miles from 7 gallons of gas and the auto-manual gearbox with paddle shifters is a blast!

Very nice review and your car is beautiful and superbly maintained. I live in the south if Spain and most people do not care about their cars that well here haha. I am a Lexus RX400h 2005 owner - it had 2 owners before me, I bought it in Sep 2020 with 278.000 kmson the counter, original traction battery and a very complete paperwork of all the repairs and maintenace and the hybrid system check done on the day. It is my daily car and have now done nearly 80.000 kms myself. Apart from the regular maintenance (oil, filters, brake pads, gearbox liquid and the timing belt), I had two actual faults: both rear brake calipers jammed - the left one just after I bought the car and the right one last week. Nothing else, although after my 3 years the hybrid system is now showing signs of getting old. The fuel economy is slightly worse than when I bought it, the consumption was around 10 litres per 100km, now 10,5 litres on average. When the time comes to change the battery, I will have to think if it makes sense to spend another 3000 plus euros to replace it. The car is now worth around 8000/8500 euros here.
Hi there ,I never owned a hybrid ..Glad you are having mostly trouble free experience(besides wear and tear-even frozen calipers happen)Not sure if replacing the battery is worth it to you..So many options for other cars ..let me what you decide what you do ,it will be interesting to hear!
Lots of Toyota/ Lexus love - and yes, they are magnificent cars. Having said that, if you take care of a car and do the proper maintenance- they will keep on going. My 07 E350 (205 K) and ML350 (180K) are bulletproof. All I’ve done is religiously change all the fluids when required. That’s basically it. And Mercedes are fun. Lots of fun. I have had my share of Camry’s and Accords and they are superstar quality. However, I have noticed that Toyota and Honda owners are generally very responsible and maintain their cars. The “grandpa” cars (Lincoln Town Cars, Mercury Marquis, Crown Vic, a Buick, Olds, are Pontiac with a 3800cc engine) come close to holding their own vs Toyota/Honda. Cab services that use Town cars can have 300K, 400k, or more miles on them. The panther platforms are outstanding. Regarding BMWs- I turned sour on them in the mid 2000s. Last one I was in love with was the E39 M5. Just my 2 cents
Great comment! Sold my FJ cruiser last Spring w 321000 miles and the original clutch made it to 199000 miles! The rivets wore out not the disk ! I just bought a 2014 Venza ..w 97000 miles...next car video
check it out ..I did several videos on it..for a New Hampshire vehicle was good shape..frame had been oiled every year..the drivers door had gotten water in the shell and developed some rust bubbles in middle of door..but was fun w the 6 speed..@@PMSPauline
here in kentucky most of us poor irish work on all of are stuff yes i own a rx 350 bought it for $8800 129k replaced the oil cooler lines then did a major tune up on the car it to is a 2008 i now have 155 k and it still looks and runs great
It was new from previous owner I believe ..I dont remember ..because it looked newish..Yeah it was annoying having to do the smoke test just to change for another cap..
I would take the 2008/2009 Highlander over the RX 350 in a heartbeat. The interiors use many of the same instrumentation but there's a lot less room for hauling things around in the RX. They both have the 2GRFE engine. BUT the RX is made in Canada where is the Highlander was made in Japan.
@@artistnyc123 That great! Enjoy the years of low maintenance vs other car manufacturers ! I just bought a 2009 Camry from the original owner and it's my next car video next week! 221000 miles and runs great -My FJ Cruiser had 321000 when I sold it last Winter...I would buy another (kills me w 15 MOG though..GRRR LOL)
Very good video! I have practically the same model, except mine is FWD. I LOVE it. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned, I bought it with 99,000 miles. It currently has 123,000 and it drives like new. I’m late to the comments here, but you mentioned the VVTI line that needs to be replaced, and that’s true, but the picture you showed was of the oil cooler line. That one is actually more urgent than the VVTI line, so you’re right. The actual VVTI line has the same issue in that the middle of the line is rubber. I recently replaced the oil cooler line (myself!). I bought the VVTI line and will schedule to have that replaced shortly. Folks, for these parts, ONLY USE OEM PARTS! Thanks again. I plan to own my car for a LONG time. 😎🏎️ I grew up in Haverhill, by the way 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the comment! Yeah they are great SUVs for sure and I just sold my 2010 ES350(Same engine) and I have my 2007 FJ Cruiser w 319700 miles! Runs great..I was just at Winnekenni Castle I was there yesterday ! I grew up in Everett!
I bought a used 08 RX350 AWD in 2016, w 99,000 km. Other than rusted muffler (repaired in 2012 and rotor/calipers replaced in 2021, it is still running like a dream at 177,000 kms right now. Yes, I do have evap problems on occasion; it’s always my gas cap which I will replace soon. Thanks for the info about smoke test.
Nice job detailing. The E55 has that "summer opening/convenience" feature for the windows and sunroof, and you have to re synch windows and sunroof after battery disconnect too
probably one of the best, if not, THE BEST used reliable luxury SUV for the money - just ask Scotty Kilmer. I know because I have one as well ('07 - same same) so i'm biased. Resell value of these things are still up there even if it has way over 100k, because these cars last so long when timely and proper maintenance is done. I bought mine with 87k miles rust-free with all the bells and whistles minus the dvd player and tow option package. Definitely make note of that rubber oil cooler line MUST be replaced right away with metal kind at all cost for preventive maintenance. I had mine replaced recently so that's a CHECK! 2nd generations are prone to CEL and wiring harness failures - but it's fixable without ripping your wallet. Great video!
Thank you for the comment.Im trying too buy a 2006 GX470 W 340000 Miles! Its a 1 owner since new..I want it just to do a video..but the fuel consumption may not be worth owning ..just for that reason only
Thank you so very much for sharing your information regarding the Lexus RX350. I am thinking about buying a used Lexus RX350 because I can't afford it brand new, plus the value goes down immediately when you drive it off the lot. I currently have a 2010 Honda CRV and right now its literally driving me crazy. I bought it November of 2020 with just a little over 78K miles on it. I just put 4 brand new Yokohama tires on it 2 weeks ago and now all of a sudden my driver's side door lock is clicking on and off constantly when I drive. It doesn't close fully and have to force it closed in order for the alarm to set. When I'm making a right turn only, my left door lock opens and once in a while you can hear it unlatch and it scared the heck out of me because the driver's side door flew open as I drove down the street. I'm hoping that it's the actuator itself, and I'm trying to have a neighbor of mine fix it. My ac doesn't work COLD either, it comes on, but it blows out very hot air, not good when it's 98 degrees outside, and you get a quick torrential downpour. The heat works, but not the ac. When you turn the ac on, you can hear it come on and off you can hear it turn off. I like the car, and I'm trying to save up to get these things fixed asap.
So are you going to put money into the Honda or go out and buy a Lexus? Little stuff like your door lock opening is kinda annoying for sure..the A/C on some cars are weak as the weather is hotter it does take awhile to fully cool down a vehicle unless you you are low..and can benefit from a recharge ..not that expensive ..how many miles you have on it now? Thanks for the reaching out and leaving a comment! What part of the country are you in?
Thank you for your review. I'm looking to get my oldest his first car and price-wise, it's inane I can get an older Lexus that runs like a top or something that costs more, less mileage but not as good as a Lexus. I'm leaning towards the older Lexus. Also, I'm hoping it's lower cost to insure with an older car. I found two, one with 07 w/ 170k and one with 08 w/200k. Used car markets are crazy these days still. 9K out the door on the first and 10k out the door for the second. Both have nav and backup camera. Haven't test-drove it yet, but I am going to start looking at those two first.
Are they both at dealerships? Play their game..Cash talks as well ..Tell them you are looking at another and whoever gives me the best deal..I buy..let me know how it goes!
@@BaldadonisMike2021 Oh, definitely, both are at dealerships, thank you for the reminder to play their game. Cash in hand and from the looks of what I can see, both have been on the lot for more than 4 months.
I have a 2009 rx350 175k still running great. tps light stays on becuz I of spare tire. Other quirk is the dashboard is cracking a little and getting some tackiness (known issue lexus did have a recall for back in 2015-2016 for those impacted but mine did not show up until later. Recall replacement no longer in play
Looking at a high mileage 2008 RX350 w/ 170k miles. I test drove it and did all the checks while it was running. No leaks etc. I noticed the undercarriage frame had like fresh black paint as to cover rust but it’s not to bad in general. No accidents and decent history. The a/c compressor was replaced and refrigerant re charged and oh the spark plugs changed too. Front and rear pads recently replaced too. Calipers cleaned. I think I might be over reviewing though lol. We’re you worried about transmission issues?
Transmission fluid on these are easy to do..I like to see it if was done..if not just do it..main reason a transmission will burn out..No service! I just bought a 07 FJ Cruiser w 316000 miles on it from the original owner 4 weeks ago..every service history since day 1..oh ,its a 6 speed too! First clutch lasted 298000 miles! The spring in the clutch disk let go -only reason it went ,otherwise the clutch was still good..very impressive ! Im trying to get that video up end of this week.. Did you buy the Lexus?
Wow. The FJs are nice. My Father-in Law has one. I appreciate your passion and details you give and wow 315k but see you have allllll the paperwork. As far as the Lexus, your timing is good because tonight I was giving them my decision and I’m just going to hold off. The deal is good $260 for 48 months, could be much better tho but that’s on me, but yeah I have to finance but honestly that money I would pay them, I will just use that to pay myself and save and put myself in a better position to get a lower mileage used one. I can’t tell if the water pump was changed. Also I don’t like the bank and the percentage offered. Sorry to give you that lame story. It’s affordable though but I’m also giving up my 06 Toyota Avalon with 190k miles and I had that since 95k miles back in 2015. All paperwork too lol. Just got the hideous back bank 1,3,5 spark plugs completed and I’m enjoying the V6 power again. Thank you for your response. 170k was just at my limit even tho they are reliable.
@@LaVerite124 I had a camry w 267000 or 276000 I forget Its on my channel from a few years back..It still runs great today! Sold to a college girl and she still driving it! Good luck on your next purchase !

Just bought a 2008 myself. Not in as great shape. Some of the clear coat is gone. Blame the Hawaii sun and salt for that but it's in amazing shape for a car that been on island that long and has 136k miles.
You buy the RX with the dash and seat damage? How did you repair the seats ? Not sure how I would repair the dash ..can you send me pictures I never seen dash damage in person Mikebaldadonis@gmail.com Other then that how you like the RX?
I just bought an 08 Lexus RX 350 with 167k miles and it runs and drives perfect. The ac doesn’t work and needs an ac compressor, and the person I bought from told me that’s the reason why the check engine light is on. Is that true? He told me once I install the ac compressor the check engine light will go off. Also the “vsc off” light is flashing. I also have to replace the back hatch struts because the hatch won’t stay open.
No thats not true! First try a simple cap ..see if the rubber is cracked/worn..cheap fix! Might Be a 02 sensor..might be a few ..up and down stream..other then that it should be a great car..let me know !
Take it to the dealer to get diagnosed. $200...I cheaped out and paid an independent shop only to have to go to the dealer and pay again. Gas cap, Upstream O2 sensor and cat by the firewall. I still have a couple more fixes to get it running smooth but I think it's worth it
@@riprush2672 Thanks ! Happy Holidays ! Keep me in touch w the RX .....Issues or when you hit the BIG 200K! Funny..people will ask ,hey how much HP your car have..Toyota/Lexus people ask...hey how many miles you have ...lol!
Another con is if you ar on the Autobahn the power could be more. At 130 mph I wih for a 6th gear or a turbo. But Great for camper conversion and super reliable. Can tow a boat
Average speed limit here in the US is 75. The best cars for driving here are the ones that can cruise at 75 for hours in comfort and pass at 85-90. the US is big and many of us drive distances of 500-1,000 miles quite frequently with the average distance between cities being about 2 hours.
I love that car but after a lot of research I stay away from the 04-10 due to melting/cracked dash/leaking oil/and a/c problems. That V6 is a great engine but it's difficult to work on. I keep looking for but I think you got a rare buy with the records listing a lot of maintenance. My Toyota had a bad Evap Canister, ouch 500 dollars to replace at small shop. Great car.
melting dash if you live in climate thats always sunny and hot and dont have a garage ..leaking oil is going to be on most cars..and the A/C issues I have yet to see from these vehicles ..I wouldnt dismiss these cars ..but thanks for the comment!
@@BaldadonisMike2021 Actually that cracked/melting dash was caused because Toyota "went green" and made the dash out of a material that would break down in landfills. Ha!! Dummies. I love the car and still looking for one. I think it's considered one of the safest cars made and when you drive them you feel very safe. So the hunt continues.
@@davidwell686That's interesting. I wondered why the 'melting dash' keeps being mentioned in US reviews of this car, where I live in the tropics it's an unheard-of problem for any Lexus or Toyota, they must have different specifications for different countries.

I'm looking at an '08 with 100k that is in excellent condition with every option as yours has ( incl AWD)...they're asking $12,500...considering the condition and history ( FLA car, now in southern IN) and mileage for a 15 year old, it's a good value...what say you? I'm originally from Stoneham, been in TN since '93, but trying to move back to the area, great to hear your 'accent'! Great video!...You've got a new subscriber...thanks
Stoneham! Love it..I grew up in Everett! Yeah You will love the RX! I sold it last year to my friends kid for $10800 but with 182000 miles..See if you can get it for $11000..they should work with you ..Ask them if the cooling lines have been replaced (if it has it it) Ask if the transmission service was done yet ..fluid change ..If they going get all the money for it see if they will include the transmission service in..worth a shot! Let me if you get it!

Well it ran strong! It is a suv so gas mileage not the best but not terrible..Too bad the suv was totaled 3 weeks after my friend bought it for his son and girlfriend, she rolled it !
@@Nazmisstar yes she is fine, then they bought my Infiniti i35 ...let it overheat ..pulled over on highway in Mass ,State cop told them to move or be towed..so instead of driving off the highway to a gas station/store parking lot..she decided to drive it 11 more miles when the radiator exploded and then the engine seized ! Now they bought my Mercedes CLA240 4Matic Sport Package car about 5 weeks ago..see if they can destroy that one anytime soon,lol..If so I ll find them another car !
Our 2008 at 250K miles gets 21-25mpg on the highway and 18-20 with varied driving. AWD model. On a long trip to NC, after fueling and jumping on the highway for a full tank with cruise set at 70, we hit an amazing 28mpg on that leg.
I just bought a 2015 Lexus RX 350. It rides like you are on clouds ⛅️. However, I am disappointed with the gas ⛽️ mileage. I checked it on a tank of gas and it was 16.5 mpg and some of that was highway miles. I drive conservatively and have air in tires at 35 PSI. Can anybody comment on their mpg and ways to improve it?? It has 49k miles on it. I went to change the fuel filter, but it doesn't show it has one in the owner's manual or auto parts store.
Are you using premium fuel vs reg? Highway is where you ll see better mpg vs city for sure ..28 mph a person just left for a fuel comment at 70 mph (all highway for that tank of fuel)
2016 Highlander All Wheel Drive w/ 100k miles on the clock.. same engine nearly the same vehicle and I average 18.5 mpg and mostly highway. I drive somewhat conservative but when I want to move, I will briefly put my foot in it (burn the carbon out lol)and it scoots pretty well.. just had my plugs done and she purrs nicely now, real peppy again. Also coolant, trans. and diff. changes done with plugs. My tires are Goodyear Assurance Comfort Ride. They were nearly new on it when I purchased the vehicle and I am very impressed with ride, handling and wear. They have exceeded my expectations as I used to be all about Michelin ALL the way on the Toyota's I have had.. but will be replacing them with the same Goodyear when the time comes. I use e15 in 88 octane (reg. 87 when I can't find 88) as much as possible and I run super quiet and super smooth.
I wouldn't buy any RX 350 that's a 2007 or a 2008. Some 2009's are okay. But on the 2007's and 2008's there are way too many built in problems...way too many complaints.
@@BaldadonisMike2021 Yeah, I hear you. But we test drove a 2007 and it had a lot of shimmy on the highway. We would've gotten screwed. However, the 2011 that we DID end up buying had 163,000 and had all kinds of maintenance records but nothing to indicate that the tranny fluid had been changed out. It had no tranny issues returning from Bakersfield to SLO town, but when I tried to drain it from the bottom it was like molasses. Only two quarts came out when you usually get at least three. I think that I caught it just in time. It is a super nice vehicle without all of the problems of the newer ones.
@@criskatan I believe it only lets out so much fluid at a time then you have to do it again after another 10k miles and keep doing that until the fluid is mostly new..it was like that on my sc430.. I could be wrong
@@BaldadonisMike2021 You only need to run it through all the gears while driving down the road @ about 5 seconds each gear. Then take it out on the highway to engage the torque converter and you're good to go as far as another tranny service. So about ten miles worth of driving if even that. I didn't start seeing the red tint in the used fluid until about the seventh service. And even then you have another three or four services before it's close to being completely changed out. If I had it to do all over again I would've taken it to a trustred transmission shop and paid to have them do it all at once.
I wish! Would save me aggravation ..but the gas cap was new from previous owner..but was a cheap one...(new owner rolled the RX last week and totaled it 2 weeks after buying it!)
You should change the title you made it seem like you were naming pros and cons after owning it for 185k miles 😂😂 be like “Pros and Cons buying a Lexus RX with 185k Miles” 😅😅

The most reliable and best SUV I've owned was an RX 400 AWD. Maintenance was easy on the wallet and it didn't have any problems after 250,000 miles of use.
Love it.
Yup the belt would be due w waterpump..I just tried buying a 06 but couldn't make the deal..It had 135000 near mint ..from senior couple
250K? Im so happy you love it! I had a FJ Cruiser w 321000 and sold it 1 year ago..guy still drives it no issues!

I just bought a 2008 Lexus RX 350 and the one thing I noticed and by watching your video help me to confirm maybe maybe a little bit of oil starvation going on. The engine has a little bit of a tick to it and at first I thought it was the gas, but now I'm going to go get it checked out, thanks!
what type of tick? They have the injectors that make a little noise ..let me know what happens!

I just bought one (09 126k miles). Check out the car care nut. He does an entire series on this problem. In the meantime...put royal purple synthetic oil. The rattling is the chain which tends to go away when the car is warm.

Oil, brakes I do myself.

Thank you
hope the info helped!

Wow, I have to say that is one mint condition old Lexus RX. Must’ve been bery well maintained by the previous owner with that much miles on it. 💯
interior was real nice ..being a New England vehicle wasnt perfect but wasnt mint either ..but pretty nice considering ..ty for the comment!

I’m late to the comments here, but you mentioned the VVTI line that needs to be replaced, and that’s true, but the picture you showed was of the oil cooler line. That one is actually more urgent than the VVTI line, so you’re right. The actual VVTI line has the same issue in that the middle of the line is rubber. probably one of the best, if not, THE BEST used reliable luxury SUV for the money - just ask Scotty Kilmer.

I just bought an 08 Lexus RX 350 with 167k miles and it runs and drives perfect.
