I've been learning this style for about three weeks now, and i can tell you, it certainly takes a long time to even pick up the basics, but once you learn about the technique and everything else, it all slowly comes together! I can see how its possible :P But i don't think anybody will ever be on Gomm's level.
We're so lucky to be alive at the same time as this legend.

I saddening to see that people like this guy, John Butler, Tommy Emmanuel and Yiruma are so under rated!!!
Well apart from the superficial ongoing fan-made competition between artists, to label someone as "The Best", while in reality multiple "Bests" could exist. I like Jon Gomm's playing style and technique more than John Butler's. Although am a big fan of the latter too. Different tastes buddy that's all. It is in no way saddening for people to admire a talented musician.

Why have I never heard you before? Your music sounds heavenly. For real, you have a gift.
His nails are part of the music making. I think the mixture of his fingers, nails, hand, all hes does with his guitar is an art. I sounds great. The scratches dont make a sound, except when the scratches happen, and even that sounds good. By the way it guitar has character.
Wonderful inspiration
Probably one of the coolest acoustic parts I've seen in years. Also the most musical part I've ever heard in the percussive acoustic style. Great work. I'm not a huge fan of the vocals, but probably cause I feel this song would have stood on its own as an instrumental. Great work for sure.

What kind of camera was this filmed on? The quality is amazing! and the depth of field is absolutely beautiful.
Any professional camera can do that job. Maybe filmed with a 50 mm lens or any lens with an aperture lower than "f/2.8"

Not just his drumming. Using the pegs to change the sound mid note. That would take so much precision
***** He uses banjo tuning pegs that have preset stops in them for quick tuning changes.
PERFECTION
***** spoiler: they are 'locking banjo tuners' - they actually can't go lower/higher than a tone lol. he sets them up so that he can only raise/lower them a tone, so it's not really precise muscle memory but more twisting until it wont twist anymore.
I dont understand the tipical jealous between guitarist that makes this 13 dislikes.
