this is dangerous, do you want to get Kentucky Ballitict? Ever heard of flyback shrapnell? especially with ceramic plates and steel or tungsten penetrator rounds
like i have been in a Test lab for VPAM - the EU version of the NIJ - they shoot the plates at 5 meters - the remote solenoid fired proof shooting benchmounted gun and the amount of flyback shrapnell over the years is enough that the wall behind the gun is splattered with some pretty hefty holes of penetrators comming back sideways - also the gun itself, every year or so they need to recrown or replace the barrel because shit flys back and hits the muzzle - and the optics for adjusting each shot to the wanted impact pattern.... please refrain from doing that again even if its a cool video it is not worth your bodily health or even eyesight every 200 or so erounds one comes back, you can be lucky a long time but at times we had 3 come back in a row, and come back close that is, like in linewith the barrel hitting a imagined shooter pretty much in the face or forehead

Can you do a harsh test on a polyethylene plate?

As far as I see here this armor is a great buy but as is the case with any ceramic plates the problem is when you get to the more powerful rounds, even if the plate prevents penetration, the back deformation still may cause a lethal wound, while the problem with level 4 steel ballistic armor such as AR-500 is the weight. Frankly, I'm not sure this type of armor would prevent lethal wounds as the vest would actually enter the torso. I've seen level 4 ceramic plates placed on a ballistic dummy and though the armor caught the AP rounds the sternum of the dummy was still chattered due to back deformation. The type of damage I saw on the ballistic dummy makes me doubt the likelihood of the wounds caused by the back deformation would be survivable. For that reason,if I were wanting protection against high powered rifle rounds weather AP or not I might opt for metal plates regardless of the weight. Just my two.

If it can't stop a .50bmg, I AM OUT! lol

Polyethylene plates can stop soft core .50 BMG but with lots of backface deformation expectedly.

If the plate you're wearing stops a .50BMG all that energy goes somewhere. Your internal organs will be jello.

Are these NIJ certified ? I don't mean "Built to NIJ level 4 standard" but *certified* ? (great test btw, instant "like" from me :)

No. I know it's not technically certified, but they are independently tested by the same lab (hp white) that tests armor for the NIJ. So it's almost a yes, not just youtuber tested

      Not for $100 per plate.
