I saw him in seattle 4 years ago. I have listened to him even before I knew who he was in the 70's, backing up bands as a guest performer. He has always been on my playlists. He is the greatest sax man ever. Rest in peace.
This concert is very special ......David Sanborn is playing his ass off as usual, but the other musicians are incredible.....Bass and drums!!!!!!! Guitar ! Percussions ! Keyboards! MASTERS !!!!!!!
Saw this same show and tour band at Town Hall in NYC few months later and Dean Brown sounded just as good....David even gave a shout-out to Dean's dance moves....cool dudes!
16:35 band-introduction David Sanborn, sax Ricky Peterson, keys Richard Patterson, bass Rocky Bryant, drums Don Alias, percussion Dean Brown, guitar Chikago-Song starts at 1:11:54.
betaguy Sanborn is sadly not in same category as them...but he is very good. they say that sanbor doesnt want to be connected only to smooth jazz but then why does he usues this squeaky sound all along? he should change the mouthpiece, reid or the whole sax cause this is pure smooth jazz sound.
I absolutely must say that no one did it like Hiram...he & David Sanborn (and Al Jarreau) made some unforgettable music together. With all three on the bill, (and Will too!) you knew it was going to be a magnificent and a fresh show like no other! I feel so fortunate to have seen them so many times together! I always left loving each one's style as much as the others; yet hearing how each enhanced and brought the best out in the others. It was mesmerizing and truly inventively delightful. Ahhh yes, back in the day ~

Esta Banda suena de puta Madre. Check desde min 19. Ricky no usa teclados rojos. David Sanborn les abrió camino a muchos.
The Man Playing Congas and Percussion on Rikke or Snakes is Great. I apologize for not knowing his name. As far as David Sanborn. Like him or not --- he reinvented the Alto Sound.
Keeping the reed moist is essential to having it perform equally throughout the whole gig. So that's why all red players either cap or lick it from time to time.
I've been in bands where the leader can get a little upset with the lead guitarist for getting too far out, it tends to make some leaders a little nervous. I can picture Sanborn biting his lip on occasion. I do like the guitarist, some of his moves can get a little quirky.
Dean.... you are missed and loved!❤

Not only is David Sanborn one of the beat alto saxophonist in the world but his sound is so recognizable that you know it's him with that first note.
There will never be another David Sanborn.
thank god for that
Line up : Dean Brown : guitar & dance instructor, Ricky Peterson : keyboards, Richard Patterson : bass, Rocky Bryant : drums, Don Alias : percussions
Eu na minha particularidade ,sigo o saxofonista David Sanborn como um dos maiores na atualidade !!!

His music is the light of my life. He always pulls me up whatever the weather. Lovu David Sandborn, light of my life. Take care.
Thee coldest White sax player I've ever heard. He also gives the rest of the players a good run for their money. DS will be missed, for sure 🖤...
RIP David, Dean and Don! They're jamming up there!
I'm listening and always have

Richard Patterson was playing bass with Miles Davis 30 years ago and doesn’t look a day older!!
The combined talent in this band is off the charts.

@@dissco.partysan3333 if you think this is all pure smooth Jazz, you need to go back to the books.
What books? Its music man...
The music books, because you clearly have no idea what smooth Jazz is.
God Bless. It's good to hear you guys after such a long time. Thanks David Sanborn.

I don't know how he does it, but his sax playing is like a painter painting bright tones, it reminds me of a captivating and serene sunset.
Man, i really love Dean Brown sound.
+Luiz Janela ..hey.. I love this guy.. Does he remind you of Joe Cocker? I first saw him with George Duke live in concert
+JazzKeyboardist1 I don't know Joe Cocker very well to say this, but at first sight i'd said that they are very different lol
or maybe he resembles John Belushi doing a Joe cocker impression

I think David would feel more comfortable with Hiram on guitar. But I love Dean's approach!
Oh man, that dude on guitar jumped in strong but a half-step high at the 1:02 mark on "Snake"....
