Oh yes, I feel better now I’ve had my cup of tea and a Crobot!
Bless you ,Thanks for joining us 😊
Always entertaining , many thanks........stay safe and well xx
Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂 😊
Light sand on the floor and if you want to, put on a sealer. Copper is beautiful! But I’m still waiting for y’all to get storage! 😂
Great job! Thank you for sharing!
I just had a long day in Memphis today and it was great to see the two of you. You make me want to laugh and drink, and sometimes I do both at the same time 😂
thats a really good idea, we have already started the process unfortunately and then realised halfway that a half sand would have been better. Thanks so much for joining us on our journey week after week it really means alot, it really makes all the madness worth while with comments like your Shoan, have a lovely Christmas ❤️❤️
Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year you two. That copper loves lovely, repurposing is king! Heating is one hell of a project isn't it? I wonder, allowing for tome to film and edir, whether you havd a functional stove as yet? Maybe keep that a secret!😂🤣. Enjoyed the year(or two) of work on the boat, you strike a steady balance of one step forward, half a step back. Keep up the videos as we do appreciate knowing what you're working on. Regards. Paul.
Merry Christmas to you too, the copper has taken the pain away from the floor, something tells me were going to have to bring this mess back and start from fresh, its looking good for Christmas....were preying for heat, thanks so much for noting all the hard work of the project, cheers Paul
The fire is looking wonderful. Hope you’re able to fix the floor color to make you happy. It’s beautiful now. Hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas and New Years and have heat very soon to be able to use all the coal santa will bring Chris!
its going to take a little work but we will get there, thats a good point....imagine all the heat we will get from his coal basket 😂😂
To be honest I loved the colourful patina and would have kept the copper panels as they were.
I loved it too but I couldn't convince Chris to let me keep it that way!! 😂 He wasn't so convinced!!
@@TheNomadicCrobot Ehh, that's a shame, it was such a unique organic design. The clean copper is lovely but a bit flat in comparison.
Bad Chris.
Oh that looks amazing guys! Well done. Another step closer to sailing woop woop 🙌 🙌.xx
Thanks, we're so close now to getting this mighty thing lit, Bex has really gone all out on it, o really couldn't keep up with her if I tried. hope you have a fantastic Christmas ❤️❤️
@@TheNomadicCrobot
Aww Bex is star ⭐️ she’s a bloody good worker she is. And you Chris you’ve both done so well. And all the while keeping us all entertained. Hope you both have the best crimbo ever guys. All the very best! 🎄🎄🎄🎄 xxx
Sorry to hear about people complaining!
So far you have achieved to: Clean and dry your bilge. Build a new galley. Replaced all flooring. Relined some of the electric. Made a lot of plumbing. Rebuild and mounted the hatches. And so on.
You have also given us, your followers, hundreds of moments with joy and happiness.
I love it!
Thanks so much for noticing Rolf, its been a long hard journey, so much work has gone into it along with trying to film all the parts for everyone...and to make it all watchable when things aren't fully completed , glad you notice and appreciate all the work weve put into this project, Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🥳.
Fireplace is looking epic.
Not so much the floor but nothing that can’t be fixed, you need to get some serious Heat in there for a couple of days and make sure it’s completely dried out, then because the Boards are pretty chunky it might be simpler to get a Industrial Sander and take them right the way back….. But do tests after each full pass over the floor and see what you think ? It maybe that after a couple of passes you get a nice Grain pattern from where the Wax oil has managed to penetrate,so you will have Clean Wood and a Darkish Grain ??? Or you are just going to have to take them right the way back ( they are thick boards so you can afford to loose a bit of thickness and because it was too cold I don’t think the Wax oil has penetrated very deeply anyway !! ).
Maybe get your fireplace sorted out so you can get a good bit of heat into the Boat and the Wood, bear in mind it might take longer than a couple of days for it to dry out completely 🤷♂️.
The Copper looks Lovely and you have both done a great job with it.
Don’t worry about the Flooring though, that is easily rectified and you definitely Don’t need to Rip it all out but you are going to have to be a bit Patient with it now.
Anyway…… Happy Chrimbo ❤
Take a bit of time out and get rat arsed and forget about the Boat ❤
Thanks treacly is getting there. the floor will get there too but it's probably going to have to be brought back again. we do have a belt sander so hopefully it shouldn't take too long. Doing it again when we have a bit of heating would be a good idea as that certainly didn't help the process.
Thank fully the copper has come out great and given us some hope.
Hope you have a lovely Chrimbo❤️ Merry Christmas from The Crobots ❤️❤️
Nice dark brown floor, I presume it's not a dirty protest on the amount of time it's taking you to continuously cruise the Cut. As you both said, this time of year is much too cold, and seeing that the floor is below the water line it must be even colder. But no worries, Spring is on its way, Boing!
kinda looks that way 😂 will maybe bring it back and start fresh when its. tad warmer, what a nightmare Garry
🎄Christmas Greetings 🤶🎅🏻 Mr & Mrs Crobot you creative Powerhouses! 🏭
Why thank you, and hope you have an awesome Christmas too ❤️❤️
The copper looks really good, it was worth all the hard work to clean it and shape it. Hope you get the fire sorted soon. Have a great time at Christmas
We're getting there, all ready for a warmish Christmas fingers crossed, have a lovely Christmas
Sanding might be hard work , with dust everywhere .The Wax may also Clog any sandpaper quite quickly . So may be , try a Heat Gun to start with ( not on Paint Stripper Heat ) to soften the wax , so you can then rub some of the Wax off with a Cloth ( going along the grain on a couple of strips at a time ). It might lighten the wood enough to get a nice finish . 😊
sanding it back seams to be the way to go, but will be hard job, exactly...the wax will probably just stick to the sander pads so will have to stock up. thats a good idea...imagine if it all went a blaze 😂😂
Hi Becca, Chris, The floor is not too bad. I'm sure you will find a solution to make it look amazing as you always do. The Copper looks wonderful, Well done both. Who would have thought, that after Becca finding an old piece of rubbish copper, how well it would polish up. Great editing as always, quite subtle in places with some of the dubbing (some lasting only a second) , but I noticed and enjoyed it. Great to hear the Dramtic Music. Another great Vlog. Not sure when your next Vlog is, so wishing you both a Very Happy Christmas. Spoolbox.
A bit of a shock with the floor but nothing we can fix over a few days, just a bit of elbow grease. were really happy how the copper came out...thanks for your lovely words...were glad it looks that great one film. Thanks for noticing all the tiny editing tricks...it really does make it all worth while, were hoping for one just after Christmas for this years Christmas party, so hope you have an amazing Christmas Spoolbox ❤️❤️
The copper really looks wonderful. If you get the fireplace installed and working, the floor will go quite quickly. I agree with the person who mentioned an industrial sander--fast and effective. Add heat, a bit of wax, and what looked like a Willy Wonka nightmare will look absolutely delicious.
Happy Saturnalia!
the copper came up really great, Bex continues to amaze us all, we have a belt sander at the ready....and it actually turned out to be a bit of a long winded job, but we got there...willy wonder would be proud 😂😂
That piece of copper was curved around the back of a stove ... looking forward to seeing it😊
Bless Bex...shes done amazing, Keep warm on the marina ❤️❤️
Grand job on the copper floor I not so sure but guess you sort it maybe if you had heat it would have been ok Seasons Greetings to you both from us oldies do hope Santa takes those spiders away lol xx🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🤗🤗
yeah the copper has really come up nice, the floor not so much, what a nightmare 😂 take care and have a beautiful Christmas and new year ❤️❤️
The copper is looking great. I hope you manage to find a solution for the floor. Wishing you all the best for xmas and 2024.
Thank you so much ,we have big plans next year, fingers crossed it all goes to plan, have a lovely Christmas 🎄
Wow the copper looks lovely guys x Just think, if you had done 3 videos a week the boat would have been finished ages ago 🤔😂
Thats a very good point haha, well at least the copper looks great
Fireplace is cruising along 🔥 as for floor I’d suggest an industrial floor sander to take it back. If you want to use that wax oil apply the coats very sparingly with a cloth but as always I’m an Osmo advocate 👊💚
Yes it's looking that way, bring it back again and start from fresh, seams we have our hands tied ,have a cracking Christmas 🎄
Looking fantastic! Well done Bex! 🤗 So very nearly there!
And Chris…That reaction to a visit from an 8 legged friend was epic! So funny 😂 It was prob only the size of a money spider but in your eyes… it was a tarantula! 😱🤣
Take care lovely pair 😘🌻❤️
I really dont no whats wrong with me when a spider comes into close contact with me, I just turn into a little girl 😂😂 it really was about the size of a 1p coin 😂😂 take care an have. a lovely Christmas ❤️
It’s not the size that matters! 😂😂😂
Wishing You and Bex a Very Wonderful Christmas! 😘❤️🌻
That copper is awesome! If you are unhappy with the layers of product on the flooring, I agree with the others that suggest renting a floor sander to take the product off. The quicker you get that "behind" you, the quicker the corner can be finished up. You need heat! Hum, that might have been the mother in me concerned about heat in your floaty home 😇 Enjoy the process. You are doing a lovely job !
Cheers and Happy Christmas!🌲🎄
Becca has really excelled with the copper, what a great idea, I somehow feel it wouldn't have turned out the same if I had done it. I feel we will have bring the floor back again...what a mess, Merry Christmas ❤️
I wud sand back the floor and put either a lighter colour wax or just clear varnish it , copper come up really nice suits the space it was made for x
I think that may be the way to go, also when its a bit warmer, the copper has come up amazing, thank you so much ❤️
Love the FP look and the copper is awesome. Merry Christmas and love the channel.
Thanks Glen, what a lovely comment Merry Christmas
Well Mr & Mrs Wonka, I see a trip to the Hire Centre for a Floor Sander with fine grade sand paper coming on, quickest way to sort out your River of Chocolate. In my humble opinion, just clear coat the damb thing and get it over and done with so I don't have to watch another repeat of your Christmas vlog next year, getting more like the BBC with all these repeats at Christmas. Merry cold Christmas and Happy New Year to you both from The Expert Joiner ( who has a perfectly working multi fuel fire and is very warm )🤣🤣🤣🤣
haha yes I feel we will have full back this chocolatey mess and start from scratch. we are actually putting up a Christmas video for this year...we just wanted to rehash last years to get people I to the festive mood...it was a bonus vid. Merry Christmas Dave thanks for watching and keep warm 😂😂
Looking fantastic so far,as for the floor I’d second mistaterps idea of the industrial floor sander
thanks, yes it looks like the belt sander may need to come out again
Copper looks great wishing you both a merry Christmas and a happy new year
Thanks, Merry Christmas and a happy new year ❤️❤️
Merry Christmas Bex and Chris. Hope you and your loved ones have a fun and safe holiday. Best wishes for getting your floor fixed up and the stove area up and running. Both looking fabulous. D
Thank you Deb and merry Christmas to you, hope you have a lovely festive holiday ❤️❤️
I think it’s going to be summer before you get your fire installed lol
Haha could you imagine 🤣
Try rubbing the floor with a medium-coarse steel wool.
what a great idea.... unfortunately its too late😂
Interesting, if totally out-of-control, re-model on your living space and home. Good job with the copper chimney surround. I wonder how long before it starts melting. Thanks for explaining about the lacquer - i have the exact same extreme warning high-temperature, high ventilation issue. Was going to use it as fixer on gyprock sheets . Oh wait, you varnished the sheet. I'll check the vids for the plumbing, and the LEAKS. Which should be fun
Thank you so much and good luck with your own adventures, it seams we all have so much work on our hands
@05:13 Tiny spider, 1000 times smaller than Chris was spotted here. Turns out it was just being nice and moving out of the way for them to work.
Correct....and good theory 😂😀
Bex you are amazing to have the vision of making good use of the things that you find. I award you the Uncle Bulgaria Standard of Wombling Honour. Chris I believe your certificate from the Reg Prescott School of DIY is ready for you to collect... xxx
isn't she great, there is never a job to big, me on the other hand should probably stick to tea duties haha ❤️😊👍
Never underestimate the importance of tea duties. @@TheNomadicCrobot
You're getting there! Got to admire your patience and persistence. I'll miss these videos when you start cruising but hopefully you'll do other things to entertain us watchers
Thanks so much, what a long winded adventure, hopefully it hasn't got to boring with all the DIY but its been a bit out of our hands, here's to cruising in 2023
Copper looks brilliant, confident you will solve the middle bit issue. Floor - sand with your sander, that will remove excess wax/oil and leave the colour in the groove of the grain. You could try getting a greese remove and mopping it off-again it would leave the colour in the grain. Do you know that your heater has a face on top of it, 2 eyes, nose and a smile !
Copper has come up great, we're both so chuffed. Yes I think the floor looks like it needs some serious attention, haha thats funny about the heater...we love a face 😂😂
Now Copper that , nice job you two ,well done .
Thanks 😊
Great job both keep up the great work and hope all go's to plan with the floor and Merry Christmas to you both 👍
Thanks Garry, Merry Christmas to youuuuu ❤️❤️
Nice one looks good the floor looks ok when you get ya stuff bk in there you won’t see much of it anyway and am sure it will get lighter the more it gets walked on have a top week and a merry Xmas if I don’t see a vid before Xmas 🙂🎸🔧🌲✌️
I feel we will probably have to bring the floor back, at least the copper looks good, were hoping for a video just after Christmas so have your self an amazing Christmas Lee😄
have you thought of rolling around in the floor and getting a free back wax. 🙂
Now there's an idea 😂
Sand the floor back lightly, you will still have the stain in the grain but the surface will be lighter, then put a hard wearing clear coat over the top to protect it.
This is what we should have done, unfortunately weve already started 😒
Fantastic job! Well done you 2!
Cheers Ian
An idea for your next floor or any wood items if you want to stain .There's a very simple technic for controlling stain french i believe You give your wood surface 1 or 2 coats of varnish this prevents the stain from soaking in to the wood, sand and stain. This does not allow the stain to penetrate deeply in to the wood so unevenly gives you absolute 100 % of you tone of color if you don't like it just wipe it of with no problems you then need to give your item a clear coat of some kind probably 2 or more coats I've refinished hundreds of things this technic is simple once understood nd will give great satisfaction in the finished project . I am so sorry about your floor but I have seen this done so many I can't count . Another thing to be careful with when using stain you can never stir it to much and always use a rag Personally not a fan of the brush to apply as stain and always have plenty of rags on the job even if you have to by some. You can always start over just put new flooring down your choice . Happy Trails This how furniture refinish furniture nad can match the old colortone .
Thats very interesting thanks for the tips, some people have said to maybe use a cloth and to leave a brush out of the process completely, so I think next time we will be doing a larger test area and possibly in warmer conditions too
Just sand your floor back to remove the majority of the stain / wax and clear coat it. It hopefully will dry much lighter and maintain the darker grains. Good luck.
that seams to be the way, it will be a hard job but something has to happen😒
I would have recommended Belgium Alu Polish, excellent stuff, polishes and protects. Last a decent amount of time between polishing
Thanks interesting thanks for the heads up ❤️😊
If people complain send them my way lol. Looking good glad you haven't name your boat titanic
Thank you Simon 🤣🤣
Oooooo copper shiny and looking fantastic guys. Nearly there 😊 👏 👏 👏
cheers buddy, hope your well 😊👍
Looking great well worth the hard work
Thank you 😊
I loooove the copper looks great. The floors??? I’m no expert but you may have to sand them, that could be a bugger, so dusty. Stuff it, leave it until after Christmas. I think you finish jobs, might take a few episodes to do it but you do get them finished and we don’t know how many days of videoing goes into one job, beside some of those tiny finishing up jobs are just awful. The fire is now so close I can feel the heat. OK guys, great job. See you soon. 💕
Hi Pauline, the copper looks so lovely...what a great idea from Bex, we did know buy using i it would probably make for a larger job but the idea that Becca came up with just looked to good to pass on. were nearly there. Have a lovely Christmas ❤️
Good job so far............well done.
Thank you ❤️
good vid on the channel looks good good work on the boat keep up the good vid thanks lee
Thanks so much Lee☺️
You and your spider phobia Chris. Wanna hear a scary story? I had a false widow trapped in a glove when I went litter picking last month, didn’t realise until my arm started aching. I had been bitten and ended up in A & E. The internet says it is like a wasp sting. Cobblers, I have never felt pain like it.
Don’t have nightmares 😉
that is terrifying!!!! how many do you recon boaty people swallow a year??? luckily there all harmless really but they do freak me out 😂😂
I've got the golden tiiiiickkketttt! Best laid schemes o' mice and men B and C. All the best, nothing like a fire to make it all just a bit better!
Once that fire is lit so much pressure will be gone. Fingers crossed Bex can make it happen ☺️😂
SPIDERS 🕷️ 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️😱 Bex could have her own DIY RUclips channel ….with you too Chris 😊. The copper looks great! Can’t wait until you have heat which I hope 🤞🏼 is before Christmas. Great job, and nice work Chris on the one rivet 😂
😊🤗 Kathy
yup....spiders 😂😂 and weve just discovered a huge false widow mama living in our horn, but shes cool...she keeps herself to herself. Fingers crossed for heat Kathy...its looking very good right now, have a lovely Christmas ❤️
Tiptop, looking good guys !
Thanks so much 😊
did you seal the wood before putting on the wax? Applying wax on top of other products ,can be tricky ,it would have ben better to roller it on ,,would have stopped the pooling ,and it does need buffing up ,
we didnt only the bottles that sit over the bilges, so fingers crossed we will be ok. its been a tricky process...we probably should have waited for some heat
Looking good, Merry Christmas to you both
Thanks Nick Merry Christmas to you 😊
Yep have to say the floor is a bit of a disaster!
It really had been Mandy 😅 hope your well and have a great week
@@TheNomadicCrobot thank you my favourite twosome . Can’t wait to see it all done ! Hope you guys have a good week and the warmest of christmases :) xxx
The floor I’m afraid ain’t good! You could vinyl over the lot or carpet it, If I were you I’d get someone to do it for you if you cover it.
no it didnt turn out great, time to start from fresh
Love the thumbnails. Sand it back and make it look distressed.
Cheers dude, yeah looks like were gonna have to pull the sander out again😂😂
❤
Did Becks say knacker the copper 😂😂. Oh noooo Lacquer the copper. (Detective movie)- you’ll never take me alive copper!
I think she may have done 😂😂 this is brilliant ❤️
I did say it looks a bit dark.
oh dear
Ace job Rebecca 👍
Thank you 😊
Merry Christmas to you both wish you all the best for the new year bex will need it with Chris ❤🧑🏻🎄
Bex definitely will😂 thanks, have a great Christmas and an even better New year ❤️
Is today the day 🙏
Hmmmm....we will see😂
Thanks
Thank you so much for all your support it really does mean alot, have a lovely Christmas ❤️❤️
Omg''' You made a mess of that gorgeous floor . you should have used a tinted clearcoat.
I just... I can't believe it.all that hard work for nothing. Lol
What a terrible outcome we should have maybe waited for the fire to heat up the area more, at least it can be fixed
@@TheNomadicCrobot yes it is . Besides, we all make mistakes.I'm just teasing.enjoy the festive season,🎉✨✨🎆🎊
I believe it was a spider. 🕷🕷🕷
you are correct 5 gold stars 👍👍👍👍👍
Spider!
spot on👍👍👍👍👍 5 gold thumbs up
Please please hurry up and get boat done. I am spending too much time on my phone. And RUclips
sorry Simon😭😭
@@TheNomadicCrobot being on phone is bad for my mental health
The copper panels have copper nipples now!!!
haaaa love it
A descendent of Charlotte, you Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web.
this is spot on😂
Your not really living onboard are you
Yes we are here most of the time apart from washing runs and a weekly trip to see family
All those coats, scarves, hats kinda give the game away. They are freezing !
Would buffing the floor help? Remove the excess with the warmth from the buffing friction helping the wax absorb into the wood?
Yes maybe, after we started sanding it back it actually started looking alot lot better
Thanks
Thank you so much for this, such a kind gesture, hope you have a lovely week ❤️
