After weeks of work at our abandoned stone cottage in Ireland, we finally have our temporary off grid home finished (well almost, is it ever?)
This week we complete the woodworking projects with new double entrance gates as well as some much needed landscaping additions and some much needed off grid lighting.
Lou has the new DJI portable power station which will be excellent for vanlife, road trips, camping and most importantly for us right now, off grid living.
Now that we are settled on our off grid land, we can really start to focus on restoring our 200 year old cottage, you don't want to miss the next video.. walls should be coming down and ive a feeling there will be stone fly everywhere!

Good day Emily, Sunday’s come round again. Marvellous opening sequence tell her, she’s good….and congratulate her on the gate! Obviously, apart from the trailcam, you digging up the garden for the pavers was this weeks highlight and using expert ‘stomping’ technique. It’s all coming together. Such a lovely vid! And, you got me do it! Assembled and installed one partly pre-fab fencing section and one gate with latch. Charged up the battery powered yellow drill and just envisioned how you did it all. Your awesome rehab of the property is absolutely inspiring to the max. And, yeah, that's me at 67 years old and super rusty with tools and such, and it's already made such a helpful difference here. Thanks ladies!!!🪛💘

You both have done such great work in bringing your back yard together. I would suggest that the little animals will eventually join you around the fire watching the movies. When we set up outside watching movies and BBQ we usually find evidence in the morning of where they settled behind us, getting the warmth and checking for left overs. Enjoy your labour of love. ❤

You already inspired me to learn to use a drone for footage (so I went to CEX only a week ago and been really enjoying it) - now I find out the drone they had in stock is the same as your recommended manufacturer! The advantage of laying the path as gravel like the van driveway is that you will never slip on wet gravel or on moss build up, both of which you will get with the concrete/ slate / limestone steps.

Finally found out what that package was! Lovely bit of kit too. I have something similar to run my fridge. Even in the pishing rain, the solar keeps it running 24/7. Couldn’t live without it.
