@@HK-gm8pe I mean antidepressants and adhd meds make people feel dull or like zombies who’s to say antipsychotics don’t do that to psychic people…but to be fair we don’t see her outside of the woods with powers like she has in the woods like I think it’s fair to assume that even if she was psychic before she has heightened powers because of the woods and the others are acting weird coz of it too like Tai basically has dissociative episodes, shauna had a dream that told the future, etc.
When shauna said, “she wants us to”, I didn’t take it as her baby saying that but that it was Jackie. I didn’t think for a second that it was her baby saying that. She was already trying to justify eating Jackie earlier in the episode when Jackie was “helping her” by cutting up her skin that Jackie wanted her to do it. Anyone else think that?
i did not think she was saying her baby was saying to either...i do think it could be argued that she could have been craving jackie meat cause of her pregnancy tho cause people crave weird things when they're pregnant, they're all starving, and she's going through a lot of shit with jackie's death...ya know all that shit make it more believable she would do that
I immediately thought she was talking about Jackie.. I assumed that’s why she justified the scent attracting them all, like a gift almost. I’m pretty sure she was only holding her stomach because she was pregnant, right? I’m on the same boat as you
I thought it was Jackie she was talking about, too. Honestly, I often forget Wilderness Shauna is pregnant. She's always so fixated on Jackie, even after death. Anything to not think of the baby. That baby represents so much guilt and shame for her. I think Shauna's mental health is just gonna get worse as time goes on.
I've been pretty sure for a while that the heart necklace is given to the one designated to be the sacrifice. There seems to be a whole ritual around the hunting and the hunted, including what the hunted wears. I mean, pit girl wasn't just wandering around in a nightgown when the others decided to hunt her.
Oh you made me think of something! Pit Girl from the beginning was also wearing a nightgown like Lottie was in Travis vision when he was making love to Nat. So is there going to be ritual thing? Or just a coincidence
The thing that gets me about the wind scene at the end is that this scene is just for the audience, not the girls as they don't see what's happening, so gives us a sense of something else is going on and not the girls "delusion"
I usually don't watch "Next on" scenes at the end of shows, because they usually reveal too much, So if people don't want to know, stop reading. But I did see that the small prop plane that blew up shows back up, covered in snow,. If that is really the case, it kind of puts the Supernatural question to rest. It's making it seem like the plot from "The Endless". Which I highly recommend if you like this kind of story telling. The Endless is about a handful of self contained time loop bubbles. Once you are in one you're pretty much stuck there and everything just repeats. The cool part is some of the time loops take years before they start over and some are literally only a few seconds long and everything in between and they instantly start over and immediately repeat (Imagine the horror). So if you get stuck in the wrong one, it's a nightmare. I would highly recommend this indie, low budget film to anyone that likes Yellowjackets.
The episode is called Edible Complex, a play of Oedipus Complex… also, a story about Thebes - a lot to unpack just from that starting point to add to what you went into, but just tacking on!
I’m 99% sure Javi is alive as I don’t see it being such a major plot point complete with Nats lie. I think they are charging towards whoever he’s with when it shows them all with weapons running
i agree but i don't think he makes it out of the woods...like why would javi not be there for his brother? he could tho because the writers did say they originally were gonna make adam javi but that the idea was short lived so maybe he is alive idk
Javi is definitely still alive. I think this is what ultimately causes the rift between Travis and Natalie- because he finds out that she lied to him. The moss growing on the tree suggests there is some kind of heat source and water source nearby. A lot of people have theorised that the underground bunker might be there and maybe Javi hid there. But then the question becomes what is his food source?
Funny how pig skin and meat is extremely similar to human skin and meat, that's why it's used in crime scene forensic testing for ballistic and blade injuries. I would imagine what they were smelling was just like roasted pig on a spit. Probably tasted like it too.
I absolutely love your reviews and theories. I know you explained that you are not great with name pronunciations but your theorizing about the pit girl being MARI not Mary, pronounced MAR - REE. Another girl it could be is the new chick (or was she always in the background?) Lisa (played by Nicole Maines) who also has long black hair and is a little more meaner than MARI (telling the Show tunes girl to shut up). Thanks for your time in reviewing all of this. Absolutely a fan.
I know a lot of people have a mixed feelings about the supernatural implications, but with this latest episode I honestly am kind of hoping there is some sort of supernatural entity like a wendigo or demon or forrest spirit making them act this way because it makes it just a tiny bit less gross if they’re possessed than if they are just so desperate, mentally unstable, and hungry they decided it was okay to eat Jackie. I know everything that’s happening CAN be explained without any supernatural intervention but it would make it spookier and little easier to forgive some of the nastier aspects of their behavior if they were being ..possessed or twisted or influenced if you get my drift. Just my own opinion, no offense intended.
the creators have explicitly stated there is no monster in the woods. no physical entity. the whole show is about what is real and what is a reaction from trauma. i truly believe they will never confirm or deny the supernatural aspects. it's up to the viewer to decide.
The showrunners have left that up for interpretation. Despite how nauseating the idea of eating a classmate is, what bothers me is that they technically weren't starving yet. They were almost out of food, but not quite there. People are usually at the very edge before they decide to go this route. It would be more forgivable if they had been starving. But they weren't yet.
@@may.k_me not starving as in, on the brink of death, their bodies eating themselves starving. but they were god damn close enough, and the smell of that BBQ jackie was too much to resist for most all of them. i think that's why we see ben back away, he's the only one not taken in by the darkness of it all and thinking rationally.
@@may.k_me I agree to that. In the movie “Alive” about the rugby team that crashes in the alps, they made a point that this was a very serious matter if life and death and it was argued over for a matter of days before it was somewhat agreed upon, whereas here it’s …sort of almost like all the characters feel as if they’ve already gone so far down a certain path of unspeakable behavior they can now do whatever they want and it is alright, if that makes sense? I know they’re all very young and traumatized but this scene with its bacchanal sort of celebration flashes of mass hysteria or hallucinations or however a person takes it was beautifully done but also…really disturbing like you said because they did have some rations left and they’re not even slightly grossed out, they’re literally enjoying themselves. I guess that’s done for the shock value. Still nasty though.
@@doublefeature ah, that is kind of a little disappointing to me. I loved what the the movie Antlers did with the Wendigo legend was semi hoping for something similar but I understand both sides of the idea.
I love shows like these. I"d like to offer my 2 cents. Their time in the wilderness was transformative, clearly. I'll start with Lottie. She's the shaman of the tribe. Her visions give strength and conviction to the tribe for their survival. Hunger is the most basic and powerful drive. The shrooms (S1) revealed their inner character or soul, as I prefer to say. Shauna is the most conflicted of the group. Her private time w/ Jackie proves. Taissa is not that different but it is much deeper. The shamanic explanation is they're running away from the truth of themselves. I'd like to speak of Natalie and Travis but I've never cared to write entire essays on these boards. I'll finish by saying that Dionysus represents the madness required to survive sometimes. Great breakdown.
I have a theory about Javi. I think since Misty found out coach was gay she is keeping him somewhere. She is all about control and wanting someone to love her. She knows how to drug people. That’s the only thing I can think of that would explain him being alive. Anything else wouldn’t make sense.
Then she is reading her diary like "My long lost friend" when she ate her!!! How can she sit there with Jackie's parents calmly and look through her high school diary when she ate this person, even when no one was looking!!!
They roasted Jackie like chicken. I yelled as soon as that snow landed on her 😭🍗. The ending with the back and forth of them shown at the table dressed up, and what they really look like on top of using Radiohead's Climbing up the wall song was beautifully yet terrifyingly done
bit of a weird theory, but I think the little brother is in that mossy tree. as things decompose they produce heat which is why its not covered in snow, the kids basically compost, and why Lottie thinks she can ''feel him'' with her taking on the role as nature's avatar/orical/shaman/thingy. there was also a lot of stuff in season 1 about them putting offerings inside that sacred tree stump like the bear heart.
Yeah there is a good chance he was there. I'm working on a theory that he survived by staying in a cave in the mountains during the winter. And that tree was close to the mountains
The baby doesn't want them to eat Jackie "It's ok. She wants us to." She IS Jackie. Remember what Lottie said when they'd captured stag Travis? "It's ok. He wants us to." To Shauna whilst she held a knife to his throat.
yeah plus the last scenes of her and dead ass jackie are Jackie literally saying 'it's ok, you're hungry.' aka giving her the all clear to keep snacking. i think a lot of people got confused because she grabs her belly right before she says that but it's only to signify the hunger.
No I think Lottie was referring to whatever tree spirit she worships. And I think they were saying JACKIE wanted them to and she was ok with it so they didn't feel guilty
I’m not sure how or why but I 💯 believe that javi is still alive. I don’t think they’d be pushing so hard with Lottie insisting that he’s still alive and Natalie trying so hard to convince Travis that he’s dead if it wasn’t going to lead to the twist of him being alive. Not only would it be a shocker and invite a bunch of crazy stuff stemming from however he survived but it’ll also push for everyone to believe in Lottie even more
Most reasonable explanation is Javi accidentally stumbled upon rescue months ago and is now either trying to find them or scared to try to find them because of the circumstances of him running away in the first place
yeah but how would he have stayed alive? only way how is when he maybe found that planewreck and stayed in there....but then still he doesnt have anything to eat... its impossible for him to be still alive unless there is something supernatural going on
One thing that shocked me was how they all decided to cremate Jackie right in front of the cabin. It takes a LONG time for bodies to be cremated, and on top of that they are doing it out in the open in the middle of winter. I can't believe they were okay with the idea of being able to smell burning flesh. Just the thought of it is making me nauseous. I didn't anticipate that the smell would attract them and make them want to eat her, although I did think it was a possibility. Another thing that surprised me was that I thought there would be more people unwilling to partake in the "feast" (Natalie esp, idk) It's obvious the coach is next. The season's trailer even had the girls carrying a tied up body on a stick.
I would have expected Lottie to make another statement about a bear sacrificing itself or something and a wild animal coming due to the smell of human remains. I also don't feel they really showed or portrayed how hungry the girls really were. No one was complaining and the very few clues were just how they had little meat left and everyone's bowls were getting smaller. No one was really acting like they were starving to death before making this choice to me. I would have preferred if they were entirely out of meat and only had broth for days and were harping on Travis and Nat to get a deer or bring back food.
@@blackdandelion5549 yes! I had the same issue. The show didn't convincingly portray the level of hunger that they would have been feeling. Also no one struggled with the idea of eating Jackie? They all just sort of looked at each other waiting for permission, but there wasn't any internal moral conflict
i think everyone has forgotten that callie is 17 years old...she is in high school, they've talked about how she doesn't have much money in her college fund, she lives with her parents, still has to get rides places, and is in trouble for going to parties...callie is 17 in a bar, so she's obviously gonna pretend she's in college cause she's not gonna out herself to a grown adult she wants to make out with...that being said, if what you said happens that cop is going to prison coz she's a minor and that man is like 35 years old
@@darbvana9673 she is 17 born in 2004 they mention it many times in season one bro did you even read my comment? the whole point of the scene is that she’s lying and day drinking as a teenager and trying to fuck an adult as a teenager….if she’s a senior in college (which would make her 22) then why would she be getting in trouble for getting rides into the city to go to parties or asking her parents for rides, or constantly at her parents house hanging out or her boyfriend’s parents house
my theory is that the mossy tree is above an underground heat source of some kind, maybe a mining tunnel? If Javi made it to a miner's tunnel it would give him a shot at survival additional theory: Simone tragically dies, giving Tai full custody of Sammy and which also means the only other living person who knows about her shadow self is now gone. Tai is in deep, deep trouble
Are they ever going to find out Misty is the reason they are still there? What was the point in them showing her destroy that jet tech thing/ transmitter that helps them be found?
Yea maybe, maybe not. May just be a plot point telling the audience, no one is coming for a long time, but I do hope that comes back and it’s why they all find her so annoying still, other than her just being annoying, but at same time it’s literally her fault rescue took them soooo long so not sure how they can just forgive that if they knew
bro they dislike misty, not only because of her poison mushrooms on food, but because they will find out she destroy the tech that could have save them all earlier. remember they all liked her for saving them and guide them after plane crashes.
a redditor pointed out something i missed from the lotte/travis scene with laura lee. theres a quick flash of something else besides the baptism she sees. it looks like just a red screen but they paused it and screen shot it. it's actually a shot of what appears to be young Lotte with an extremely bloodied face. like she had been beaten to a pulp. when travis is talking about 'it' and how when van came close to death and then he says when YOU did. i assumed he meant the baptism but i'm starting to think something else happens to Lotte in the woods that puts her near death.
Considering how calculated Shauna is, and given the trend of characters as unreliable narrators, I can totally see Shauna lying in her journals. The mere existence of them is a liability, or maybe even fodder for a book- either way, she married Jackie's boyfriend and ate Jackie. I doubt she's going to be sloppy enough to lose Jeff on accident. Does he really know how Jackie actually died and STILL accompanies Shauna to dinner with Jackie's family?!?! Hell, she cheated on him and he still chooses to be complicit in covering up her murder. Just some food for thought (heh)
Like he said.... He wasn't there and they did what they had to in order to stay alive. If I were him I'd be more upset they put her out of the cabin which caused her death
@@CheenaBeanz if she lied in the journals she wouldn't have kept them in a safe or burned them so they would no longer be a liability. Whatever Jeff read actually happened
I read an article from the creators and this episode had a lot of aha moments. Tai being in a sleep state with the whole Sammy situation is also letting us know that she was definitely in a sleeping state and her alternate self when eating Jackie. I always assumed she wasn't exactly in a conscious state when dream walking, but the Simone situation proves she's just as able to function normally in her other state. They're going to wake up and she's going to not remember what she did. Had she been awake, I believe she'd have tried to reason with everyone.
i feel like we watched completely different shows :D I'm pretty sure Lottie only saw Laura Lee because she is still schizophrenic and hasn't taken her medicine while she was at Travis' Place (or maybe at all). She was definitely the one that lifted the crane and either she doesn't know anymore because of her schizophrenia or she didn't tell Natalie because duh. Also it feeds into her whole cult narrative. And by "she wants us to" Shauna meant Jackie as others have already pointed out.
Lottie is def lying about what happened. Anyone who saw the button wasn't working would have immediately run to hold Travis up by his legs so he wouldn't suffocate. There was ample time
Let’s discuss how young Callie is. Yeah, she’s prob got a fake ID to get in to the bar, she’s smart and devious like her mom, but the undercover cop knows her age….gross. He bought her a drink!
well he kind of had to in order to not blow his cover. i guess he could have been like 'you look too young to be in college,' but that would have been sus.
What if, say the undercover cop assumes she is of age considering she’s in a bar? He seems like a rookie being on the force only a year and ambitious to crack this murder case. He seems overly exited to tell his partner that he got info from the daughter of the suspects but even his partner told him to slow down and simmer. What if Callie will discover he’s a cop, try and hook up with him someway, and then blackmail him since she somehow will discover he’s only talking to her cus her parents are under investigation for Adams murder? You can tell she’s smart and very mature for her age. She’s divided with this whole situation but cares for her parents and has their backs (we saw that last episode). Just my theory ! I think that’d be pretty badass lol
The girl that adult Nat stabs in the first episode has another weird scene where she gives adult Lottie a coffee. That girl has to be important. She is either Shauna's child or Nat and Travis' child. She is someone that is going to matter.
i would have thought it would be lottie's kid considering she looks just like her...but shauna and jeff are white so it obviously not their kid, and nat would recognize her own child plus that girl is clearly asian and not half white half hispanic
it's javi guys. the actor is trans so clearly javi transitioned to be a female and lisa is javi. jk. almost anything is possible and i do believe lisa is important but it may just be to show case Lotties power dynamic w/ her cult.
Lottie is definitely lying. When Misty trapped Jessica Robert's, she told Misty "I know that Travis was murdered. You may not be sure, but I am.". She is using the leverage she has to try and escape and I don't think she had reason to lie at that point (her arms and legs were changed to the bed, she had nothing to lose at that point). Lottie told the atory convincingly but it doesn't add up
The theory of Taissa having DID doesn’t make any sense, and I surely hope that’s not what the writers are going for. DID is very specific in what ages it develops- specifically young children, around 4 to 9 years old. There is a lot of overlap between DID and CPTSD symptoms. CPTSD is a very broad topic, but I believe Taissa developed coping mechanisms as a late teen that seem to manifest whenever she is under extreme stress. These don’t always make sense in real life, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing how this show is tackling these subjects and handling them with so much care. Taissa’s fear and avoidance to this trauma are bound to spiral out of control within this season, and I’m really nervous about what will happen… :o
Maybe it could be DID since she had a traumatic experience when her grandma died essentially seeing her die and seeing that man who represents death. She was around 6, maybe she has always had this. Also a theory but I think her other personality, which obviously is dark came out when she broke her teammates leg
Using pronunciation issues as an excuse would work if this was a book or a novel but Taissa's name is clearly mentioned and spoken out loud many times, so...either you haven't seen the show or...there must be another explanation??
I agree with the Lottie narration to Nat. Is Lottie a reliable narrator here or is she hiding something from Nat. I obviously think more will come out about the Lottie/Travis thing given no one is really talking about S1, E10 ending "who the F is Lottie Matthews?" line in the context of Nat and her sponsor. Also, there was something sinister with (I think her name is) Lisa (fork in the eye from Nat) in this episode with the whole beverage exchange. She looked at Nat as if she knew something; it was more than fear of Nat. Finally, why isn't anyone saying that Nat has ulterior motives with the Javi search? With Javi "unalive," then Nat has Travis' full attention. There is something more sinister with Nat too given she wants Javi to be "gone" but Travis hasn't given up hope. My two cents. Great review!
nah i fully think nat thinks javi is dead...she's in the camp of not believing in spiritual shit so she'd be more likely to think he'd be dead cause it's gonna be for supernatural reasons he is alive...nat didn't want him to put all of his energy in finding someone that is dead when they could be looking for food to keep them all alive
No I don't think Nat is sinister I get that you could think that way but, Travis wasn't that distracted even when Javi was around He was still into and getting it on with Nat. I think she was genuinely scared of giving Travis false hope. The fact is they can't risk going further into the wilderness searching for Javi when the logical conclusion is that he wouldn't have made it so far on his own for 2 whole months without food and shelter.
I always think any rabbits that are brought up are another symbol of Shauna's obsession with Jackie. They are Jackie's fav animal. The collection of them is just another piece of trying to have Jackie's life. The murder of the rabbits in season 1 is her hatred/realization that that life is fucking terrible.
But the whole point of pica is that you have cravings to eat weird stuff? Like you do it consciously, Taissa’s sleep disorder cannot be explained through that.
I know this random, how come no one is mentioning how a much of a dbag Jackie is. Season 1 she wasn't a friend to Shauna. I know it's her own voice talking to her. I think Shauna actually liked Jackie but also feels guilty that she slept with Jeff. Im definitelynot a Shauna fan . But if they didn't get lost in woods Jackie and Shauna definitelywouldn't be friends. In a way i feel sad for Shauna because she really thoughtJackie was her girl. Smh..
I think the mysterious motel person is Jeff friend Randy, he knows about the blackmail, Shauna ran into him at the motel and Misty should be onto Jeff by now.
Heliptrope is toxic and can cause violet or blue tinted skin rashes. Maybe that has something to do with Lotties vision of Laura Lee and her turning violet blueish and part of why that is used to dye her cults clothes
Shauna didn't say the baby wanted them too eat Jackie, she said Jackie wants them too. Shauna isn't a bad person.. She's just really messed up. Remember each thing adds on to her hurt and guilt. We still don't know about the baby(I'm hoping it's stillborn} and how that may be the thing that pushes her over the edge.
it was officially confirmed (christina ricci asked the writers, she says this in her interview on the tonight show) but the baby won't be subjected to the, unfortunate eating habits, so i'm not sure what exactly happens to it but it at least won't be that
@Szabolcs Kővári it isn't a real baby, this is a TV show. A TV show where the mother of the baby is stranded in the wilderness, during winter, with cannibals. Knowing the potential scenarios of this TV SHOW, it's not crazy to say "I hope it's stillborn"
@@MattSwift1988 ty.. People take everything so literal these days. I'm not wishing I'll will on a baby, but pointing out there are already so many sub plots that the story will get overloaded... Ty
LOve this show, but no way in hell am I watching it week by week. Iwat to the end and binge. I'll come back to your video tho bro! Good on you guys for doing stuff that has wayyy less views then your main stuff.
FINALLY! At risk of sounding like a psycho, I've been waiting for cannibalism for 11 episodes. We all knew it was gonna happen. They should've done it 2 months earlier. What better way to help your fellow survivors? Your death saves lives. I only support it in dire survival situations, strictly. Love the theory about a hit to the head opening the 3rd eye. Now i imagine Lotties first welness retreat center. Its in a strip mall where she just hits people in the head witha a 2"x 4"
I remember reading a famous book about a boat being sunk by orcas near the gallapogos islands..a family and a deck hand..the psychology of them surviving adrift was interesting..the husband became almost aggressive at times at the crew member..family placed first..same thing with coach..now he has put himself on the outside his safety is screwed
In his drugged up mind Javi probably ran til he collapsed, then woke up in the morning lost and not sure how to get back to the cabin. Then he could have come across a well stocked fire lookout cabin that is unmanned for the winter.
I wonder what or if the writers of the show know to what extent your videos and insights that illunimante the multiple undercurrents of the narrative of the show and perhaps semi-spoil what will eventually play out in the series...? Regardless, we watch your predictions and recaps in order to satisfy our curiosity and obsessive need to know what is going to happen! Today, the norm is instant gratification, hence everything we require now! Funny, this is all imaginary, but with the current state of our mutual Planet and sadly common human strife, these creative forms of entertainment, provide us with much needed means of escape from so-called reality...
the Very beginning of the first episode hooked me to this show. Ever since then I’ve been wanting to know who the girl was but now it’s starting to feel kind of cheap. Why open up on that scene with that girl if the girl wasn’t even important enough to be in the first season. I mean I still want to know who the girl is but I think it would’ve been a lot more impactful if it was one of the main girls especially Jackie since they killed and ate her anyway
I think there is a magical forest entity, and that's what is keeping javi alive. The stump had no snow as if someone/something big and warm slept there. Lottie knew after reiking travis
I didnt read far enough into the comments to see if others have the same idea, but is the man in the motel awaiting FBI interrogation Randy? He said he was there because he is going through a divorce with his wife, but he knows at least about the blackmail and potentially much more through Jeff if he has been confiding in him as his best friend. It would also give Shauna the opportunity to follow through on her threat to him at the reunion
Why do I have the feeling the Taissa was hallucinating/in a dream state, that ENTIRE episode? Even when she was in the car with her wife! I don't think she was her real self that whole episode!
We still have no idea who put that symbol in random places and what it means we also don't know if Javi or Shauna baby is still alive we did see Ben watch terrified as they ate Jackie which makes me wonder if he will meet a similar fate we also don't know who pit girl is there's just so much unanswered questions still
2nd I think lottie is just cra cra and her hitting her head makes it worse. Are maybe cti. Her coming home last week her getting those shock treatments maybe put her brain " in the right place " .Now I might be the only one who doesn't want it to be super natural in this show because it's more shocking or scarier to know they are doing this knowingly.
Fun fact about Dionysus and his cult followers they consisted mostly of women and with some exceptions men could join the cult so also very much like the Yellowjackets here.
It looked like you had a picture for maynads from Hercules show, if so thats funny because when adult Lottie was younger she stared in several of those
I bet anything that Shaun'as daughter is the one that fell in the very beginning.. that would make sense why the heart necklace was there.. it would have been a gift from her mom.
Figured out the painting of Shawna that looks wacky okay you notice how there's one eye there? In the painting? Despite being from a well to do family, as a teen Lottie was boosting clothes and returning them for cash at TJ Maxx.😂 I’m not surprised she cleaned out Travis’ bank account. Also! Thanks for calling out Shauna. I loathe her. The actress is knocking it out of the park but Shauna is the absolute WORST, and I feel so sorry for Callie who as her child is compelled to try to make sense of that monster.
might not have been about the money, may be about those maxxinsta points, kidding. it's like when Wiona Ryder was caught stealing, she had all the money in the world. so it was probably about the thrill.

I thought it was Jackie she was talking about, too. Honestly, I often forget Wilderness Shauna is pregnant. She's always so fixated on Jackie, even after death. Anything to not think of the baby. That baby represents so much guilt and shame for her. I think Shauna's mental health is just gonna get worse as time goes on.
yep but I also think that Jackie would have wanted them survive....I dont think that she would have cared if they eat her, since she is dead anyway :D
I've been pretty sure for a while that the heart necklace is given to the one designated to be the sacrifice. There seems to be a whole ritual around the hunting and the hunted, including what the hunted wears. I mean, pit girl wasn't just wandering around in a nightgown when the others decided to hunt her.
That makes sense
Oh you made me think of something! Pit Girl from the beginning was also wearing a nightgown like Lottie was in Travis vision when he was making love to Nat. So is there going to be ritual thing? Or just a coincidence
exactly what i think too
maybe she was made to wear that necklace so that she could be the next jackie
Absolutely.
They will also take the mushrooms to be in a dream like state .
The thing that gets me about the wind scene at the end is that this scene is just for the audience, not the girls as they don't see what's happening, so gives us a sense of something else is going on and not the girls "delusion"
Let us know your thoughts on the episode below as well as your theories on what’s really happening
The "guy at the motel" is Randy right?
@@TangoNevada do you know if that movie is on any of the streaming services? Sounds interesting.
Thank you for addressing the "Taissa" mispronunciations. It was driving me crazy. Glad it got fixed! 👍
I’m 99% sure Javi is alive as I don’t see it being such a major plot point complete with Nats lie. I think they are charging towards whoever he’s with when it shows them all with weapons running
i agree but i don't think he makes it out of the woods...like why would javi not be there for his brother? he could tho because the writers did say they originally were gonna make adam javi but that the idea was short lived so maybe he is alive idk
great review! and breakdown its nice to actually hear things outside of just a summary of the episode. Love the theories.
Maybe Travis saying that "Nat was right" in her note was him trying to say "Javi DID die. But something worse came back wearing his skin" D:
Thank you thank you thank you for covering this absolute jewel of a show! ❤
I don’t think she was talking about her baby wanting to eat Jackie, she was saying Jackie’s spirit wanted them to.
Great points and made some of those scenes ( dressed in garb ) makes so much sense
4:49 all those spruce trees around and Travis is still post-holing?! Make some frickin snowshoes!
What happened to Jackies clothes?
I think the demon of the forest barbecued Jackie by smoldering(smoking) her body to feed them to keep them in the forest.
Coach Scott is next.
I really think that Callie is in danger
I think the necklace will be used to mark a sacrifice.
why is a 16yr old in a bar, and why is a cop buying her drinks in that bar?

I have a theory about Javi. I think since Misty found out coach was gay she is keeping him somewhere. She is all about control and wanting someone to love her. She knows how to drug people. That’s the only thing I can think of that would explain him being alive. Anything else wouldn’t make sense.
There could be others living in the woods...
Best part was when Skyler White broke bad again.
Coach is dead
It makes it SO MUCH BETTER that adult Shauna ate with Jackies parents on her birthday now knowing SHE ATE THEIR DAUGHTER 🤣👏🏽
This also makes the annual rabbit gifts more ironic.
That is twisted.
I felt for her parents
@@One_in_hundred same. I hope they never find out.
@Lamonte Johnson glad I am not the only one that can't get this out of their head!
i did not think all of them would turn cannibal- thought that would be what split them apart. coach is a goner.
Same
Coach is next on the menu
I thought Nat and a few others would have held out too. It was pretty shocking when they all dove in and feasted on roast Jackie!
bit of a weird theory, but I think the little brother is in that mossy tree. as things decompose they produce heat which is why its not covered in snow, the kids basically compost, and why Lottie thinks she can ''feel him'' with her taking on the role as nature's avatar/orical/shaman/thingy. there was also a lot of stuff in season 1 about them putting offerings inside that sacred tree stump like the bear heart.
Oooh interesting…
Love this theory!!
Great theory!
Yeah there is a good chance he was there. I'm working on a theory that he survived by staying in a cave in the mountains during the winter. And that tree was close to the mountains
The baby doesn't want them to eat Jackie
"It's ok. She wants us to."
She IS Jackie.
Remember what Lottie said when they'd captured stag Travis?
"It's ok. He wants us to."
To Shauna whilst she held a knife to his throat.
yeah plus the last scenes of her and dead ass jackie are Jackie literally saying 'it's ok, you're hungry.' aka giving her the all clear to keep snacking. i think a lot of people got confused because she grabs her belly right before she says that but it's only to signify the hunger.
Not only would it be a shocker and invite a bunch of crazy stuff stemming from however he survived but it’ll also push for everyone to believe in Lottie even more
i definitely agree...they better make that shit believable cause this 14 year old kid has been on his own for 2/3 months at this point
I think javi is Adam
Most reasonable explanation is Javi accidentally stumbled upon rescue months ago and is now either trying to find them or scared to try to find them because of the circumstances of him running away in the first place
yeah but how would he have stayed alive? only way how is when he maybe found that planewreck and stayed in there....but then still he doesnt have anything to eat... its impossible for him to be still alive unless there is something supernatural going on
Travis's note: "tell nat she was right"... could that indicate she was right about javi?
Probably the greatest character redemption of the episode is you pronouncing Taissa’s name right
One thing that shocked me was how they all decided to cremate Jackie right in front of the cabin.
Another thing that surprised me was that I thought there would be more people unwilling to partake in the "feast" (Natalie esp, idk)
It's obvious the coach is next. The season's trailer even had the girls carrying a tied up body on a stick.
Poor Coach! He doesn’t deserve that! Jackie didn’t neither. Her body should have had some dignity!
I would have preferred if they were entirely out of meat and only had broth for days and were harping on Travis and Nat to get a deer or bring back food.
same i didnt want to say it but it ended up being a factor- the smell of her body was a lot.
They've broken the seal of the #1 taboo.
It's gonna unravel from there. Not only did they eat her, they enjoyed it.
@@blackdandelion5549 yes! I had the same issue. The show didn't convincingly portray the level of hunger that they would have been feeling. Also no one struggled with the idea of eating Jackie? They all just sort of looked at each other waiting for permission, but there wasn't any internal moral conflict
i think everyone has forgotten that callie is 17 years old...she is in high school, they've talked about how she doesn't have much money in her college fund, she lives with her parents, still has to get rides places, and is in trouble for going to parties...callie is 17 in a bar, so she's obviously gonna pretend she's in college cause she's not gonna out herself to a grown adult she wants to make out with...that being said, if what you said happens that cop is going to prison coz she's a minor and that man is like 35 years old

my theory is that the mossy tree is above an underground heat source of some kind, maybe a mining tunnel? If Javi made it to a miner's tunnel it would give him a shot at survival
additional theory: Simone tragically dies, giving Tai full custody of Sammy and which also means the only other living person who knows about her shadow self is now gone. Tai is in deep, deep trouble
Are they ever going to find out Misty is the reason they are still there? What was the point in them showing her destroy that jet tech thing/ transmitter that helps them be found?
Yea maybe, maybe not. May just be a plot point telling the audience, no one is coming for a long time, but I do hope that comes back and it’s why they all find her so annoying still, other than her just being annoying, but at same time it’s literally her fault rescue took them soooo long so not sure how they can just forgive that if they knew
bro they dislike misty, not only because of her poison mushrooms on food, but because they will find out she destroy the tech that could have save them all earlier.
remember they all liked her for saving them and guide them after plane crashes.
i think she may confide in Crystal about it.
The point of showing it was to let the audience know
That doesn't mean the characters would find out, not unless Misty herself reveals it to someone
@@may.k_me But from a show perspective, it makes sense to have the other eventually find out because it would create drama and tension.
a redditor pointed out something i missed from the lotte/travis scene with laura lee. theres a quick flash of something else besides the baptism she sees. it looks like just a red screen but they paused it and screen shot it. it's actually a shot of what appears to be young Lotte with an extremely bloodied face. like she had been beaten to a pulp. when travis is talking about 'it' and how when van came close to death and then he says when YOU did. i assumed he meant the baptism but i'm starting to think something else happens to Lotte in the woods that puts her near death.
Can you post a link to the reddit with the screenshot?

Jeff has read Shauna's diaries, so that means he knows that they all ate Jackie
And the circumstances around it
That's pretty wild.
And he still loves her in spite of everything. He’s really grown on me as a character.

Sound good. Because I. Can't imagine Tassi going along especially how straight forward she Is. Wow. I can't wait for episode 3 after math
I feel bad for the coach witnessing that cannibal nonsense lmaooo 💀
i feel like we watched completely different shows :D I'm pretty sure Lottie only saw Laura Lee because she is still schizophrenic and hasn't taken her medicine while she was at Travis' Place (or maybe at all).
Lmao I would of ratted out my partner so quick, like you smashed man your just not telling me
well he kind of had to in order to not blow his cover. i guess he could have been like 'you look too young to be in college,' but that would have been sus.
and callie is 17.

Yes! They keep pushing her specifically. There is absolutely more to her character

Huh? Who is this imposter host? Where is that heavy British accent!? This had me more conflicted… harder to digest than, well, roasted human flesh.
Did anyone notice that Nat was wearing the purple color in the first episode while at the rehab center?
Yes
Using pronunciation issues as an excuse would work if this was a book or a novel but Taissa's name is clearly mentioned and spoken out loud many times, so...either you haven't seen the show or...there must be another explanation??
I believe he's just reading from a script. He may not have ever watched the show
I agree with the Lottie narration to Nat.
No I don't think Nat is sinister
I get that you could think that way but, Travis wasn't that distracted even when Javi was around
He was still into and getting it on with Nat.
This episode made me so uncomfortable 😳
I know this random, how come no one is mentioning how a much of a dbag Jackie is. Season 1 she wasn't a friend to Shauna. I know it's her own voice talking to her. But if they didn't get lost in woods Jackie and Shauna definitelywouldn't be friends. In a way i feel sad for Shauna because she really thoughtJackie was her girl. Smh..
And Jackie used her as an accessory or because she was under her you know
I think the mysterious motel person is Jeff friend Randy, he knows about the blackmail, Shauna ran into him at the motel and Misty should be onto Jeff by now.

They plan for 4 to 5 seasons. We can't get everything reveal at once you would stop watching we have real reason to believe the separate into clans
Are you talking about the girl in a white dress with Jackie's necklace killed from S01E01?
The new girls that weren’t there in S1 is kind of jarring because they were not there in the first season.
I think there is a magical forest entity, and that's what is keeping javi alive. The stump had no snow as if someone/something big and warm slept there. Lottie knew after reiking travis
Now I'm more convinced that Javi was actually the bear at that doomscoming thing
If I was the coach I would definitely be afraid after seeing that feeding frenzy. 🤮
He’s def next
yo where's Paul?
It was so gross to watch them eat her... like I wasn't ready for it even though i knew it was going to happen
Same
Why do I have the feeling the Taissa was hallucinating/in a dream state, that ENTIRE episode? Even when she was in the car with her wife! I don't think she was her real self that whole episode!
I think from the mirror moment.while drinking coffee helps exercise help eventually you will fall asleep
We still have no idea who put that symbol in random places and what it means we also don't know if Javi or Shauna baby is still alive we did see Ben watch terrified as they ate Jackie which makes me wonder if he will meet a similar fate we also don't know who pit girl is there's just so much unanswered questions still
Taos SA looks at the car before she runs into it, look closely
*Taissa
2nd I think lottie is just cra cra and her hitting her head makes it worse. Are maybe cti. Her coming home last week her getting those shock treatments maybe put her brain " in the right place " .Now I might be the only one who doesn't want it to be super natural in this show because it's more shocking or scarier to know they are doing this knowingly.
“CLIMBING” up the walls not creeping up the walls. Sweet Jesus it literally says it on the image you put up 🤦🏻♀️
Man there’s some real stretches here..
love this show. hope it’s a mix of witchcraft and situational
They were trapped in the wilderness for a year and a half. Shauna’s baby would still be a baby.
Figured out the painting of Shawna that looks wacky okay you notice how there's one eye there? In the painting? Go back to episode 1 the server of meat has one eye and that's the same eye as Shawna and the dark and I is also the same as Shawna. So the evil within is within animal fur serving everyone. With one eye
Like a Greek cyclops
Yikes how did Adam know that
@@itowilltube I see similarities to the artist from the movie heroes. Adam probably had the same site as Lottie You know the third eye thing I don't know I'm just reaching with this but if you watch again the person Shawna who serves me has one eye showing under her mask isn't it weird
It's not the baby who wants it. It's Jackie. That's evident with her trying to reason her eating Jackie in the shed as Jackie wanting her to eat her.
Guy at the motel is def Randy. He knows about the blackmail and we know he was living at the motel.
coach was real for not participating in that
Climbing up the wall, not creeping 😊
Am I crazy or does anyone else think Javi is Adam??
I have a crazy theory what if Javi is alive and he is working with Lottie behind the scenes in the cult. And wants revenge on Nat for Travis
Thanks for double-checking the character’s name. Appreciate it! :)
