- Electricity powers our homes, gives us light, and can even save a life, but when it comes in the form of lightning, it's best to not be close by. Sparks fly in the Lab as Jim Cantore takes an extensive look at the dangers of lightning in shocking augmented reality.

They need holograph systems that can be used in science classes
Kilroy was Here Yes that would be great but the only way to see it is using very expensive holo glasses because the producer can’t see it real time the animation is added in post production
This is actually augmented reality.
David Tierney correct
Kilroy was Here This isn’t a hologram smh
Whatever the technology behind it, I found it informative and quite cool to watch. Wish more "scientific" videos were done in similar fashion.
I’ve learned more watching 2 minutes of this then I learn in a 52 minute science class

So this time we have to be out side the circle hmmm
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
As long you are not As stupid like Thaddäus the chance will be slim to be attacked from the seabear. Dont worry
im glad he says male or female because i didnt think women could get struck by lightning
Obviously, lightning damaged my dishwasher a few days ago as well
@@kymberiy must suck to be that slow, oh nevermind you're a woman
@@kymberiy its ok.. nobody reads the comment section anyways
@@antimatter4733 oh shit another sexist guy
@@kymberiy oh shit, another dishwasher
2:33 "don't touch anything metal" "call 911"
B-bu... but my phone is metal what do I do
Get a steel phone then
Don’t worry your phone has a case over it so it is tase
These videos deserve a lot more views, if not that, more people should watch the weather channel. Awareness and perspective save lives!
Not really. You have to be a complete moron not to understand lighting is dangerous.
@@yul4206 no baby doesn't know
@@CreeperDaGuy it's not a baby to understand that its a parents job to look after.
@@yul4206 then someone who is locked away from world?
@@CreeperDaGuy what are you on about
I love the technology! That little crocodile walking across the golf course was adorable! This is a miniaturist's dream. 🙂
The Weather channel: where did our budget go?
The CGI guy: yes
this is good cgi better than cats the movie
It's actually IMR
2017:
2018:
2019: YUP TIME TO RECOMMEND
You mean 2020
No golf carts on the green.
Teufel Hunden yes that hurt my feelings
Excellent graphic presentation. One thing missing at the beach though - the guy standing at the edge of the water waving a 9’ or 10’
Why isn't there a gray circle on that table. You could easily survive a lightning storm with a grey circle
imagine getting hit by a lightning bolt in water and being paralyzed... retaining your conscious while drowning and not being able to do anything about it. scary.
This is really very good way to apply Augmented Reality. Very well and neatly done
Talking about poland, they have storms everyday
during the storm y don’t we just go out of the circle
At 1:55 did he just confirm the theory of cloning people?
It’s possible, but the government doesn’t let scientists do it because of the “unethical treatment of humans” 🥴🥴🥴🥴
Joe Marley probably does happen we just don’t know
me: "wait a minute, why is there an alligator on that golf course?"
Sounds like a title inside edition would use
I love this guy and all the AR educational vids
LOL, they had a golf course gator!!! ❤️🐊 ❤️Adorable!
Woe, it's not as sharp as it could be, but this is the first time I've seen a Weatherman have something like this.
something i learned a while ago is that, when ever there is a thunder strom, a car is most likely one of the safest places to be in
Love that huge gator lumbering across the green!
Fractal pattern, fascinating.
1:28 🎵and the flag was still there!🎵
The lightning bolt made a hole in one.
My paw paw always says “where there is thunder there is lighting”
Thunderstorms are dangerous
Ok the birds don’t need to squawk the whole time
So there's a safe circle and a danger circle
That background noise sounded like a tardis coming or going.
If something like a doorknob is hot or it has alot of electricity use your back of your hand so you can quickly move your hand away from the doorknob.
I got this on my recommended, video is currently at 570 likes, just waiting until it blows up
I came for a tiny golf cart and got weather science lessons.
What's the recommendation when watching TV or on computer. Someone told me that their TV blew up during a lightning strike iam kinda doubting that.
Fernando Salas That big antenna sticking up to pick up a radio signal, it picks up lighting too. Highest conductor on many unprotected buildings (which most homes tend to be). Conducts through the TV to the power line and down to earth. Yes, it will explode if struck. Tall trees and other tall structures around will offer some protection but discharging any local electrical field, but even then a direct strike is possible. Satellite dishes are lower risk due to their shape (less pointy bits to start a leader).
Andy Owens good to know 👍
He needs to stay away. He's within 10 miles from those lightning strikes. He's lucky he's alive
"don't touch any metal in that car and call 911" most phones are metal Lmao
So if its a storm and there is lighting wear a life jacket?
Is this the thunder snow guy?

“Don’t touch anything metal in the car” says grab phone
That advice was for idiots like you
this CGI is better then movies
I was hit in 2015 my left arm was tingling and I have some memory loss
I consider myself a man’s man but I’ve done that silly scared and fast little girly dash you do to run for cover at least a dozen times in my life when a thunderclap has made me near shit my pants.
👌
That fucking seagull
What if your in the car and the phone is made out of metal
@mike toni lol! that is funny!
What if you were never born?
The last thing he said was so evil but really true
People from the Midwest look at this and call it fiction
Dude, we have thunderstorms regularly here in the Midwest. I've had one strike about a thousand feet from me and shatter a tree.
Thunder shorts roars, change your drawers.

Who here before 50k views?
2:45 Assume every downed tree is *HOT*
Maybe a little bit of common sense is required here too.
*HOT*
@@HeenaPatel253 Thankyou! (Mummy thought I was nice, and you think I'm hot).
Looks as video and sees a croc in a field
🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊
Water and metal conduct electricity, imagine that. Who would of guessed.🤙
If lightning is 5× hotter than the sun, whenever lightning strikes why dosn't it just burn the planet instantly?
“Feat” “inches” “miles”
How about easy to use systems (metric system)
Where we don’t use random numbers
Can’t lightning go through things? Like cars for example? I dunno
When thunder roars go indoors.
Well lightning is the cause of thunder sooooo...
Please watch Living Waters on RUclips
If you see a downed power line, you can test it to see if it’s a live wire by pressing your tongue on it just as you’ve done testing a 9v battery before. It only works if you’re a Democrat though.
😂😂
No true
How do you so scary
1:31 what the hell is going on with that flag
This is unreal engine btw
