I'm still shook by how hardcore Merlwyb's lines are. Jean did an excellent performance.
Jean Gilpin as Merlwyb is my second favourite of the ARR VAs (my first favourite is Taliesin Jaffe as Thancred).

Don't worry about getting lost too much. When I was a new sprout starting in Ul'dah I almost had to quit the game because I couldn't finish a quest and therefore progress. I can't navigate for my dear life and I was stuck for an embarrassingly long time. After years and a few expansion launches later I'm still occasionally lost but enjoying all of it. It will get easier as you go, same with targeting as well as the other aspects of the game. Glad to see you've been enjoying it so far. FFXIV is quite a journey :)

A sherpa in vc could help with navigation frustration. Also I’d recommend a macro that just has /targetenemy. Slap that on “r3”, that’s pushing down and right stick like a button, makes it easier to target enemies.
I usually dont enjoy watching arr but hearing these characters come to life through va, hearing about the industry, and learning about language has been super entertaining!
I can’t wait to see more of these as you continue your journey
The most jarring part for me besides the return to the old voices is how slowly all the random npcs walk away in the cut scenes at each capitol

I like to think that from ARR to Endwalker took about three years, with Shadowbringers being the shortest length of all of them thanks entirely to the time differential between The Source and the Reflections being chaotic.

"Pray return to the Walking Sands" Most annoying phrase in game.
And Yeah... Amount of information and world building and some slower parts makes ARR quite challenging some times,but this pay greatly along the way.
