ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RUclips and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I feel like Danny Maude is one of the very few pros who actually want you to get better. Shawn Clement is another. Rather than put 1000 different thoughts in your head by showing numbers and percentages, he demonstrates in a very clear manner, what your body needs to be doing. The emphasis is always on motion and position rather than numbers and graphs and percentages. Thanks Danny.
Really appreciate the support Kevin
Danny is a genuine pro, he takes the time to reply to all viewers
@@gazstaf really do my best 🙏
I totally agree.
I don't have a lot of proof but I feel like Alex Elliot is another. Breaks things down to be simple and logical, helps you see what you should to do what he's saying without all the bells and whistles so to speak.
Beneath every 60-degree wedge, is a 2 iron.
😅
Me when I try to make it count 😂
hey your scaring us! 😅
@@archiewhite3😂
That's a fact 😂😂
Excellent tips Danny. Your clear and concise instructions are priceless! Thank you so much for helping golfers all around the world elevate their skill set and enjoy playing golf!!
This video right here transformed my game. The consistency I now have has made golf fun again. My pitching and chipping has saved me countless strokes. Thank you, thank you thank you.
So delighted for you Danny in reaching 900K subscribers. You absolutely SMASH every video you make. This one is pure GOLD. I will be heading to the practice area later to work on my bounce!! Thank you sooo much for all your generosity and wisdom every week.
Love to hear how you get on Patricia
Agree completely with the rave reviews you've gotten. After stumbling on your chipping video, there's nobody else I've watched that compares. Just what I needed with detailed explanations that make remembering easier when you understand the why.
Danny, congratulations on 900,000 subscribers. That is an awesome achievement. Your easy to understand teaching style and your enthusiasm comes through on every video. I am looking forward to chipping like you demonstrated later this morning.
Thanks so much Bill for supporting me for what it seems like years. Really do appreciate it
A masterclass, thank you. No less a golfer than Gary Player said that if he was playing with a 14 handicap golfer but he took all the shots from inside 100 yards, the handicap would drop to 3. You just showed why.
I agree. He was speaking of people like me.
Gary Player didn't ship very often off the green he would do a bump and run with a 5 iron, I believe. It's a fun fact I found out about a couple weeks ago when I watched a special on him.
How would he do with a 25 handicapper who usually plays like a 30-35?
@@johnnorth9514 my favourite type of golf 😊
My goal is to "think 2" inside 100 yards. When I am able to do this two things happen. 1. I put less pressure on my putting when I hit the green. 2. Be more aggressive with my chips. This is the key instructions for me to make #2 more consistent.
Started practising my chipping after a lesson last year with alot of hrs and 52 degree from all around the greens and distance control my short game has came on immensely few things I will take from this video an implement them into my game cheers again danny
Really well explained Danny - another great lesson. I really like the way you simplify things and break techniques down in manageable chunks ( no pun intended ).
I have been using the rhythm/tempo technique from your chipping video two weeks ago and it has really made a difference. Not only are the results better, but my playing partners compliment how smooth and effortless the shot looks. And it's all thanks to you.
That’s brilliant to hear David. Thanks for taking the time to share.
I think this is the best chipping lesson I have ever viewed. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Definitely going to rewatch the one from a couple of weeks ago and this one again. A real problem area for me. Absolute classic case of one shot falling short of the green and the next one skittering across the green and off the other side. Thank you.
Love to hear how you get on David
You know Danny. It's just nice to have someone like you to help us get better at this game called golf. It is much appreciated 🖐🖐
Danny, I lost the full use of one eye several years ago and have struggled with chipping ever since. Your visualization of keeping the club "under the breakfast table" has helped me immensely with striking the ball crisply again. It just seems easier to find the bottom of my arc. Thanks!
Danny, this is great. Lots of practice with this will make a massive difference im sure. Love your lesson plans and your teaching methods and manner. Phrases like, 'really simple' 'watch this' only coach I listen to and watch out of those available on the web. Thanks Danny.
Thanks for supporting the channel David
Excellent tips. I am still a 16 handicapper but have improved greatly over the last yr from tips from your videos. While I still struggle to find the center strikes on my full shots I’ve dropped many strokes per round by course management and my around the green chipping. Your videos are great for all ages and skill level because they’re so easy to understand
Great to hear! Thanks for taking the time to share
Love this! Using the stroke I have had two chip-in pars during my last 18 holes and have chipped in two more on the practice green. It's so easy and accurate!
Super Thanks coming your Way! Excellent Video's and you're the only guy I trust with my Golfing Tips!
Thank you so much for that. I play off 13.6 and have been down to 10 before WHI. This has always been the weakest part of my game and something I have had many lessons on. What you explained really clicked with me and have just played my best round of golf. Fully understanding the bounce and why it impacts has been so helpful. Thanks Danny.
Brilliant Nick well done 👍
Very clear, Danny. I’m struggling with all the problems you’ve highlighted so will give this a go. Great explanation of how to use the bounce
You can do it Stephen
Wow Danny, this is the best yet. You summarized all the things I do wrong that has lead to the chipping yips (I have been suffering for over 5 years). I am going to work on using the bounce correctly. Thanks for the best ever tips. Tee to green I am decent-probably a 7 handicap. pitching and chipping a 20. I can see where this is really going to help. Thanks again for being a Coach that dumbs it down so we can understand it.
Thanks for supporting the channel and feeding back Randy
Fantastic. Did this today and it worked like a charm! Thanks!
Hi Danny , thank you so much for the chipping refresher course ! With the help of your videos my life around the greens is so much easier. : )
Great to hear Eva, thanks for taking the time to share
Just superb instruction and advice. Danny should be voted #1 youtube instructor of the year! Thank you so much Danny for sharing your knowledge!
Really kind of you to feedback Kenneth
I'm a total beginner in golf. Danny's videos have helped me learn a lot with his tips! Thanks Danny.
Really happy to help Soong
This is by far the best explanation I have ever seen! Going to the driving range this morning and trying it. I’m a 7 HC. Thank you sir as always! (Chicago, IL)
Best of luck! Hope you had a great practice session
As always, pure class! Thanks Danny this has helped immensely :)
Thanks DM. Gr8 Chipping . My sister is taking up golf so naturally lve introduced her to your awesome tips and training drills. Bewdiful
That’s wonderful Joseph, if she had any questions please let her know just to ask
First video of this fellow I've watched but I was very impressed with how clear and distinct he was - giving a simple but effective idea such as "...like you're swinging under the breakfast table" is something that is easy to remember and a nice little mental container for me to carry the rest of the tips he gave. I rarely comment on anything but I really found this helpful.
Thank you 😁 appreciate you taking the time to do so 👍
This is such a good video to explain the use of the bounce I have been playing for a year and only now started to apply this !
Glad you enjoyed it Brian
Another great video Danny, thank you. This is the weakest part of my game, having a tendency to shank my chips, because I take the club back inwards too much. Us amateurs can save so many shots by getting this element of the game right. Please keep up the great content.
Love to hear how you get on David
Once again, great instructional video Danny! If you ever move to the States, I'll be first in line to sign up for a full set of lessons! 😎👍⛳
Another stellar lesson! Always look forward to your tips/lessons Danny!
Thanks again Ryan
Hi Danny, have taken your last three lessons with me on course with great success. I'm playing tomorrow so I'll adopt this weeks tips. I've been wanting the Callaway wedges for a long time but being a leftie they are hard to find. Take care and as always thank you Danny
All the best Matt
Great drill as always. A version of this drill I do most every day - "engaging" the bounce of the wedges around the yard. Even have some bare spots that one would call "ultra tight lies". Also your bonus #2 to use an iron instead of a wedge is one of my fave go to's. I tend to use the 8i as it closely mimics my friends' chippers at 36deg. Still the key is to not be afraid to figure out what is the best club - even if its not a flop shot wedge but maybe even a hybrid to bump and run the ball to the hole...
Thank you Willie 😁
Simple and easy. I enjoyed the lesson and could immediately implement some changes
Love your enthusiasm Danny. Your chipping, and you've worked up a bit of a puff. Gold 🥇 👍🤙⛳
Thank you 🙏
Danny, I’m back to the game after 30 years. I just want to say what great videos you do. Excellent work. Fantastic graphics, language and tempo. Thank you!
Thanks Matthew! Really appreciate the support 😁
An huge lesson; It works so well around the greens. Thank you very much Danny.
Thanks Geo 😁
Thanks for the great review. I continue to work on this.
Oh my gosh I can't wait to utilize some of your suggestions:-) you are a great teacher and your explanations are so easy to follow and make so much sense thank you my friend for putting these videos out here for guys like me who are novices but want to play better golf
Thanks Stephen happy to help 😁
Repetition is the key to learning - I keep coming back to this lesson. Thanks Danny!
Happy to help Peter 😁
What a great explanation of what the bounce is and using it. You're the best Danny.
Happy to help Chip
Thanks again Danny well explained and displayed, looking forward to trying this out. Your explanations are great for the basic golfer(which I am) to help them get better. Many thanks always good to listen to you. Why are not playing with the pro’s as you seem to have all the skills.
One of the best chipping videos that's helped me. Thanks!
This is really the best chipping drill. Brought my golf clubs during my recent trip to Vegas and followed your drill. It really made a huge difference!! Thank you so much!! Regards from Alberta, Canada. ❤
Pleasure, really hope it helps
Awesome video. Thank you so much for all of your advice/pro tips.
You are very welcome Brian
In 40 years of listening and reading how to do the chip/pitch shots, I’ve never seen such simplicity about the subject. Thank you, sir!
Thanks Dale appreciate the support 😁
I learned something on this one... Great detail. Can't wait for the snow to melt so I can use this info. Wish i had youtube and access to this when I started playing 35 years ago. Golf is one sport where learning the basics is key to low scores. Thanks Danny you are a great teacher.
Glad it was helpful Paul, season isn’t too far away
Clear and concise video on the mystical bounce that everyone knows about but few understand. Thanks Danny.
Hope it helps John
As always Danny breaks it down and explains the 'why' Truly a fantastic coach and brilliant at understanding human movement - at least in a golfing sense. Great job Danny!
I appreciate that! 🙏
Thanks Danny. Excited to use this next time to recover my short game from the trash. I learned how to play golf on a par 3 course and as a consequence got exceptional with my chipping. One day I went to a driving range that had rubber tees; hitting my short irons off the rubber tees. In one day my short game was destroyed. Would always top (thin) my chip shots. Extremely frustrating. No matter what I did to try and correct it-- nothing worked. I will let you know.
Loved this video, very helpful explanation of bounce and how to use (and misuse) it. It's also helpful to understand why good players set up with their feet so close together (I never did, until TODAY). Thanks Danny, your videos are fantastic!
Thank you Drew 😁
Great video Danny. I have been practicing this method and it makes chipping so much easier. I will definitely be using this method all the time it’s the secret to chipping thanks for your help Danny 😊
Thanks David happy to help 😁
Great video as always, Danny! After my 33-year hiatus from golf, something really important that I've found, after getting back into golf this January, is conditions. It would have been great to have added in just how much the ground conditions affect your ability to use that bounce. Only now that it's drying up can I really use that bounce, but it's been a real learning curve up until now to work that out, because no matter what I was doing, it was digging into that soggy winter turf!
Absolutely, if it’s digging in then remember it’s the leading edge that’s doing it. Start to exaggerate what I’m doing here if needed and let me know how you get on
Danny Maude is just the best golf instructor on the internet. Great instruction and always makes me want to practice and improve. Thank you so much.
Very kind thank you Paul 👍
This was a VERY helpful video! Excellent instruction in a clear, concise, and easy to understand presentation. THANK YOU!
Thanks David 😁
Masterful! Thank you for sharing this vital information 🤓
You are a genius in explaining the relationship between “how” and “why”. The “why” helps me remember the “how’. Example from driver’s ed from 45 years ago that still sticks: accelerate when you change lanes because the distance traveled at an angle to maintain forward position is longer.
Really appreciate that Olga
This is incredibly helpful, Danny. Thank you for the amazing and helpful videos!
Thanks Johnny 😁
Excellent video. Reinforces so much of what I've been working on. In fact, after much trial and error, I have settled on my 50 degree and 9-iron as my standard chipping irons. But what I've also practiced and learned -- maybe you could address this in a future video -- is not making the hole my target but some point between me and the hole. Choosing a spot 1/3 of the way to the hole for fast greens and longer chips with the 9-iron, for example, or half way to the hole with the 50 degree for shorter chips on level or downhill shots, for example. I don't always get the intended result but my success rate is higher than focusing on the hole.
Sounds like a great strategy David
Man, this is awesome Danny. I've been working on my short game for the past two years and just go so out of sync with everything that I lost my feel. I'm a low handicapper and I've got decent hands and I've gone from Phil's hinge and hold, to Siekman's outside in, etc. and while some have been great at times, they have so many moving parts; they just break down when one part is out of sync. Had a caddy name Lewis Mainwaring at Porthcrawl over the summer and he went through this technique with me when he saw me struggling. As much as I want to use my hands, this method has the highest percentage of success with little hands and just letting the bounce and loft work. It's fantastic. I just chipped in for a big skin on Sunday using it! What I also like is that getting the heel off the ground reduces the amount of club that needs to get through the turf making it glide better. Honestly I was hoping to run into the person who knew this technique and today was the day! So thanks!
Fantastic lesson Danny!I have been struggling with shanking my lob wedge around the green!II took this lesson up to the practice area here in not so sunny Spain .Hit 60 ,never shanked one. Many thanks Danny, you are a marvel.
Amazing to hear Dougie well done
I can’t wait to get out to the practice range with these tips…. Every thing I do wrong with chipping is right here, thanks Daniel…. I’ll let you know
Hi Danny, thank you for all your great videos that I find all very helpful.
I would have the following questions to this one:
1. do you adjust your aiming to reflect the changed lie of the club?
2. If standing on a upward slope as in your video, do you need to adjust your setup and maintain the bounce with regard to the slope rather than to the horizontal plane?
3. How does the advice regarding the movement and the end position of the shaft fits to the other advice you gave in another video of yours explaining that the shaft end should be moving along an "L" curve? Thank you from the Czech Republic!
Hi Danny, this is by far the best explanation regarding bounce factor and use it to your advantage I have seen on RUclips. Thank you, just subscribed. 👍😎🇦🇺
Thanks Marcus!
I’ll be taking those tips out on the course next week. Think this is main reason for m leaving loads of shots out there. Great explanation. Cheers Danny
Love to hear how you get on Rob
Thanks Danny, really appreciate this video!
Love you work mate. To be honest I’ve been struggling with that part of my game for a while. I will definitely be using your tips at my round tomorrow . Cheers mate
Love to hear how you get on Mark
Thanks I just love the way you teach I use your tips every week thanks again 👍🏼💯
You are so welcome Jeff
playing my second round in nearly 20yrs tomorrow. will be trying some of this for sure
Your lessons are amazing! I wish there was enough time in the day/week/year to practice them all!!
Just focus on one at a time and you will begin to see some serious progress
One of the best chipping videos I've seen 👍🏼👏🏼 thank you

Great lesson Danny, and your other chipping video with Pete Cowen are absolute gold
Glad you enjoyed them David
Thank you Danny. One of your very best, if not THE best.
Glad you enjoyed it David 🙏
Great video, love your enthusiasm and knowledge of the game
Much appreciated Jack
I've chipped old school for many years,hands forward,shaft lean.Will try this.Great video.
What a great video Danny. I'm going to sort my chipping out this season for sure. Its been holding me back my whole golfing career. I'm going out every night with your last two chipping video's as soon as the days pull out until i nail it. Thanks as always and have a great weekend
Planning on creating a full series to cover all the shots
@@DanielMaude brilliant, can't wait
This videos have helped me so much, it is soo easy explained. Thank you Danny!
Thank you PLou!
This has really helped me massively. Played this morning and employed these tips. Didn’t blade or duff one chip shot with my 64 or 60 degree wedges. Oh and I broke my personal best on my local course. Fantastic
Amazing to hear Jim, well done
finally someone who actually explains what bounce is. almost every youtube video I see, they just say "its the bottom on the wedge" which doesn't help me understand anything. this guy actually explains and shows you. subbed
Welcome to the channel Khoi
Thanks Danny. That info on the bounce was very helpful. Now to practice it!
Thank you Brian 😁
Best teaching ever! Thanks Danny. Awesome, you cracked 900K! Congrats 🎉
Thanks Rick, it’s been an awesome journey so far
Thank you sir. This is very detailed yet simple chipping instructions. Yes some things the coaches arent saying. Been playing for over 20 years. 8 handicap in my earlier years. Been having chipping YIPS the past 3 years.
Thank you Rey 😁
Thanks for explaining how to use the leading edge properly.
I really, really like your style of teaching..and you have just enough accent to make it sound even more special..;))))
Thank you Danny great teaching great visual aids.
Pleasure Stephen
Love feeling the bounce when you throw the club head into the ground under the ball👍
Danny .. I am always trying to break 100, and I know that chipping is where I need to improve the most. I'm so thankful for this wonderful video and I trust your knowledge. Sir, I wish you the very best always, and you can be assured that you provide hope to us struggling amateurs :)
You got this! 🙏
Another superb video lesson Danny. ⛳️. Thank you.
Thank you Dan!
Brilliant professional , learning so much from your videos and your teaching style
Thank you 😁
Danny, great video. Starting to understand bounce on my wedges. A couple of questions: Elbow position and swing path. Really enjoy the videos with your Dad. Wish you would do a chipping lesson with your Dad?? A lot of us have mobility problems so your lessons with your Dad really help me.
Elbow position stay close to your side on these
thank you for bonus tip 2 Danny it stopped me asking about chipping with irons rather than wedges.
Great content
No problem Gary, happy to help
Great information and explanation of the swing…much appreciated!!!
Really hope it helps Shawn
I like the way you explained the bounce and how to use it. First time it’s made sense.
Really happy to help George
Tried it out today it works. Just need to practice more to get it down.
great tips and yes it has improved my short game - thank you
No problem Adrian 😁
Absolutely insightful!!! Thanks
Very well explained Danny, just what I need at the moment.
