    There’s like 10-15 people out of the 225,000 of you that aren’t going to like this video. Lol I’ve been using these for decades, and our NYE firework display where I used like 60 of these racks nothing went wrong

      Question with my hdpe mortar racks. I’ve had them for 3 years now and they seem to be getting tight at the bottom is that normal ? Bigger canister shells aren’t going down smoothly

      @@Pyro_783 it could be warping from the heat exposure over time. This can happen, to avoid it make sure not to load a ton of shells into just one of the tubes in the rack. Try dispersing them among the whole rack

    I've never seen a blowout, but I always cinch a 2" cargo strap around the outside to minimize that possibility. If you were really concerned, you could cut some plywood panels to line the crate at the expense of a couple of tubes.

    I always recommended if your going to make a milk create rack use a ratchet strap around it just for an extra precaution.

    I've noticed a lot more fiberglass tubes over cardboard and it's nice, like even the small ball kits we got this year had them so we saved those too this time, got all kinds of sizes lol

    I had some barely legal and exterminator shell kits and decided to try this out, got tired of shooting them off one at a time. Gotta say I’m pretty impressed with the outcome, got an 8 tube rack now and can’t wait to test it out! Thanks for the tips!! 🔥

    With one foot step on the base, and with your other foot push on the top of the tube. It’ll always pop off the base cleanly.

    Cody I do the same as you except I add a 12"x12" piece of 1/2" or 3/4" plywood to the inside bottom of the milk crate, if you are on grass or slightly unlevel surface the tubes will bounce out when they fire. With the plywood in the bottom I've never had this happen. 👍👍 P.S. when you get to 1 million subs I will help you get canister shells.

    I usually just run them over a table saw and take about an inch off of two opposing edges, then build them into a wooden rack. Smacking off the base can mess with the integrity of the plug and milk crates sometimes cause mortars to 'trampoline'. I'm with you though...... if its for free..... it's for me

    The one thing I did find when using the poly tubes is tubes jumping out and causing tubes to tip. I even had 25 tubes in the crate and felt good and tight.

    No stores had any free crates, but I found ones for $7 at a store. Not bad. And while out at the store, my shipment of HDPE tubes came in. Perfect timing.

    Thanks for posting this. A rubber mallet worked better for me. Also removing the wrapper helps with see the plug is falling out or breaking down inside the tube...I also made the mistake of not putting on gloves. My hands were super itchy from the fiberglass.

    Yes I made 2 year's ago and after the show found tubs every I was short 2 tubs but I didn't see the milk crate had a crack on the bottom corner so I got a new one work's just fine and i put 1/2 plywood at the bottom

    How many shots do you think you're getting, before the concrete plug blows right out of the bottom of the tube? With no base to hold that plug in, I'm guessing 2 shots?

      We have done over 20 shells in tubes like this. We have never had an issue

    Cody i have a 30 shot fan rack that i made with the HDPE tubes about 6 years ago and only use it twice a year. I cleaned out the garage and forgot that rack outside but brought the other ones back in. It had a couple inches of rain water in the bottom. Do you think the water would rot the plug or cause the plug to blow out next time i use it??

    It be nice if the 500 NOAB cakes were made with 1.75 fiberglass tube that could be reused, if they were built well they could be reload as rack.

    I just wanna know how long a tube is sopposed to last. I got some odd ball "mini shells" last year but the tubes broke .
    So i may have to look into getting some kind of rack. There about half the size of regular ball shells so no tube ive got would work.

    i just bought some fireworks from Phantom this past 4th of July. I did notice the tubes that came with the Excalibur (the black ones with thicker bases) are a different length and diameter than the ones i bought that were "Lock and Load" and "Barely Legal" mortars. i tried shooting one of the Lock and loads out of the excalibur tube and it didn't go as high in the air. I am sure certain mortars work best with certain tubes correct?

    Cody, I'm having trouble finding some good rockets in the consumer market. Heck even in the 1.3g class B market (waiting on my license to show up in the mail).     My local drive thru has 15 dozen out back but he won't give me any, says the company will come by to pick them milk crates up but week after week they pile up so im like wtf , give me a few

      Try going to your local grocery store, often times they don’t care because the milk company doesn’t come back for all of them. Also, hotels that serve breakfast (including milk) usually have a bunch to give away too

    I’ve blown up my fair share of mortars but I can say at least 2 of them complete detonated in the tube itself. The whole tube completely broke. I believe one was a mortar and the other was an artillery shell. Definitely can happen so I’d be careful using the crate. Stay safe

      There are plenty of fireworks! That's totally up to you. Bought mine just in case and most of the stuff was reasonably priced. Mortar shells are super expensive this year tho. Found Excaliburs for 170 near me. I live in Omaha Nebraska if that helps
