Saw them play in Rochester MN in the winter. After they came to one of the local bars and hung out. After the bar closed they went outside and played football in the parking lot in the snow. They were kind to everyone. They were down to earth and fun to be around, laughing and joking. They made it a night to always remember.
September 8, 2017, Troy Gentry took a helicopter ride before his and Montgomery’s show that night. Pilot error was the blame for the crash and both the pilot and Troy were killed.
I remember Troy Gentry tragically passed away the same day the legend Don Williams passed away, a few years ago. Another weird coincidence for me was that I had looked up what Don Williams looked like only a few weeks before it happened, because I had only seen videos of him in the 1980's, and he was somewhat old then. So I was curious if he was still alive, and what he would even look like, some 35 years later. Was surprised to see that he had a white beard and long hair. I wouldn't have recognized him if I didn't know it was him.
RIP Mr. Gentry. You are missed by millions. This is my life as a simple ol country boy. Still miss my ol Nova SS .. Now i'm running a F-550 power diesel. Still sit ya back in the seat; just a whole different feel of power.
You cant ever go wrong with Montgomery Gentry. Love love love them! Their Christmas song is a real hoot (sorry I can't remember the name). It may be called Merry Christmas from the Family. Its hilarious!
Montgomery Songs I recommend: "Hell Yeah," "Our Town," "Daddy Won't Sell the Farm," "Didn't I," "Speed," "Merry Christmas From the Family," "Gone," "What Do Ya Think About That," and "Where I Come From"
Have you ever watched this video clip of Heather Whitestone dance to the song “Via Dolorosa” during the 1995 Miss America Pageant? By the way, Heather Whitestone is deaf, but she did a very beautiful job in her dance. AND GUESS who WON to be Miss America 1995😊?
Singing lead on this one is Eddie Montgomery. His brother is also a country star, John Michael Montgomery. He has a heart wrenching song called 'The Little Girl' & a fun one 'Sold at the Grundy county Auction'. You will enjoy his stuff too. Montgomery Gentry has some great songs as well, as you can see. Tragically Troy Gentry was killed in 2017 in a helicopter crash, on the way to a concert. Those two were making hits from 1999-2012. A couple other songs, "Back when I knew it all' & 'My Town' are some great tunes also. Sad end to a great duo.
Gone is one of my favorites for the simple fact that my son loved it when he was little. He would tell me to turn it up and he would sing bang bang right along with them. Brings a smile to my face every time I hear it. My son is 19 now. It’s the little things I guess.
Troy Gentry tragically died in a helicopter crash in 2017. Eddie Montgomery (guy with the hat) is the younger brother of country music star John Michael Montgomery.
I'm so glad you did this! My son's been their sound engineer since before Troy tragically died in the helicopter crash. Troy & my son used to ride their Harleys together! He loves these guys & misses Troy! Eddie & Troy weren't only great singing partners, they'd been best friends forever! Eddie (Montgomery) has a great new album out!😊
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but, Eddie Montgomery, his brother is also a singer, John Michael Montgomery, definitely check him out if you haven't 😉
Wow, Craig, I haven't heard this duet in a minute! As soon as I saw who you were reacting to, I was happy. Listened to their music a lot in years past and loved them. Thanks for the memories!
I love the excitement that crosses your face when you realize you’ve just discovered a new song you love. Thanks for taking us with you on your journey. Also, check out Speed, Hell Yeah, and She Couldn’t Change Me by them. They actually have a bunch of great songs.
Yeah, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. A good Country act! Eddie Montgomery is the brother to John Michael Montgomery who is also a Country singer. You might want to try John Michael Montgomery's song "Sold (the Grundy County Auction)". It's a fast-paced fun song. Thank you for the reaction.

Wow, haven't heard them, in ages---I forgot how much I like them!! I always forget which one's which; but, the one in the black hat's voice reminds me of Blake Shelton!! "Hell Yeah", is a good one, by them!!
The one in the Black Hat is Eddie Montgomery(Brother of John Michael Montgomery) and the one with the guitar is the late Troy Gentry. If you haven't heard "Titties Beer" by them and you want a good laugh, give it a watch.
Yeah Montgomery gentry is one hell of a country duo they had a lot big-time country music songs early 2000s A few song recommendations from me from their great catalog of songs would be hillbilly shoes daddy won’t sell the farm well as songs of hell yeah lol ain’t gone lucky man speed in my all-time favorite one from there which is my town
Nice reaction, the pleasure was evident all over your face, so glad you enjoyed it! Montgomery Gentry have several really good hits, I look forward to more reactions to them. 😀
Sorry but I was a huge fan of theirs until Troy shot and killed that captive tame bear just so he could have a "trophy". I know you all will say he felt really bad about that, but he didn't apologize for how he killed it until the video of him killing the bear came out, and he was convicted of a felony. I'm not against hunting. That was NOT hunting.
I always loved these guys, I glad we still have Eddie, but I still miss Troy, I still can't believe he's not here. RIP Troy Gentry, I hope you earned your wings.
Thank you for your service Troy (RIP)

The three of them were in a band together before John Michael broke out on his own.

Is Country Music not the best genre to tell stories and teach lessons?
My favorite MG song is hands down Tattoos and Scars. I think you'd really like that one.
