Christopher Lee LeDoux (October 2, 1948 - March 9, 2005) was an American country music singer-songwriter, bronze sculptor, and hall of fame rodeo champion. During his career, LeDoux recorded 36 albums (many self-released), which have sold more than six million units in the United States as of January 2007. He was awarded two gold and one platinum album certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), was nominated for a Grammy Award, and was honored with the Academy of Country Music Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award. He is and will be the GOAT for a long time. I think he's in his 70's now and not long ago filled the Texas A&M stadium with 110,000 plus fans breaking the all time attendance record for a concert.
The legend of George Strait: He and his band were playing bars and trying to break through when Eddie Rabbitt had to cancel his appearance at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at the last minute. The staff scrambled to find a replacement. Somebody thought of George (probably because he was near at hand) and they called him, but he was out looking for his lost dog. 1983. No cell phones. He called back and agreed to perform, asking the date and time. They pretty much told him, 'now'. He flew in within an hour of the time and when he finished the set, he was already King George, mounting a horse from the stage and riding the entire circuit of the Astrodome Arena. I remember it well. George never changed. Starched shirt, jeans, hat, and boots. Born in Poteet, Texas, south of San Antonio and growing up working on the family ranch. Still ranching. Still George. Still the King.

No one bothered him, he is TX royalty. But there is nothing like holding a gal and dancing real close to some of King George's songs. This was awesome, you had to be there.
King George! A true to life cowboy! He still operates and lives on an actual ranch! Married to his childhood sweetheart! A real man in every sense of the word! Love our Texas legend!
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (where this video was filmed), also known as "The Greatest Show on Dirt," has not only provided first-class rodeos and concert entertainment for decades but has also given away over $600 million to the youth of Texas and education since 1932. The HLSR is something everyone should experience at least once. There are other huge rodeos around the world, but I grew up in the Houston area, so it's near and dear to my heart. I've seen King George there numerous times.
Had the wonderful experience of seeing George at the Astrodome years back for the Livestock Show. The Astrodome is no longer the venue, NRG Stadium now, and it's not quite the same. Prices are higher and harder to get. But in the 90's it was the event of the year to wait for the list of acts to be released and pick your must-haves. And the kids looked forward to spending the day at the livestock show and the fair, seeing the animals, eating the food. Great memories.
I competed in the Barrel Racing twice when the HLSR was in the old Astrodome. One of the best parts was being able to see all the great performers that played there, George included.
As a high school student near Houston in the '80, my art teacher entered some of my artwork in the art show at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I won a couple of awards. It's more than just cowboys and Livestock. It's food, art, music... just about every kind of contest.

Listen to anything and everything by George Strait! Not even kidding, in country music we call him King George. His first ever song released is the only one that did not go number one... And it went number two without anyone knowing who he was
I love George Strait. Saw him a few years ago. My boss got my husband and I front row seats. He saw me trying to get his picture, stopped in the middle of the song and posed for my picture, with that great smile. So kind, and I love his smooth voice. Half my family ride bulls and bucking horses. Mama was a barrel racer back in the day. There's still nothing quite like a rodeo, family still rides today. It's in their blood. They learn to walk and ride, around the same age.
"Unwound", "Fool Hearted Memory", "You Look so Good in Love"...my personal fave is "All My Ex's Live in Texas"...he has many more!! As far as rodeo goes, it's still pretty popular here in North Dakota with i believe the Badlands Cricut...there's a movie called 8 Seconds, about a bull rider named Lane Frost who died riding bulls. great reaction P! 40!
OML, there are so many songs by George Strait to even begin to name them. Ocean Front Property, Baby your Baby, Write this down, I can still make Cheyenne, Check yes or no, Carrying your Love with me, The cowboy rides away, I cross my Heart, ETC. He's made movies: Pure Country. He's a Legend in Country Music. At 78 he'll still do an occasional concert. He lives on his ranch in Texas with his wife. They've been married 53 years!
There is a movie about Lane Frost a bull rider is '8 Seconds' , love George Strait, is probably not an actor but I thoroughly enjoy the movie ,Pure Country.

Was fortunate to see Mr. Strait at his Kyle Field stadium performance this past summer. A record in attendance as the largest in North America. This true artiat rolled on with hit after hit and naught but 15 seconds between each hit after hit. Cross my heart, Adalita, etc. You can't miss with any George Straight song!
George Strait is also a calf roper. He’s what’s known as a heeler. He ropes the heels of the calf as his partner ropes the head aka the header. Rodeos are still king. Along with football.
We (Amarillo) have our tri-state fair and we also have many championship rodeos that are held at our fair grounds, as well. Along with the American Quarter Horse international headquarters, I used to work there and the fair grounds is just around the corner. Born and raised here in Amarillo😊
60 number one hits. More than anyone in any form of music. Grew up on a ranch, got an ag degree and was going to run the family ranch but was discovered singing in a regional club. Has also, actually participated in rodeo. George was actually a real cowboy.
Live here in San Antonio and the Rodeo is huge here. The San Antonio Spurs take a whole week on the road called "Rodeo Road Trip" in February, so the San Antonio Rodeo takes over the Frost Bank Center and the Joe Freeman Colosseum. The Houston Rodeo is even bigger and all across the state there are still county fairs where the Rodeo is the main event. Don't know if you know, but George Strait even had his own Rodeo near Boerne, TX and participated doing Team Roping. He has his own working ranch near Encinal, TX and has always performed at the Rodeo since 1982.

You beat me to it … I was just gonna say that same thing
My mom passed when I was 18, and about 10 years later when I was getting married I danced to this song with my grandmother. It’s really quite beautiful.
George Strait starred in a few movies too. Pure Country was my and my hubbies favorite.
Lol...a movie of the week style quality.
Listen to anything and everything by George Strait! Not even kidding, in country music we call him King George. His first ever song released is the only one that did not go number one... And it went number two without anyone knowing who he was
King George ❤
He’s got so many hits he’s my favorite country singer
His "Baby Blue" and "Marina Del Rey" are also great. He has so many good songs.
King of Country music.
George Strait is Pure Country
Such a great dance song. I saw George in Brownwood, TX BEFORE he was famous outside of Texas.
George Strait is such a class act and so talented! Amazing performer !!
Legend♥️🔥✌️
George strait cross my heart is such a beautiful song
Fell in love with George Strait's voice and story telling lyrics, then he went and acted in a movie... (Pure Country)
One of the top 5 country music songs of all time. There's a reason he's called The King
Winners at the big rodeos can with $100,000 in a week.
Great song hope you enjoy it❤❤❤❤❤❤
OML, there are so many songs by George Strait to even begin to name them.

It's about a man just following his passion, I saw him at Billy Bob's in 1982/83 no one in my opinion does it like King George
I love the older country singers, check out Marty Robbins and Don Williams, 2 of my favorites.
The King of Country. I like how this song brings some airs of melancholy like hearing it on a lonely highway from AM radio.
Like a Cowboy lullaby
Congratulations on the discovery of this American treasure. He is a western legend. Please check out "Cheyenne".
This is so Iconic - and being from Amarillo, TX this was played everywhere - rodeos are huge in Amarillo
The Chair
Or
You look so good in love
Lots of hits
