  • Welcome to my channel, this is floss tube number 3.
    This month kept me pretty busy with work, which did not allow a lot of time for stitching. Regardless, I managed to start three new WIPs this month!

    Tiny stitching - if you wear glasses, try "Magni-Clips", if you do not wear glasses, try readers for magnification 🙂

    Hi, Yoshi. Love your videos and yes your puppy. I too am a huge fan of the British Royals. I live in Canada and of course we are part of the Commonwealth which I love. I would love to find and stitch Anne Boleyn, Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots. Can’t wait to see your king pieces. And Kate Middleton. Happy stitching💕💕👍👍👍

      I have a picture of Queen Victoria and Queen Anne that I am planning to get charted one day. It's very similar to the ones that I showed of the kings.
      A cheap way to get a pattern produced is to submit an image to thread bare. It'll cost about $10 if you go that route.

    You just started the dragon piece! If you have enough fabric, pick out the stitches you did then stitch 2 over 2. Don't strain your eyes!

    • @TheCrossStitchGuy

      The fabric is just a little small for the project size to do 2 over 2. We are literally talking about 2 inches here.

    If you use reading glasses already, then for stitching use ones that are a little stronger. That has worked wonders for me. I also added a little light that clips on my stitching frame, or one that loops around my neck and can be pointed directly where I"m stitching. That's especially helpful for stitching light colors on a light fabric. Thanks for sharing your stitching journey with us!

    • @TheCrossStitchGuy

    Hello! I’m excited to see your progress on these wonderful projects. You might enjoy 2 over 1 tent/half stitch on your 28ct. Several Flosstubers and the Facebook group Full Coverage Fanatics have used it successfully. Meanwhile, take care of your eyes with good lighting and possibly magnification. The eye strain and headaches will shorten your precious stitching time!

  • @Lakhana626
    @Lakhana626 5 месяцев назад +1

    I advise do a restart on the dragon with a lower fabric count. You don’t want a love/hate relationship with your WIP. You want to be able to get excited and not dread because of the fabric count. So yeah, redo on a lower fabric count 😊

    • @TheCrossStitchGuy
      @TheCrossStitchGuy  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the advice! Before I restart the piece I'm trying to find out if the floss and fabric colour is the issue or is it the 1 over 1.

    Another great update. I use a lighted magnifying lamp when I stitch, it helps a lot. Dogs/cats/kids just want to be involved, too. My cats almost always join me in some fashion when I zoom stitch with friends. Collecting projects is part of the hobby and means you have something new to stitch when needed.

    Hi Yoshi! It’s so nice to meet you. I found you from the might watch lists. I watched all 3 of your episodes. Your work is inspiring. I have not done any full coverage pieces yet. Right now I am down the rabbit hole of samplers. I have been cross stitching since the seventies. I love your dogs, the black lab is dear to my heart and the chihuahua is the cutest. The other, Emily? Looks like a rottie. So beautiful. As for your eyes, you should magnify the stitches. So either get yourself a lamp with a magnifier, or if you want to go cheaper buy some cheaters glasses. You can start with 1.25 or 1.5. I have gotten mine from Michaels, Joann’s, Amazon. I usually spend no more than $4. Just don’t go to a drugstore. Anyway love your work and welcome to the club of having a bazillion wips! 😂

    Hi Yoshi, I found the you via Andrew and I am a fellow flosstuber. I have also just the first Mira Sal with dress maker’s daughter although slow progress at the moment but I am going to turn it into a seasonal stitch. How much white is in the 28 count project? If there is a lot you could swap to a cream/Ivory 28 count Brittany evenweave by Zweigart or a Patel colour. I hear that good lighting and magnification works too but also my eyes have also adjusted over time to smaller counts. Have you watched the Crown? I’m not a big full coverage stitcher but look forward to seeing your progress. Nat
