Welcome back to complaining about Jump Force. In this video I see if Fortnite and its anime skins and items make for a better anime crossover experience than Jump Force. I hope you enjoy.

Now, I do not respect Jump Force overall, but I will defend its DBZ roster:
Trunks, while not super prominent in the main story, is widely beloved in the fan base, and very prominent in the Xenoverse games (the second of which is still occasionally getting new content, so his inclusion might’ve also been for cross-promotion purposes). He also has a fairly unique fighting style for a DBZ character, being one of the relatively few who uses a sword.
Buu was the final villain of the Z era, and even had a redemption becoming friends with the heroes, so including him also makes some sense (even if rarely does anything anymore).
Bulma and Gohan are both very iconic and important characters, but Bulma’s a non-combatant whose only playable role in a Dragon Ball fighting game was for the live action movie’s tie-in game (she did use a gun at least once, so her being a shooter kinda makes sense though), while Gohan mostly uses moves that could be obtained through other characters, like Goku, Piccolo and Trunks, so adding him to a game with character creator and those other three characters would feel redundant.
Beerus and Goku Black are fan-favorites introduced in the Super era, but they wouldn’t really make sense in Jump Force’s story mode (as little sense as it made already).
Beerus, being a “God of Destruction,” and on good terms with Goku and co, would likely be able to just resolve the issue by himself unless they came up with an excuse to not get him involved, and at that point just leave him out entirely.
Meanwhile Goku Black is just plain omnicidal: his goal is the complete extinction of all sentient life in the multiverse (save some gods, such as himself), so having him hang out with the other villains, who are, like, some dudes who just want to take over the world/universe, wouldn’t really work. They’re all on his to-murder list as well, and likely pretty high up there due to Goku Black’s insistence that he’s just punishing sinners.

With Fortnite's anime skins, they tend to have that weird american imitation of anime artstyle.

Jump Force's visuals are fine imo. I never really hated the way the game looks honestly. It does what it's going for which is making the characters look a bit more realistic in terms of detail. It just happens to be that certain characters look better than others in that style. Comparing it to how Fortnite handled it is basically apples and oranges imo. Gameplay wise, it's night and day to me. Both games have always been pretty fun from my experience but Jump Force does a way better job at making me feel like the character I'm playing. While there's other games that do it better, that doesn't automatically put it below Fortnite. Sure, the items they added were cool but a lot of them were unbalanced and I find it harder to feel like the character when I'm stuck with just one or two of their moves. In terms of characters, it's a mixed bag on both ends. The only difference is that Fortnite can just add them in whenever they want while Jump Force never had that privilege so it's an unfair comparison. Overall, I'd say I prefer Jump Force as an anime game by a decent amount just from my experience playing both.

Honestly , comparing visuals is fucking dumb. While one literally copies the art style of the anime , being it way easier , the other tries to make it realistic , a major obstacle to get over , when coming to fidelity to the material. Jump Force models look great for a realistic anime model , in my opinion. Sure , they're not perfect , but most of the things you said are pure cap/basically unnoticeable during gameplay. Only Midoriya's and All Might's eyes are really noticeable , but I don't think of a better way of representing them in this realistic form. While Fortnite's are fucking humongous , and even Storm Connections dudes could have done better , because their faces looks shit. It's not like its art style is completely different from anything we've seen in the anime gaming industry so far. I'd definitely give this one to Jump Force.

This is a really dumb comment lmao. Just because jump force decided to personally go for that doesn't mean you can't compare them. It's not his fault jump force chose terrible style direction for the game. You could still compare them and judge which style looks best. Dragon Ball FighterZ art style is way different from Budokai. I could still compsre them and say that DB FighterZ looks better. haha dummy

I adore the realistic artstyle of Jump Force. I don’t get the hate. Sure, Deku kinda sucks with the tiny hands, but I completely disagree with your mentality that they look like cosplayers. They look just like the characters but with a lot more detail.

I hope the next Jump looks more like Sparking Zero. That is what Jump characters should look like in an anime game.

The Jump Force artstyle makes all the anime characters look like you're play as giant action figures of them as opposed to playing as the anime characters themselves. Mega Man X has the same issue in Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and it's mainly due to the fact the Unreal Engine doesn't look very good on anime characters aside from Kingdom Hearts 3.

Bro Dekus smash was so over powered in Fortnite. It was so over powered that it was just one of those things I felt bad for using. Like I didnt just think it was over powered when I died to it. I laughed at how over powered it was when I was using it as well.

I would have given the gameplay to jump force aence in fortnite only s few characters can use thier signiture moves like gokus Kamehameha, gojos hollow purple and dekus detroit smash but characters like vegeta cant use final flash, sasuke cant use chidori and itadoru cant use black flash
In jump force every character has at least 4 attacks iconic to them specifically

I would definitely say jump considering it’s supposed up hold all of the characters aesthetics from design to their VA which is very good. Fortnite kinda dose have more botched designs of all of the characters 😂 but there not bad. I’m biased for Jump cause I do love playing it and have been since high school of my sophomore year.
