When my son was going through chemo a local church bought all of his Xmas gifts one year. I cannot explain how absolutely grateful I was. We had no money due to expenses, my son was 16 at the time and he understood the situation and didn't care about getting gifts, I mean I'm sure he was bummed but he's not ya know, spoiled. Christmas Eve the lady showed up with like 20/30 gifts to put under the tree. She had asked a couple weeks prior to give her a list of all the things he wanted and I thought maybe 2-3 they would get him. They got him every single thing on the list. It blew my mind and my heart.
So thanks for helping those in need. It makes a difference.
You can totally see her processing and understanding the process of giving to someone else. Pefect understanding for her age....made it hillarious for me...everyone that has a negative comment please remember her age
Her age is the main thing -- the earlier the correction, the better! The longer one waits to lead their child in the right direction the harder it is!
@@sunnyhill8179 at the end of the day they're doing the best they can! No one's perfect. Remember that! At least they're trying. Unlike other parents out there who don't care
thats what I keep saying. She will understand when she gets older. At the end of the day. Carlin and Evan are doing the best they can
I love how Carlin is trying to explain giving for Christmas.
Layla is also an A type personality with a LOT of exuberance…(can’t imagine where she gets it from)…LOL!!! But, I think a lot of people mistake her personality/exuberance as being spoiled. At the end of the day she’s still only 3 and this is her first experience with giving unselfishly. It’s a learning process and I believe her parents handled it well. 🍁🍂Happy Thanksgiving all!!!🦃
My husband and I put $2.00 a week in a Christmas club account for each of our kiddos. They got to choose a name off of the angel tree and buy for that child. They really enjoyed that tradition. It was special for them to learn to give to others in need, and they enjoyed choosing the gifts themselves, and paying with their own money.
That’s awesome! ❤
Zade is an agreeable little man. His head-nod to any question asked him is so sweet.
Layla did a great job shopping. Well-done mom & dad!
Layla is beyond 3 in her understanding, and so precious to be adaptable to learning to give. Zade handled it well too, especially wanting to give two of those balls instead of one. ❤
That was adorable and so sweet.
Zade will amaze us in another year, just like Layla. As it appears, they have no barriers to early emotional/psychological development.
Taught my daughter to give then she passed it down to my granddaughter it’s the most wonderful time of year to give and bless others ❤🙏😘
What a great lesson to teach children!!! Giving to the less privileged is huge!!!!
Layla is her own special lil lady she acts so much like her daddy it's so cute.
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. JESUS is the Reason for The Season!❤❤❤
This is a beautiful teaching moment. You handled it beautifully. Thank you for being real. It’s not easy for kids. You did it so well !!! Way to go.
I didn’t mean to sound mean and I’m proud of you for helping any child.I just see so many needy kids here in America and it’s so sad, especially around Christmas.
Carlin explained giving to Layla so well.
@@Jenna-Roo oh please. You are putting adult emotions on a child. She is really young and they deal with her totally age appropriately.
I love how you are teaching Layla and Zade young about thinking of others and not making Christmas just about them. It is natural for kids Layla's age to be egocentric; so Layla wanting to keep gifts for herself does not indicate anything wrong. Just keep teaching them about doing for others and it will become more natural with time. Just a little bit of encouragement. I love your family and look forward to your weekly vlogs. Happy Thanksgiving Evan and Carlin!
Thanks for saying that i totally agree
Happy Thanksgiving to the Stew Crew- thank you Lord for our blessings.
Carlin I love how you take the time to explain things to Layla instead of using most parents way of “because I said so”. I think maybe that’s why Layla is so smart and understanding beyond her years is because you take the time to help her understand rather than just trying to make her do what you want. You help her to be able to truly enjoy giving rather than “having” to give ❤
Layla is still young, but these lessons are so important. As she gets older it will be easier because of the example that your family sets.
Layla precious you two are doing a beautiful job Teaching the kids values
When Zade put the second ball in the box I almost cried 🥹 so sweet you both did amazing!!
Layla & Zade were adorable in their giving to their friends in Mexico! Layla cracked me up when choosing a Christmas tree! 😂😝😊
Layla with the tongue out dismissing Christmas 🎄 trees. I love that. ❤️
So you love kids being that way
Yeah, see the word here is KID, and technically she's a TODDLER still. She didn't scream or get physical or bother anyone else. I guess your kids were always super perfect, right?
Just love your youtube ch so much! You guys make me so happy every time i watch. You guys should have your own TV series. I'm sure you'd have a huge audience watching every week.
See you on the next one! 🥰👍🏻💕
Our family does that every year at Christmas but we give to American children, there are so many US children that have needs now more than ever.
It's hard to teach them to give to others...mine struggled as well grasping the concept. Keep doing it every year and your kiddos will eventually catch on.
Layla really is sweet and so is Zade! Evan and Carlin, really enjoyed your video! Those two are just too sweet and so precious! Love seeing Katie and Hailey on your video and Hailey is so sweet and precious too! Can't wait till your next vlog. Love y'all and God Bless You!❤️🎄
Layla is the smartest little 3 year old . It is good that you are teaching them to give at a young age, watching your family
Oh my goodness. I love that layla is such a lil spunk and you let her be herself.
Layla is so precious. Loved the headbands she picked. She is so intelligent for her young age. I am with Zade. Who needs to have sock and shoes.
LOL ... Layla is ONE of a kind!
As is every child.
She's spolit
very clever!
Can't wait to see when zade starts to interact more😊
You have a wonderful family and you’re doing a great job raising your kids. Some of the comments on here are unbelievable. Lots of judgements and unsolicited advice from people who I’m sure have ALWAYS made the perfect decisions 🙄 Most of us understand that we are only seeing a minuscule part of your lives and that we don’t really know you or how you make the decisions you make. Thank you for what you do share…I, like many others, enjoy it! You’re doing a great job and I think your children are adorable!
Zade looks so much like his daddy
Zade is Evan’s dad mini me
That is a wonderful thing to be teaching the kids. You two are doing an amazing job with Layla and Zade.❤
Hi from South Africa Evan and Carlin, I just want to say I think you two are doing an amazing job at the very rewarding but difficult job of parenting. I have 2 granddaughters who are almost 5 and I know it's an ongoing process of teaching little ones how to share, but Layla did so well and so many of her responses to choosing gifts for her 'friend' are the same that I get from my grandkids so I had a laugh then. Bringing your children up In The Lord is a blessing to you and to them. ❤ There's just one thing I object to and that is Zayd's hat perched at the top of his head. 😂
That's so awesome that your teaching them to give at an early age. Zade putting the ball back in the box priceless he's a sweet little guy God Bless all of you.
She's only 3. This is how it starts. Kids are taught to model giving and sharing. You are doing a fantastic job explaining and teaching. Keep it up! We need more heart like your family.
I did that with my kids when they were little even up until they graduated. But ours were on the Angle Tree at our church. They have names of kids, from our community, of all ages, who are hurting with sizes and gift ideas on it and the kids pick a child their age and buy for them. It was a great tradition and memory. Our Church teams up with the Salvation Army.
Carlin has great fashion sense. Layla is growing up so beautiful. She already has a great singing voice. Maybe do some father daughter duets??? Little Zade is super sweet. Blessings to the Stew-Crew. 😊
She is the MOST ADORABLE LITTLE LADY IN THE WORLD ❤She makes me laugh and cry Thanks for sharing her with us!!
Layla and Zade are just the cutest! They were so sweet picking out the presents! I love watching your videos! You make us feel so good! Hugs!🎄💜👍
Now that giving to another child less fortunate will become a tradition and the kids will understand it more as they get older. So glad you're doing it!!
Layla is a true trip. She makes me laugh. I love how Zade just agrees with his sister ❤
Way to go Dad and Mom!!! Teaching them in the ways of the Lord. Loving seeing little Zades personality developing. What adorable children.
Zada is always so fun to watch. Whatever you ask him, he always seems to nod yes. Your family is fun to watch.
Layla cracks me up!!! She already has the look for when she is crowned Ms. America! She tells us goodbye when she gets ready, lol. Zayde is always agreement when you ask who likes the tree, the lights, raising his hand up high. They are adorable little people!!
So many opinions. 🤦🏻♀️
Evan and Carlin, well done on teaching your children generosity from an early age. Keep it up and continue make it a regular part of life. If you can teach your children gratitude and generosity, they’ll be on a solid path in life.
Love seeing your videos each week! Thanks for sharing bits of your life with us. ❤
Happy Thanksgiving, Stew Crew!!
I think people sometimes forget she is 3 year old!!
@@Cheyenne-vi6fijust like you have, so don’t be a hypocrite. You’ve literally talked crap about Layla yourself.
Sweetest family. Teaching them to give is wonderful. Good job Mom and Dad
That's such a sweet way to teach them to give to others! They're so adorable!
So precious and yes it’s so important to teach kids the value of giving and the fact that some kids aren’t as blessed to have what they have. You are great parents!
O my goodness how adorable. Evan your son looks so much like you. ❤
I think Layla did exceptionally well. You both did wonderful encouraging her to give & that’s what it’s all about.
Zade is a chill baby ..the kids are so sweet …my friend is going to Mexico taking teddy bears she made ..happy thanksgiving
Y’all are such good parents! And I just adore Layla and lil mr Z! Such a sweet fun loving couple and just all around great family! Love yall in the lord and God bless you guys these holidays! ❤❤❤ make longer videos lol I could watch yall all day ❤
I love that you are teaching her compassion for others. And that she is so sweet about it. She is a special little girl
This was one of my all time favorite videos that you all have done. Loved when Evan pointed out God blessing givers. Your 2 are growing up with so much and I love how you are showing them how important it is to give to others at such young ages. 2 of my grandbabes are very spoiled. They are not growing up in a Godly home. I pray that my daughter, who was raised to give....returns to her roots and starts doing this with her children.
I died when she said "I hate that one"
I am sure Layla's friend will love all of the special things that she picked out. 💕 ❤️ 💖
This new vlog is full of Christmas traditions and hope the kids in Mexico have a wonderful Christmas and hope the guys have a safe trip down there and can't wait to see the new Christmas tree and hope Layla and Zade have fun decorating for Christmas. By the way happy early Thanksgiving to you guys and your family.
Such fun. They both did a great job. It will become a special tradition to give each year to kids in need. Looks like you had a fun week with Katie and Hailey also. Happy Thanksgiving Stew Crew 🍂🎄🦃
Maybe not just at Christmas. There are so many in need this year all year for food, necessities in our poor economy. There are lonely people in nursing homes who would love a visit from pretty young people and their children. 🥹
Operation Christmas Child is such a great organization.
Layla is a total hoot. She was ready to be done.
That was a very sweet video. Our children are so lucky there’s a lot of kids they don’t have Christmas. That was very sweet. Your tree look really pretty y’all. Have a blessed Saturday night.❤🌲
I constantly have a smile on my face when I watch your channel!!! I watch a lot of couples and no one else makes me smile like The Stew Crew!!!! 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
We started taking our grandkids at the age of 2 shopping for gifts for charity. The oldest is now 14 and he asked me today if I could take him shopping for charity next week. We used to give them each $100 to spend and it was so fun to see them shop for the best deals to get the most for their money. The grandkids are 14 & 10 now and they use their saved allowance money for shopping. Such a great feeling to see them so giving.
I am glad you are teaching your children young to give to others. So sweet ❤
love seeing you teach Layla the importance of giving instead of receiving! Good job for teaching her young! Zade too even tho he doesn't really understand yet but he will get there!
Pretty sure Zade actually got the concept BETTER than Layla, ha!
That was such a great thing to teach them how to give to to others. Zade was so sweet putting his ball in the box!!
Layla is so funny picking out the Christmas tree ❤
I love that you are teaching her how to be giving for other ❤ being selfless is so important to teach
Layla cracks me up every time. She has the best personality 😂
What sweeties…such an awesome thing to do and teach your children…They are so adorable…Layla is so adorable ♥️♥️♥️
I love that you are teaching your children how to give
She did really well to be 3. Some adults would not be as giving. ❤❤❤Zade grew up so fast 😢. He has a very sweet heart 2. Both balls were going in that box. ❤❤
So sweet. She’s learning! It’s very hard for littles this age to understand, but you are doing an amazing job teaching her. ❤️Even wanting to split the headbands was cute. She wanted to share one of them. 💝💕
Aww y’all are the best parents. Teaching your kiddos about caring and giving to others. Your baby’s are so sweet. Baby boy was wanting to put the extra ball in the box for his friend ❤ and it was really for him. That just melts my heart. I’m so proud of them two❤ hugs and kisses from Alabama. Goodness I just love your sweet little babies. Sending love 💕 from your internet nana❤😊 God bless your sweet family Carla🎄🎁💕
They are the sweetest and cutest little kiddos! Awesome tradition to do every year!
The kids are so cute. I love their personalities.
Oh my goodness you guys have done the most amazing job with Layla and Zade.. if I had you two as parents I would be the most blessed child ever.. keep doing what you are doing may God bless you all 🙏
This was precious.
What a great tradition to start. I remember when my kids was little and trying to teach them about giving. You both are doing a great job. Loved Layla Xmas tree shopping she had me in tears. Have a blessed thanksgiving with family.
Zade with his little toboggan on, reminded me of Spanky from "Our Gang". Ur kids just couldn't get any more adorable! ❤ this one guys! C ya on the next one. God bless
Love this video ❤ This video reminds me of how special the story of the Christmas orange is. It's a great story to share with younge children. 🙏❣
Aww!!! Zade is a sweetheart!! Layla is the cutest little thing!!!! Great job mom and dad!! Raising them up right! ❤️❤️
Layla has so much confidence! Great Job to Mom and Dad! She has just the right amount of being precocious without being too annoying where she is confident in herself yet humble with a lot of love and tender hearted! Just adorable with wonderful Mom and Dad and little brother Zade! Have great Holidays keep being a Blessing to all your followers
Y’all are great parents! Teaching them young about giving. 🙏🏼💜🎄💙💕
You did such an amazing job explaining everything to Layla. She is seriously so sweet!!
So sweet to teach your kids about giving to others. I think they both did great. ❤
Layla and her blah !! She is the cutest ❤
Yes, good to start that young. Hope to see a next level of that next year. Eventually she may want to meet that "friend"? We'll see.
I Love that too! Shoe boxes through the church. I love Layla!!
You’re family is such a blessing to others.
Oh my goodness! The faces Layla makes while Christmas Tree shopping! Too funny! 😂
Layla is so gosh darn cute. Zade has a sweet heart.
Layla is cracking me up this episode!!! She comes out of her shell more and more. And I noticed this week how much her looks have changed and she’s looking like Carlin!! Beautiful!! 😍
Layla picked out the tree her mommy liked too!!! Layla knows a good tree when she sees one! 🙌🏻
Such a wonderful family! Gos bless you all…
I’m so glad you are giving stuff that a child loves. I find that many people fill a shoebox with Dollar Tree items that won’t last very long.
Their such sweet littles with giving hearts! ❤
As she gets older she will definitely learn! U guys are doing amazing!
That's great that you're teaching them to give at a young age!
I love your little family. Both children are so PRECOCIOUS (old fashioned word)! Layla is very young now, I know, but as a grandmother I am concerned about young children I see on social media. There seems to be a trend in our materialistic world for little girls to seek to be young "divas". There is one very pretty pre-teenage girl who sings, maybe using YT to build a career. (I have never listened to her). I get concerned about any mama training their child to be self-promoting, not realizing how it will turn out for them as they grow up. So many popular artists have gotten into actual sinful ruin due to the flattery of others, enjoying their appearance in the mirror, etc. So heart-breaking! Superficiality is like building a house upon sand, no stability.
I was a baby & tot thru WWII. Little money, our family rarely bought us things except at Christmas and some of the gifts were hand-made, which I adored! Being once per year, it was all so special! It was similar with my children. I trained them not to ask for anything when we were in stores. They got a couple of gifts on birthdays, cake and ice cream but no BIG parties every. single. year! It has been the same with my grandchildren. They have always been grateful for the simplest of gifts. Some of them are now adults. They were taught to be humble, non-covetous and are now generous-hearted. I love that you are teaching Layla & Zade to reach out to needy children.
I hope you will not take offense to my comments! 😇 We live in a materialistic society where children are highly influenced by their peers and it takes great spiritual insight to resist indulging our children. The older they grow, the harder it is to break habits of self-focus. Constant scriptural teaching helps with this!
Blessings on you as Christian young adults and parents!
I think Carlin and Evan are doing a great job as Christian parents.🤷♀️ Better than a lot of other parents in today’s immoral, sinful world.
@@Net-26 exactly. At least they're trying.
I get what you're saying. But at the end of the day, they're doing the best they can. No one is perfect and she is still pretty young so you gotta give them the benefit of the doubt there. At least they're trying, unlike other parents out there who don't care
Maybe it's b/c they may have been poor before they had a show. And their wanting better for their kids. I get it though. My Parents and Grandparents and even My husband and I didn't have or give parties every single year !! It was our 5 th birthday, 12 or 13th birthday, 16th and 18th birthday usually. My dad told My little half sisters that it was ridiculous giving 4 and under a party. He said they don't even remember it ! Lol. Hate 2 say it ,, but he's right!. My sisters and my daughter ( they are about the same age,,, ) Spend at least 300.00 on Birthday Parties,,,and that's not including another 300.00 on gifts!!! And look at electronics!! Phones and games etc.!! Outrageous!!!
Sunnyhill8179, I also feel this way about baby showers!! Every pregnancy, Young Women throw a baby shower for themselves!! Instead of a friend or family member giving them a shower, The couple register at an expensive baby store and they choose what they want!! Back in our day, ( The 80s ) Our Fri and or family bought just the basics. We didn't get to wish for extravagant gifts !! Lol. Now it's so commercialized !! The Gender reveal parties!!! I mean ,,,Come on!! Also, Parties after or before the wedding also is way different than when we got married or and engaged. Its also '' Worldly" Also Cell Phones and the internet and wifi is also Worldly !!! I couldn't believe when the Duggars and the Bates started buying their kids cell phones. It seemed like if you didn't want them watching T.V. ........Then You wouldn't want them on the internet where you can see porn for free. Just my opinion.
Absolutely proud of you Layla and you two are amazing parents!!! The lessons we instill in our children create the best foundation for their life’s!!!
