I never comment on videos, but I felt compelled to do so on this one.
I had brain surgery as an infant and had that surgery revised as a young child. So, naturally, I am prone to migraine, due to the trauma to my skull. Through a series of events- I won’t describe here- I ended up having seizures and stroke like symptoms (chronic migraine) in the fall of 2019. After almost 18 months of testing, different types of medicine and adjusting dosages...I have found great results today. Praise the Lord! He answered many prayers and gave wisdom through great doctors, proper treatment, medicine, and lifestyle/diet changes.
During the course of my journey, I kept a journal and I noticed my symptoms greatly increased once a month. I ended up having a hysterectomy (granted I’m almost 40, and was done having children). However, upon receiving the biopsy they discovered a rare condition that actually caused inflammation (which can trigger migraine) and this condition apparently can cause a whole host of other neurological issues as it decreases vitamin D levels in your body. It was an absolute game changer. I have been able to wean off of almost all medicine.
My encouragement to you is to keep a journal, I’m sure you already do this, and monitor any pattern or trigger. I’d be happy to share more with you, but in any event I’m praying for you. You’re doing a great job of shining your light in the valley and being a testimony, of His faithfulness- hang in there!🙏🏽

As someone who has seizures, I want to thank you for sharing the times when you are frustrated or depressed, and just the fact that your tests show that everything is normal. I have been battling this since 2016. Every test and hospital stay everything comes back normal. I get really fed up and want to quit. I know I am not the only one, but seeing your videos, truly has helped me realize that I am not the only one. Thank you for that. Merry Christmas to you and your family
Mine started April 2016 as well. It took me multiple hospital stays, countless EEGs, 4 Neurologists later & in 2019 I finally received the correct diagnosis. I have what's called Conversion disorder. No medication can stop them, only therapy. I started Biblical based trauma therapy in 2020 & have been seizure free for over a year now. I was raised by abusive family & then was abused in a previous marriage for 18yrs. I changed my phone number & cut ALL contact with parents & siblings & now I'm doing great. I was a nurse for nearly 18yrs prior to the seizures. I am now on disability & hoping I can one day work again. Look up dissociative/psycogenic seizures associated with Conversion disorder & see if your symptoms are similar. Mine cause amnesia as well. My memory is sketchy from April - December 2016. I truly hope you & Carlin get answers & the correct treatment

@@GODBLESSES mine isn't due to epilepsy or vitamin/mineral deficit they were due to years of trauma. My innocence was taken at the age of 4. Plus physical & mental abuse my entire life.
Take 1/4 tsp Epsom Salts daily. Harmless even if pregnant. USA announced in 1936 soils were deficient of magnesium. 88% of North Americans are deficient in magnesium which leads to over 57 serious diseases. You can not eat enough food to get enough. In a hospital in France they gave IV of Epsom Salt for polio, epilepsy and other problems 48 years ago. Vitamins and minerals tablets have wrong amounts. It is an essential mineral also Is possasium. Get enough by eating a good serving of potatoes or yams daily, best source of the right amount. Also use iodized table salt not red himalaym salt.

As someone who has suffered with migraines for almost 30 years they are no joke. I was diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines. When I was pregnant with our fourth daughter my hemiplegic migraine presented like a stroke. Slurred speech and everything. For weeks before that episode it felt like fire was running through my body from my foot all the way up to the side of my face. It was excruciating pain that woke me up. I also have ocular migraines. My neurologist was awesome and I feel like you are heading the right direction to get the answers you have been looking for for so long. Don't give up, fight for answers.
I was just diagnosed with hemiplegic migraine disorder in March. Mine started while I was sick with maybe Covid (I didn’t test) & by the time I went to the hospital (2 weeks after they started) it was too late to test. Either way - I was thankful to at least have a neurologist who recognized what I was experiencing.
Mine come with the fire - ice feeling too - on my right side.
May I ask if you take any meds that help control the episodes? I tried 2 different anti seizure meds - one didn’t work, the other made the episodes worse & made me depressed.
I have switched to eating clean & no processed foods and that’s helping a bit.

@@emilycole6453 fortunately for me the first and stroke presentations have never returned after that pregnancy and that baby girl is 7 1/2. However, I have a lot of issues with processing sentences and getting words out verbally when I am in the middle of an episode. Makes working as a CFO complicated sometimes. I don't take any prescription medications and treat everything as natural as possible. Mostly I have learned how to manage them. Good luck to you.

You are both doing an amazing job of raising happy, smart, curious, kind and loving kiddos. Watching Evan with Layla - and how he encourages her to be her full self and builds traditions and fun jokes between them … it’s simply beautiful and moving (especially if you are a daughter without a father/relationship). Congratulations to you both. It is a challenging time in life. I really appreciate what you share with us - speaking now of the health situation - I know it can be easier to just not address it … I’m so happy the meds are helping. I, like you both, wish very much they can pinpoint a diagnosis and that then, will help you reclaim the life you had before this all started. Being chronically ill and on heavy medication is a tough road. And the mystery and unknowing is unsettling. I’m sure you wonder about what the future holds. I’m so glad you have each other to be supports and confidants and partners through this big challenge. Clearly it is only bringing you closer as you tap into all that love and empathy a couple must have to get through the hard things in life. We all may have different ‘hard’ but we all have hard and we have so much compassion for what it feels like in the midst of it all.

My son has been seizure free for 6 months with the right meds. I say this to give you encouragement to continue taking your meds as prescribed and working with the docs to find your right meds and dosages. ❤❤

I understand what your going through, I’ve had my chronic migraine disease since I was 8 and it has definitely took a toll bc it took 3 years for doctors to finally diagnosed me. It is so hard to talk about and since theirs no specific cure, it gets better and over time it’s easier to cope with but the biggest thing is to try to stay positive! Much love and Merry Christmas

When I turned 13, I started having seizures. It took a few different medicines, patience and a lot of prayers before I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Eventually the right medicine was found and it was determined my epilepsy was triggered by hormonal changes. The medicine controlled the seizures. At age 25 when I became pregnant it was recommended that I stop any seizure medication as it could cause birth defects. No medicine and no seizures until after delivery while in recovery. So back on meds. But only for a short time as five years later I was seizure free. Not sure why just grew out of them I guess. Continue your prayers and have faith Carlin. You are not alone. 🥰🙏

Merry Christmas! My brother has epileptic seizures and I think he gets a headache afterwards too. Not saying that's what you have, but maybe it's normal with seizures. 🤷🏼♀️ He started having them at 22yrs old out of no where and he's 44yrs old now. Many prayers for you and the doctors for answers and wisdom. My husband and I don't buy each other gifts for Christmas bc we focus on our kids and others, but this year he have me the best gift and it was free... He came to church with me and our girls and he actually enjoyed it. (He's not in church like he should or used to be 😔) I told him how much appreciated it and I think the Lord is working on him. Hey me again. I hate it when people keep asking you how you are doing medically. It’s as if they see you for the medical situation instead of who you really are. I find saying “next question “…. Helps stops people from asking all the time. I understand that when you are reminded you think more about it. I think that because of people not knowing much about it they are asking without thinking
So from someone who has the silent seizures and sometimes wandering. Thank you for being a voice about seizures and epilepsy even if you didn’t realize that you are! Keep doing what you can and adapt where you have too. In that and with God’s love you’ll be stronger than ever before!

Oh hun, sending prayers for answers for you. I know it’s hard not knowing what it is. My husband has 2 autoimmune disorders that took 8 1/2 years of searching on an answer. When we finally got it (4 weeks ago), we just thanked God with every ounce of us. God has got your situation and there is light at the end. I just hope this helps you with your journey. God has got this.

My brother went through a similar bout of sudden onset seizures. Couldn’t drive and took meds for a bit like you. Then he just quit having them. Never discovered the cause but he hasn’t had a seizure in years. Merry Christmas 🎄 to you all!

P.S When our kiddos were young we had them set in the stairs and play Mother may I so my husband would have enough tine to start coffee. Carlin setting in the stairs with the kiddos reminded me of that.
I have a rule that you can't buy yourself anything in December so that you don't accidentally buy a gift someone else got you. So frustrating, sorry.

It takes a while of trial and error, to find the rite meds, and the rite dose of meds. It's very important to always take your medicine even when you're feeling better and you don't think you need it. Hey guys, thanks so much for including us in your lives. Merry Christmas.

I can empathize with not wanting to talk about health issues. I've dealt with health concerns and treatments over the last year and it got so old talking about it and many times I just wanted to forget about it. So when people asked, again coming from a good place, it just reminded me of what was going on. If you have not, I would highly suggest talking to a counselor. I started seeing one after I was diagnosed and it has been SO helpful for me. Merry Christmas.

I love love this . Such positivity and sharing the reason for the season! At the end when you said that Layla doesn’t have a big attention span - my mother gave a valuable insite. She said that children’s attention span is only as long as they are old. So if they are two, then you have two minutes of their attention, and so on. I find this to be so true!

Chronic illness is so exhausting in every way. When there aren’t answers, it’s that much more depressing. I’ve been there. I’m still there, in some ways, but it’s gotten better too. Praying for clarity for your medical team, answers, a cure, and strength to run this race. 💖
