Thanks for sharing the good and the bad of holidays. This was my first holiday since my husband passed and I didn’t want to do anything. But then I realized all of the things I have to be thankful for. I have 2 wonderful sons & 2 beautiful grandchildren of which I am very thankful for. So I went out for dinner with our dear church friends and had a really nice time. Yes its hard not hearing my husband preach but we all need to always remember the good things in life. God bless you and your beautiful family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. 10 yrs ago I lost my mom just before Easter. It was very hard on our family. But I have 10 beautiful grandkids, 4 beautiful children and their spouses. Any Holiday was my mom favorite. I have such wonderful Cherished memories from whenI was going up , then having my kids and grandkids.

30+ years ago when we had small kids either one of them would be sick every holiday. July 4, 1984, our 2 year old son stuffed mini Hershey Kisses in his ears then announced that he couldn’t hear. By the time we arrived to the clinic, the chocolate melted. Now we have grandkids who are just like their parents. Some day your family will look back at these times and treasure the memories. Yes it was meant to be heard and be remembered when we have delays or cancellations remember the train.
About 15 years ago, I was on my way to work and i left my lunch. I turned around to go home and get my lunch. On the road was a 8 car pile up that had just occurred and I just missed it. The police were arriving when I made it there. So yes, remember the train could be God keeping you from harm.
Me too! That spoke to me also. Along with the sunset. “If God can do that, He can do anything.” Amazing

Carlin, I have watched you grow up on tv. I am probably your mother’s age, and as a Christian myself, you were and still are such a blessing. You are a wonderful mommy, and are such an amazing example for our Lord. You have gone through so much, yet you have handled it with grace. What a wonderful husband and daddy Evan is too. I want to let you know that you’ll have uplifted my spirits. So much tonight. I have a bad case of Covid for over a week now and haven’t got to attend church. I hurt all over my body. God has been so good to me.
I really enjoyed hearing from you all about gratitude for our Savior and how faithful and active he is in our life’s! My funny cooking story was when I was in grade school I was so excited to bake my first apple pie for the family. I forgot the sugar 😂😂😂.

I am continuing to activity have a heart of gratitude ALL year. I saw a quote once that said "What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for yesterday". It hit hard and changed the way I viewed being grateful.
Listening to you close out the video was so sweet. It is so true that we have to appreciate what we have in our lives. My brother was killed suddenly in work/construction accident in May, and this Thanksgiving was really hard for our family. He was 52, and taken at the prime of his life. Take time for those people that matter in your lives, we don't know what tomorrow will bring.
So sorry for the loss of your brother. Prayers for your family. Grammy from Texas

For the longest time growing up that Thanksgiving was my holiday because my birthday is so close to thanksgiving. My uncle finely told me that it wasn't. Even as an adult I still think it is. When you have a big family it makes the holiday so much more fun. I hope you have a great holiday season.

I remember going to a women’s Church conference and they talked about journaling. One of the journals should be a grateful journal where every night you write down what you’re grateful for from that day. It’s amazing when your feeling down to look back and remind yourself that the times you feel down are just a moment and the that journal reminds you of all of the gratitude you have in your life. Thank you both for sharing your life and this sweet children with all of us! We love y’all! 💝

You always say things that seem directed at me. I just the other day said I need to focus on who I have in my life. It's hard when you are mourning to focus on anything but the person you lost. My son was murdered 12-10-17. During that time of heavy mourning. A beautiful man named Bill came into my life. We started out as friends. Then became best friends. Then he asked me to marry him. He was so wonderful at helping me through my son's death. Then on 4-22-23 we were driving home from dinner. A impaired driver hit us head on. My fiancee was killed. I almost died. It's been horrible. I didn't celebrate Thanksgiving. I don't know why I said that but. I don't know how to live life right now. Your videos help me.
I am so sorry for your losses. I can not fathom the pain you are walking through. But God loves you so very much.

When my daughter was growing up in the 80’s Thanksgiving time period was always bad. She got sick many years. When she was 20 months we all gathered at my in-laws for dinner. My daughter was kind of fussy. Fortunately she was in a high chair not at the table and puked all over the dining room. Another year she had pneumonia the week between Christmas and New Years. I had strep throat last year at Christmas. This year my Golden Retriever puked on my bedroom carpet at 1:30 am Thanksgiving morning. 😊 I hope you all were able to enjoy some of the holiday.

In Australia we don’t celebrate thanksgiving but I certainly felt the love and your right we need to practice gratitude all year long.. being thankful and SATISFIED with the 80% it’s about quality not quantity ❤❤❤

I always got sick during my annual leave/ before a big event. Best advice I heard is one month before a big event/holiday start taking extra care of yourself/your kids. Take an immune booster, eat extra healthy, ensure you don't get cold, etc. I do this now and I no longer get sick before a big event/annual leave.

I think it’s funny because my daughter used to fall sick on a lot of holidays. I remember her running a fever and her cheeks would get red. I knew when she was sick. Hope that everyone is feeling better. I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving! Love you all!🥰💜🦃🥰
We don't like turkey at my house. We always cook a chicken, kielbasa, sauerkraut, stuffing, taters n a veggie. Hate turkey, I call it the dirty bird bc it tastes well, dirty lol

Happy holiday season. I had to stop on two days before Thanksgiving to not complain about so much to do but right away 4-5 things came to mind to be grateful for. I stopped and being grateful changed the way I went through the rest of the day. God is always good even when we are not. We love because of Him. God IS love. Thank your sister for the train analogy, it will be remembered whenever I am stuck at a train. We all have to slow down and take time to be present every day.
