I am glad to see them making this pistol. Many other calibers have their niche, but the 45 is the most versatile auto loader caliber in existence. From 120 grain at blistering speeds, to 255 grain hard cast stompers. 45 ACP, +p, 45 Super, 45 SMC, in the same pistol, all the way to the might 460 Roland with a kit. Given some attention from ammunition companies, this caliber is just beginning. Thanks for the video

while 9mm does almost anything one can ask from a pistol in modern loadings, I do still love 45, especially on a suppressed pistol/PCC. People make a huge deal about capacity, but outside of a service pistol, if you need a 17 rd mag? You are probably screwed already.
But in a house, self defense? I'll take a sub sonic, big fat 230 grain pill thru a suppressor, and keep some modicum of my hearing, thanks.
.45acp really shines as a suppressed cartridge. Given the proliferation of suppressors these days it’s going to be around for a long time.

I own an FNS-9C as my carry, I used to work at FNMI and they are one of the nicest shops I have ever worked in.
Good people making outstanding firearms, I guess I'll be looking into purchasing one of these because I love .45ACP and I love FN.
The FNX45 I’ve owned for 8 years will forever be the greatest handgun I’ve ever owned… I wish they would make a mini version of it. Compact with hammer, single/double action, and de cocker.

.45 being naturally subsonic will always make it appealing to the suppressor market.

@@ssths Just go .450 SMC. They get around the fully supported case design that 45 super needs by replacing the 45 brass with it's parent case, 308. So the case is thicker and can support higher pressure loads. You need a +P rated spring and that's it. You're getting the same speeds as well. Though, the ammo is hard to come by since they are always sold out online.
A buddy of mine bought an FNX45 years ago. I think we weighed one of his spare mags and found that it weighed the same as my Glock 26!
I love my FNX Tactical. 3 extra rounds with the 545. I stick with my FNX. Glad FN is still innovating though

I know the FN510 is my fav new 10mm striker fire for sure I got both colors finally after having the coyote for a week now 460 rounds so far no malfunctions FN really stepped up recoil control in these and better grouping.

I like FN, I personally don't have any or shot any FN guns, but if I was gonna go with FN in .45 I'd go with the FNX 45
10mm is probably eating more into 9mm market share than 45.

not if this thing is as tough as the FNX 45 was. .45 SUPER beats 10mm any day, especially with handloads.

I got my first 10mm at 16 in 93. It was a Glock 20. Now I have the trinity of glocks 10s. Was going to get the new sig, but now this is on the market. Getting this. Hardcast 10mm vs 45 suoer. Will kill the same. I just have more of them.
10 is just high pen 9. 45 makes the hole.
And to answer your question, the 510 and 545 have identical capacity in the flush magazine 🤣 so 45 super would beat 10 in every respect.

Oh, and yes, .5 would be better. That's why I also own two 50GI guns. However, guncrafter industries does a very poor job advertising the round and never let anyone besides themselves make the ammo, cases, or firearms for it so it's just not realistic to shoot regularly. Very sad

I am deeply torn which of these FN's I want to try first. I'm strongly leaning towards the 510 since I don't own a 10mm yet....
i wanna know if this beast has a fully supported barrel. If it does, then this could be a great host for some high power .45 SUPER rounds, provided we can get heavier spring weights etc for it.
if .45 SUPER had caught on more, 10mm never wouldve become this popular. i think its time though. way more potential in the .45 case than the 10mm case.

You don't need "fully supported" chambers for 45 super. The USP 45 teaches us that.

I enjoy shooting my FN-FNX45 Tactical. I don't think I will be getting a 545, though. Shorter barrel on the 545 and not nearly as nice a trigger as the DA/SA hammer fired FNX45. Maybe a 510 will be in the cards.
FNX triggers are nice. Are they stopping production on those?
This is the gun I've been cyberbullying FN to make since the 509 came out. I'll definitely be looking to trade my FNX 45 Tactical against one.

@@jaksahn3370 Nothing really. DA/SA trigger is kinda crummy, but that's an entirely subjective personal preference. I just have four kids and a mortgage and I'm not financially stacked enough to justify owning two $1,000+ pistols that basically fill the exact same niche. YMMV

Hated the glock 30 so I hope fn makes one but I've been carrying the fnx 45 tac for like 6 years now and it's great but sometimes I can use a smaller gun depending where I'm at (home, work, etc) other than that there's nothing really wrong with it

i love 10mm and want the 510 but 18 rounds of 45 is more than enough fire power for my needs. im not in bear country so 10mm is not needed but wanted, i might just wait till the end of the year for prices to set down after the new gun craze settles and see which i get.
I was so freaking pissed, went to my local gun shop and they had the 545 and it's mag and is sold first 😑 everything 45 was freaking gone besides ammo, but the 510 was still there and I was able to hold it and not going to lie it felt really solid but I still want the 545
.45 acp is the best caliber. 1911is the perfect pistol. And I'm proud of my status as an old-man-at-heart.

Fn needs to sell caliber conversion kits between the 510 and 545 models, so maybe sell the slides and a couple mags for 500 to 600 bucks.

The predecessor to the 545 can, so you'd think thd 545 also can.
10mm is king of energy, but .45ACP is still king of expansion. Depending on what you believe, both better than 9mm.

I still prefer the fnx 45 tactical overall bigger barrel better velocity for its velocities for its projectiles, that 545 just has an extended 18 round mag, a little more compact that's all
Also 545's lower bore axis. Easier to shoot fast. Easier to conceal.

My FNX45T is not an, insignificant sized gun, I’d like to see the next to it
I've seen both the 545 and 510 side by side. What makes no since is that the 510 has a magazine with a steel tube the whole length (like a 21rd P320 mag). The 545 is a short tube with a plastic extension. Why can't both guns get the same quality magazines??

The Rowland site says they haven't had success with the round feeding reliably in a double stack pistol yet. I really want to get my hands on a kit and try it out. I bet it can be pulled off, just not sure how as of yet...
45 Super would already be plenty. 45 Super is pretty cool
What the hell good does it do to have 10 mm Chase the 45 out of the market when the loading for the 10 mm only gives you approximately the same velocity that a 40 Smith can get you. And the 40 Smith is easier to package it's still Superior by at least 20% greater permanent wound cavity over 9 m m. And most 45 loadings are about 25% greater room cavity shot-for-shot over 9 m m. The nice thing is is the 9 by 23 is also 20 to 25% greater permanent wound cavity then 9 mm as is the 38 Super 357 Magnum and 357 Sig. With the right loadings. Even 9mmm + p plus with at least a 4 inch barrel, I prefer a 4.2 to four and a half inch barrel, I still like my high-power I still think it's as good a 9 mm as has ever been built. But people running around with these three inch barrels on a 9 mm and firing bullets that are just making 1,000 feet per second, which is a minimal velocity for any efficacy at all. On bullets that work better at 1300 feet per second minimum. Does the term whiskey tango foxtrot mean anything to you?
I've found 45 ACP to actually have 50+% greater wound channel volume than 9mm. 7.94 cubic inches vs 4.44 is about 80% more

Fnx fires both 45 super and 460 rowland.
@Dusty McGuire completely voids any warranty and fn has directly spoken out against it. Last i checked they don't even stand behind it for +p.

no need. plenty of folks will buy them and run .45 SUPER handloads thru them. seen 45 super guys pushing rounds beyond rowland levels. I like what rowland did, but it requires a new barrel, proprietary rounds, propretary sights, etc etc. if this thing can handle .45 SUPER out of the box, then theres no need for Rowlands setup.
