I could be wrong- but the later l9a1 a were mkiii’s- shortly before being replaced by Glocks. From what I researched- the OG was a tangent read later a “hump” style then eventually the mkiii style. But I could be way wrong. Either way- you’re right in that it is an excellent mkiii option.
We're blessed to have some affordable Hi Power options available at last. For so long, it was just overpriced Brownings or FNs, and FEGs were scarce. These Turkish clones from Girsan and Tisas are top notch quality. I'm thinking of adding an Inglis clone to my collection while the price is still reasonable.
While it’s not an accurate L9A1 reproduction, it IS a phenomenal Mk.iii hi power clone. I love mine.

I have a FEG high power clone the Mauser 80sa and the tisas 1911 army model. Both are great pistols
