Remember this is the guy who threw 4 straight 100 mph fastballs to Trout to wrap up the WBC. He also hit a HR through the roof at the Tokyo Dome. People will be sharing stories about this guy for years to come. When he plays I usually put a Stake bet for a homerun, almost every game, that is unheard of in baseball. "We just have to win the next 2 games" ... in a calm confident fashion.
He's that kinda of guy. He didn't even say "one game at a time" ...

Ortiz is soooo right. So important to get on base. When you do that, you take part of the pitcher's focus 'cause he has to watch for the steal. You alter the way the next batter gets pitched. Good base running will help you score depending on the situation. The defense has to be better. Everything.

The Mets are not the 79 Pirates, being down 1-3. While the Mets were a hot team coming into the series, the problem is in certain hitters not coming in through big spots when they needed. Riding the high is now over. The Mets should hire Daniel Murphy as their hitting coach. He would be a great asset to this team if ever they can reconcile difference. As far as what I see, I,m already on to the off-season. The Dodgers will take it all. I don't see any thing with Cleveland or the Yankees to make me believe different. I said before the series began with Mets vs Dodgers that which ever of these two teams win, will go all the way. You just know a team of destiny. Theets went as far as they could. They rode a high, but they went against a team that is in essence a ' we can turn it on or off at will, any time we feel like it team. There is only so far you can get when it's only a few guys on the team riding a high, and only so far that win small lose big while ecking it out can get you.
