Glasnow was an All-Star for the Dodgers this year. He contributed to the team's success. He wasn't traded. He wasn't cut. He helped them get to where they are today. 14-8 in games he started. To me, any player who contributes but becomes injured before the playoffs still deserves recognition for the team's playoff achievements.
And most his losses were tight games where his offense didn’t put up runs, they didn’t give him runs all season. Maybe if his offense gave him some runs he wouldn’t be injured, because he wouldn’t have as many “stress pitches” keeping games 0-0.
@@bengolfs1money means nothing to the Dodgers owners. 😅Multiple billionaires who just want to win and are given a team in the industry with no salary cap!
The dodgers would not be here if it wasn't for Glasgow, Yamamoto and the rest of the starters were still trying to find their stride, Glasnow was carrying the rotation all the way to the all star games, make m so sad to not see him get his chance but he already did so much❤
The Dodgers would not be in the World Series without Tyler. He’s a huge part of the success this year and also a great teammate. Get healthy Tyler and run it back next year. 💪
Glasnow has been a great sport in the dugout cheering on the team. And the Dodgers would not have won the division without him. IDK if their bullpen is able to hold up if they also needed to play through the wildcard series. So props to him.
I unsure about Glasnow being a Dodger. I didnt see it at 1st but this dude pitched greatly. And since hes been hurt, hes been there to support the team. Hes got that energy. I hope he remains a Dodger
@DarkClouds-v8 hmmm, sounds familiar?? Starts with a K, ends with shaw..... Glasnow contributed way more than the old man did. Glasnow earned his salary more.
who’s acting that way? they both said he had a great season for them regardless. anyway, without the innings tyler pitched this year, the dodgers would not have won the division or made it to the postseason. he will have earned his ring if they win.
Dr Neal ElAttrache, who operated on Ohtani’s elbow, said in an LA Times article at the start of the post season that Ohtani was still in the recovery period and that it was not a good idea to put him in a high-intensity situation without a gradual buildup. I hoped to see Ohtani pitch in this WS until I read this. It seems like he is not medically cleared.
He's still human. He probably could, but he'd have had to started prepping for it at least a few weeks ago and it would risk injury. The GM would never let him do it.
Nah he wont. He knows his body better than you and is too professional to know to not burn his body in his first year of his 10 year contract when he also had his 2nd elbow surgery.
I’m glad the Dodgers have Glasnow! When this dude on it he is as good as anyone. Hopefully next year with a potential 6-man rotation everyone will be able to stay healthy. Glasnow, Buehler, Ohtani, Yamamoto, Gonslin, Kershaw, Sheehan, May, Miller and maybe Flaherty back. That’s like having two good Starting rotations with Gavin Stone and River Ryan coming back in 2026!
i’m pretty sure the meeting todd was referring to happened after tyler stepped away from the team for a few days. the news was a real blow, tyler was away, and then he was back with the team. that’s why he didn’t know about it, lol.
I think shohei pitches. They won’t say it until it happens. If dodgers are up , no. If dodgers are down in the series and it’s game 7. Shohei coming in for two innings in game 7
That meeting that max muncy talked about was the day after glasnow got hurt. I’m 99% sure glas wasn’t with the team the day after he was injured. Probably doing medical stuff. He didn’t know what was said at that meeting where they said “let’s carry on strong without him.” As a matter of fact, it would be really awkward to say all that with him sitting on the room 😂
We now have players that have been proven players in Playoffs and WS , Betts, Edman, Freeman, Ohtani, T Hernandez, E Hernandez, many pitchers to examine in how they did. No doubt we have many that can play regular season.
I highly doubt it dodgers don't play around with time frame to get pitchers back. Only on walkers 2nd TJ I think they put it off for a bit cause he was working through it then they shut him down. But River Ryan, Hudson, gonslin dodgers always made, Dustin may. Dodgers always made sure to get the surgery out of the way and get into rehab
Don't bother Glasnow. It's simple: if Ohtani and his doctor both had 100% confidence in his arm and body before today, he would be available as the ultimate weapon. Any confidence rate below that, the possibility is zero. We cannot know Shohei’s actual health status, but we know his original and ongoing rehab schedule is for pitching from next spring. Thus, we can only anticipate ZERO chance, and we should never put pressure on him or the team, no matter how the series goes.
Let’s not play this game, zero chance of Ohtani pitcher, even if he was 100% healthy, dodgers aren’t risking it, even if the World Series was on the line.
I don't understand why he is even asking this question. Seemed rude. He did contribute to get us to the post season so he shouldn't feel bad. no reason for him to feel guilty.
Long term planning does guarantee a sustainable competitiveness, but dodgers fan know that too well when everyone questions the 2020 championship. David Stearns just coined the aforementioned phrase, then you have a past championlike Rizzo playing through broken fingers, Nestor willing to blow out his elbow, Soto wanting to EARN a bigger contract than Shohei, Judge needing to establish a legacy, Cole proving to be a championship ace, I see this going 7 games… Validation v. Hunger on both teams! A great series so yes expect umpires and juiced balls again…
Tyler is our ace. He's been carrying the pressure of being the option #1 for the Dodgers all season long. I was devastated when they reported that he will be shut down the rest of the season. It sucks not seeing him have the opportunity to lead the starting pitching this postseason. But I'm sure he will be back stronger next season. Ohtani will also pitch in 2025. He and Ohtani will be our 1 and 2 in no order. Kersh will also be back. Sheehan, May, Gonsolin, Yamamoto, and hopefully Flaherty and Buehler. Anyways, the interviewer is too dumb to still hope that Shohei will pitch in the WS like bro, its not gonna fvckin happen. Dodgers mgmt and doctors would not risk Ohtani's rehab just to give chance to the viewers a historic moment risking Ohtani's long-term health😂
The whole of the MLB needs to hire biomechanics/anatomy experts and sort out this pitcher injury situation. I think it was Pedro Martinez that suggested the split fingers and the angle of the elbow puts too much strain on the tendons in the forearm and elbow leading to injury. Like, as a professional scout and manager, they should really question whether to pay an elite pitcher $30m to pitch just 50 innings a season vs getting a $10m 150 innings pitcher that may not have a whole arsenal and elite stuff, but reliably there.
Just clarifying that nowadays to get elite stuff generally involves putting your arms in awkward and injury-risk positions. Not everyone is Maddux. But as a scout, one could analyse the mechanics and suggest that this guy is low risk-injury.
@@Tom-VYes they would. Nestor is doing exactly that. And Rizzo hit 400 with 2 broken fingers in the ALCS. Nestor can pitch, but he is taking a risk of further injury.
