Lol..when I first started customizing...I couldn't get any help at the store for sandpaper..I was hot..then it dawned on..beauty supply store got nail files lol I use those instead now lol
@@CadetLifestyle I’ll keep an eye on it. You may be right but i think I put to many layers may be the problem or to much duller i was reading and it’s a little chalky looking. I appreciate the response. Your kicks are 🔥

Nice and great Prep-Tutorial, exactly what i was looking for! Thanks Mate! and i felt the part "rather to undertape then overtape. Just started to practice on Shoes and Overtaped 2 Times and 1 time it peeled, now i wont try to tape so extreme for sharp Sole-Edge anymore, Solecleaning is way easier :D Sub is in :D
You said that you don't really want to paint the rubber sole. When the sole turns yellow like air force 1s does what do you do to get the white back and the yellow out?
have you used ANGELUS ¨Leather Prep & Deglazer¨ Product?, i noticed you use KLEAN STRIP ACETONE, whats your opinion on why you use KLEAN STRIP and not ANGELUS
My air forces aren’t as beat as yours after you prep. It doesn’t have as much gray on it, do you think I should keep working more acetone on it? How do you know you did enough?
Hi, great video as always. Just wondering, how long do you wait to remove the tape after painting? I think i removed mine to early and had to spend a lot of time touching up the custom. Oh, and looking forward to Nov 1st. 👍
I don't have a set time limit but I would say roughly 20-30 minutes. I normally do other things after I apply my finisher like struggle to find laces😂🤣. One thing you can do is take an exacto knife and cut gently between were the tape meets the shoe
i plan to put a giant patch on the shoe that will go partly over the midsole, is that a good idea or will putting it partially on the midsole make it come off easily later on?
I have a question tho, for customizing jordan 1's. If you buy white ones it has like a leathery pattern. Can you get rid of that tho to have it just be smooth instead? Like all the ones with colorways, if it's colored it's smooth tho and i was wondering if i want to make something similar like that in my own colors i want it to look smooth like that too and not with the leathery pattern
I have some questions bro.. is there a way I can contact you.. I just did my first shoe n was looking for your opinion n advice bro. I looked at your video yo prep the shoe n paint but i think I messed up some where
iam here from belgium and i cant find scotchpads and that yellow thingie with sandpaper my mom doesnt want to buy it for me from amazon do you really need it or isnt it that important pls help me
I learn something new everyday thanks bro 💯
No issue. I appreciate you✊🏿
I was thinking about customize the air force 1 cause it looks really simple to paint but then I learned there's alot of stuff u got to do lol thx man
You're welcome. It is pretty simple to paint but as a professional you have to eliminate all possible of cracking
Damn I ain’t even kno sand paper was an option glooks bro💯🔥🔥
Yezzir! No issue bruh any time✊🏿

That's exactly what I did too!!🤣😂
I use vinyl tape. That is mean on the edges.
I have used it a few times before. It just is expensive and I dont like having to cut it. But it does work great
I just did my first pair for my daughter. I didn’t sand only used acetone to prep. Hopefully it holds up.
It should. I have done alot of pairs without sanding. It's just going the extra mile for me
@@CadetLifestyle I’ll be sanding my next pair I have noticed that where the shoe is creasing that the color is lightening up. Is that normal?
@@RyanStewart228 honestly I'm not familiar with it getting lighter, but that may be the result of not applying enough layers

No issue 💪🏿
HI! Should sandpaper be used only in the areas to be painted or all over the shoe?
I've heard that only areas that r being painted on. But u can ask around or check out his other videos to learn more. Hope that helps.

I feel like it gets down to the bare leather better and it's less expensive

Its different for each shoe. But as long as the shoes feel different and kinda have a matte look then u should be good.
Excelente

@@CadetLifestyle Awwwwhhh. OK!!! Thanks so much!!! :)
Can u apply touch finisher
just wanted to ask why do you need to sand it before painting?
It's not absolutely necessary, but I just like to do it for extra security
Where did you get that little sand paper thing?! I need that for sure.
I think it was Walmart. It was a while ago so idk if they still sell them. Let me know if you get them
Nice vid dude
Thank you
You said from the lowest to the highest on the sand paper ? Example please ?
Say you start with 400 grit paper, then 600, the 800 and so on
Good stuff just subbed
Thank you 🙏🏾
Hey dude, would you prep pig skin on the Nike huarache like this,? the same as leather?? Many thanks for the video. 👍
Yes I would. Just use a higher grit sand paper like 800 and up
i plan to put a giant patch on the shoe that will go partly over the midsole, is that a good idea or will putting it partially on the midsole make it come off easily later on?
I believe it will be ok depending on where you put it and what kind of adhesive you use
@@CadetLifestyle i just plant to sandpaper and acetone it. and when i apply it, put on e6000 glue(super glue)
Is Sanding required if paiting using a simple brush ?
It's not required, just an extra step
Can I use rubbing achohal or nail polish remover to prep?
You can use nail polish remover but not alcohol
@@CadetLifestyle Ok ty
Hey man how do you know if the shoes have been prepped with enough acetone?
It should feel different. For me it's not as slick

I honestly don't think its possible. The only thing that may smooth it out is a lot of sanding. But that may damage the shoe
@@CadetLifestyle oof aight i see, thanks for the reply tho!
U need to do a giveaway no cap and squad 🗣
It's on the way! I'm trying to do it soon cuz we're almost at 2k. I'm doing more than 1 winner that's why its taking so long
Does the paint matter for the different type of shoes?
No it's the same angelus paint
rather under tape than over, small but great tip!
💪🏿
@@CadetLifestyle random question, when I'm using brushes do i need paint thinner or anything to clean them off? Just water?

Can u use alcohol instead of acetone
No I wouldn't recommend it. Alcohol isn't as strong
@@CadetLifestyle thanks big bru
6:16 fuck cold song 🤌🏼😍🔥what’s it called please if anyone knows!?!
Do you sand and use acetone when you airbrush shoes to?
Yes I do. No matter what you use, for leather you always prep it

I wouldn't say you need it. It's just something extra.
No just any fine grit sandpaper and acetone
Yeah any fine grit and acetone should work
Bro you look a bit like 2pac 😂
😂yeah I hear it all the time
Dude just list what needs to be used
Ok I'll redo this video just for you
@@CadetLifestyle Nope, no need to. The video is good, but I rather it had been the list of what we need. just my opinion.
@@bigben1986 yeah this was on of my early videos so I have grown a lot since then in editing. Appreciate you checking it out
@@CadetLifestyle Keep up the good work and happy new year!!
Would using cotton balls cancel out the need to use sanding paper?
No it wouldn't. The purpose of the sand paper is to create small pockets for the paint to hold on to. Acetone only gets the factory finish off
This is my first time painting shoes and I don’t want to mess it up I start in two days😅
@@victorzilber543 understood! But honestly you can only use acetone but I just recommend sand paper on a professional level
