This young man is seriously talented. You can read books and learn how to do mods & repairs, but some people just have a natural appitude and creativity for this type of thing. That's not something you can get from books. Talented individual. I wish you all the very best for 2020.
When I started, I got the parts and was considering on finding someone to mod my SKX, but then I found this channel and mustered up the courage to do it myself, and am so glad I did! Thanks again Eric!
No one really wants to share any specifics since the more people that know their supplier, the less likely they're able to get the parts themselves. But, helping people know the general gist of things doesn't hurt anyone!
I didn't catch where he said he gets his parts from. I just saw him say he gets them online or from some Seiko sellers but didn't list any links or names of distributers.
I have been working for 40 years now, in the electro-technical industry and probably worked with thousands of people up over the years, and of course, experienced both people keeping all they know by themselves, and also had colleges sharing all they know, and I can tell you that sharing all your knowledge is the way to go in the long term, those people usually get promoted and are doing well, those keeping information by themselves can often be 'key' personnel for some time but they usually are 'punished' by being kind of isolated, remember one important thing, most people are grateful for information and give information back again, so those people sharing have usually a lot of knowledge, also, another important thing to notice, people sharing what they know also usually are considered to be 'intelligent' and an valuable resource in an organization, so, my advice to young men are, do not be afraid to share your knowledge, (and of course, you do not need to tell absolutely everything) just saying
@@thespegs , exactly!!!!! he didn't say where he get OEM parts!! He said NOTHING !!! But i understand that he wants to make money in this business, so...... it is what it is! everyone got their own secrets.
I want to thank everyone again for the support during 2019! I hope to see you guys stick around for 2020, more videos are in the works! If you guys want to see more Q&A videos, perhaps once a month or every two months, do let me know below!
Are these Dive Watches pressure tested after you modify them? That is very important for scuba divers. You watches look great and am interested in procuring one but I am a hard core diver. The watches must maintain the pressure ratings or they become cool watches for "Desk Divers"! Regards, Eddie Jones erjones1959@icloud.com
The more I watch your vids the more impressed I am by your talent and skill. Unbelievable that you are self taught and have been only doing this for 3 years considering the high level you show. I may need to buy a custom from you sooner than later before a watch company hires you!
I started like 3 months ago and all the cheap tools either made damage or were just not working, so I 100% agree with starting with the best tools possible from the get go.
Thanks for answering my question first! I completed my 6105-8110 mod yesterday and am quite happy with it, especially since it was my first mod. Thanks for this fantastic video! I would love to see another Q&A video on the topics of the mod community itself. Can’t wait to see more videos in 2020.
Eric, damn dude! Just yesterday I happened upon your RUclips channel and found it and your OCD work ethics to be my number one reason for having my interests tuned to watch modding, Seiko timepieces in particular. These are watches are known for the exceptional and reliable workmanship. Seiko should appreciate your endeavors and are for the most part its brand ambassador. All your watches displayed in your IG page is awesome... You apparently have taken this interest to a whole new level with your wholly informed tutorials and advise.. I'm looking to get my first watchmakers/modders tool kit... You've inspired me to take up this hobby and do something you appreciate doing and over the course turn it into a business venture as well as a highly useful educational resource for others too. Kudos to you my friend!
Great video, where to source dials seems to be a question I see asked a lot. I knew there wasn't going to be a "silver bullet' answer. The idea of trying to use a retail store owner is something I have already started to do. Hopefully it works out. I can't wait to see what the OEM prices actually are as compared to what I see people asking online.
Hope to see a q&a video #2! My original question: Do different story companies have capability issues with one another (eg, dlw bezel insert not fitting on a CT bezel, or a CT bezel not working on a 4:44 case, etc)
I just subscribed to your channel... Very well done.. very informative.. I really like your down to earth approach .. I’m just now thinking about building my own watches as I’ve been a Seiko buyer for many years.. Keep up the great work..
I just bought a Chinese Pagani Design watch. It uses a Seiko VK63 movement. I like the watch, but I have presbyopia (bad near vision), and can't see the narrow silver hands against the white dial. I can replace the hands if I can find some appropriate black hands, or I can paint the existing hands black. What do you suggest? And can you help me find new hands or point me to painting instructions? Thanks
Great vids thanks Eric, I,m looking at Sbbn027 marine master 1000 sbbn035 mm300 but have also seen Prospex LX , and am struggling to understand why the LX is 3 x the price of the MM s , can you explain .
whats the crossover like from watch mods and gunpla? i started down the gunpla rabbithole a few months ago and now ive found myself looking into watches lol
I’ve been trying to find an oem seiko GMT dial for 4r34 for forever. I found dials that fit but are either not seiko branded or are seiko but doesn’t say GMT.
Thanks for posting this, very helpful. Question - what’s the best bracelet quality brand for a sub style bracelet in your opinion ? Would you recommend a particular Seiko bracelet model or aftermarket brands such as a Strapcode ?
When you step into the luxury watch world you think you have made it and you will never go back, all you know is Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Cartier etc.. But it's when you discover the Seiko modding world that you reach wrist watch utopia.
Well said and I agree 👍🏼 For what one would have to spend on a luxury watch like a Rolex or Omega I would much rather spend my money on some fantastic top quality custom modded Seikos like what Lume Shot is producing.
yo m8, i just want to find a dail for a srpe with gmt movement that is looks like a rpm gauge or automotive inspired or just speedracer black and white dail but with day window only
Question for you: do you ever work with Swiss movements? I’ve been looking to build some 2824 clone-based watches but struggle to find dials and parts. Know of any good sites?
Maybe it's just me, but I'm having a hard time finding OEM Seiko dials for sale. Is there a way to search for a specific watch dial? Do you search by the dial part number, the model number of the watch it comes on, etc. Or is there some trick to searching for all available OEM Seiko dials that I'm missing somehow? Thanks for your videos BTW, I'm embarking on my first full build using a CT202 with an NH36 as the base.
I want that Bloodmoon watch. That is so sick how the glass turns red at an angle. Does Seiko sell those? Or do you have to mod them? Forgive me I am new to watches.
Lots of questions, splendid answers. Hold up the good work, its a niche market with great future. We all are different, wish to be so, success is on your side. Cheerio, Achim in Singapore+
Great video, keep up the awesome work..... I love modded seikos, you create some of the cleanest designs, torn between wanted to mod myself or commission from you or both. Look forward to more of your videos and corresponding via email.
If we see a watch on your instagram that looks amazing, would you be able to provide a list of parts that went into that build? Or would a fee come from that? Thanks!
What a polite, knowledgeable, informative, impressive, and respectful person.
Thanks, and much respect to you for your abilities and knowledge.

Pro trick: watch series at kaldroStream. I've been using it for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Arturo Alfredo Yea, been using kaldroStream for since november myself =)

Did you actually do it? I found this channel last nite, and he makes seems so easy that I am now considering it,,,
It took me over 1 hour to set a second hand my first time...used no magnification.

Where should I look for safe reliable purchasing of movements? Mainly NH series movements like the 35, 36, and 38
Thank you for this Q&A! I really appreciate your contribution to the watch community!
Could you get hold of a logo grown Eric ? For a 6r35 movement like a blue one if possible ?
Definitely a different case on those close ups very sharp edges. I like them

I had to subscribe to your channel after seeing that beautiful blue watch you gave to your father. Great job and great gift.

the important thing is to get people to wear a watch at all...great, great point mate.
Hope to see a q&a video #2!
My original question:
Do different story companies have capability issues with one another (eg, dlw bezel insert not fitting on a CT bezel, or a CT bezel not working on a 4:44 case, etc)
There shouldn't be any compatibility issues. I've used 15 4:44 cases and Namoki, DLW and OSC bezels all worked fine with the right gasket.
I’m flabbergasted you only have 127k followers. Great content and concise. Keep up the great work. 👌🏻
So, where do you get Seiko parts? I have a 6309-7290; hard to find parts. Other than trial and error, how do you know what parts will fit what case?
Surprising how hard it is to find this answer. I thought there were more things online than there are
Your Videos and pictures on Insta inspired me to try modding a watch myself. Thanks for the great content and have a happy new year 👍
Dude you’re one of my new heroes. Learning so much from you
Hey Eric, do you also pressure test the builds once completed?
Hello. What is the cleaning gel you use to clean hands ? It looks like you put a droplet on a straw to clean the hands. What is that ?
when it comes to modding, (im new to watches) can you mod any seiko watch regardless of movement or is it only specific models?
Great video my friend. Thanks for answering all those questions. Good stuff. Keep up the great work.
