- Sharing my Jane Austen sets! I know a few of you requested a bookshelf tour, well it turns out 95% of the books visible were Jane Austen novels haha.
I really hope you enjoy this video, it was a mammoth to edit so thanks for your patience. I actually have loads more I could share so if you would like to see some of my individual novels as well let me know 🤍

The chair on the PEL edition of Emma is Mr. Knightly’s Chair 🪑❤
This is such a good point! Didn’t think of this thank you 🤍 me thinking it’s a deckchair 😂😂😂
@@Izzymeakin To be fair it does look like one! 😂
Hmmm. What would others on here choose as a motif?
Nice video- very thorough and some gorgeous books. 💕
I had exactly the same journey with the Timeless Classis series. I could only get them in my local Tesco Superstore but after a certain point they seemed to stop stocking them, which was annoying as I really wanted both the JA and the Elizabeth Gaskell sets. I realised that they hadn't stopped, just changed the days they were putting on the shelves and also reducing the number of copies they actually stocked making it virtually impossible to get a copy. Eventually I found out that someone I went to school with was the assistant manager so I persuaded him to put a copy to one side of the titles I wanted. I owe him a million drinks 😂😂😂
Oh my goodness well I'm glad i wasn't alone in the journey 😂 it really was stressful, amazing that you found someone who could help you. I love it when people come together to help each other collect books haha, i was so grateful to Sophie for helping me complete my set! Bookish people have to stick together
Love ur collection!! I’ve been wanting the timeless classics for such a long time. I even considered getting the Italian copies bc there was no English at the time. Excited to see there’s translated copies! On eBay the shipping from UK to my country is more expensive than the price listed on the books. I don’t know if it’s risky to keep waiting bc they can become rare again. Not having the money will make me wait anyways lol.
It's been a hard week at work, and this is exactly what was needed! This truly made me smile - what a wonderful, exquisite collection!
So glad you enjoyed the video and seeing my collection! 📖
This afternoon I watched the movie "sense and sensibility" and now I would like to read the novel❤
Love that film! You should definitely read the book, I’m sure you will love it :)
Love Jane Austen she was one of the first authors I read and what got me into reading. Thank you for sharing such a lovely collection. I also love looking for the continuation stories to her novels too to see how they have been interpreted.
Womanhoo thank you~ absolutely love your collection! Thank you for sharing❤
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the video!
For the Penguin clothbound editions I do take some white paper and improvise a dust jacket to avoid the rubbing and the fingers transpiration to destroy the covers.
I love this idea!
All of your books look so amazingly beautiful ^-^!❤
Thank you!
Some classy editions. Great books.
Thanks!
Nice collection, Izzy! The vintage ones are great, but require patience and are more expensive to collect. Congrats on the ones you’ve found! You’ve mentioned the illustrated Folio Society ones, which I definitely recommend. For high- end there are also the luxurious, leather-bound Easton Press editions.
Also if you haven’t seen them, there are the Litjoy Classics (embossed black and gold, very beautiful) and there’s a deluxe Pride and Prejudice edition with wonderful watercolour illustrations by Bil Donovan, the chief fashion illustrator for Dior.
Oh my goodness! these all sound great I'm going to look them up now, thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you Sam!
Sam is the true hero of the story haha!
Lovely video!! I want those Cranford Austen's now. It's going to be so hard to source them over here in Australia
They are so beautiful! I hope you are able to get hold of them, or that the subscription comes there 📖🤍
You win. I read Ms Austen's books each year, but one doesn't have so many different additions. My favourites are Northanger Abbey & Pride & Prejudice, but all are enjoyed by me... Still on a mission to try to read the Bronte family...😐🤓
Haha, I have an insane amount of Austen novels I know! NA and P&P are both sooo good. If you are interested I also have a podcast called What the Austen? where i talk about Jane Austen with guests every other week 🤍
I’m in the US and had to get the timeless classics pride and prejudice for a ridiculous price off of eBay but i had to have it its so stunning 😂
It is so beautiful! they all are so I totally understand paying more for them
I actually filmed a video on my Jane Austen collection (fiction) last weekend! 😅 It will be out next Sunday (another video coming out tomorrow).
That’s cool thanks for sharing, hope you had fun making it :)
@@Izzymeakin I did! But I can't promise my collection will not grow... 😉🤭
STUNNINGGG collection 🤩 Will you be taking part in the Jane Austen July Readathon next month? ✨️
I don't think I will this year! but I am looking forward to seeing all the bookstagram posts on it :) 🤍
Do you think you can still get hold of the timeless classic collection in WHSmith?
❤❤❤
Love this video! Off to get another set of Jane Austen novels! Where is the trolley from?
it was from ikea, they have a few different colours :) You can never have enough Austen copies!
I have come across your channel recently. My research has found that RBA, who sell the Timeless Classics, is a Spanish company who also sell these books in the Spanish language. I'm thinking of going for a subscription with them as I don't currently own any of the 45 titles they sell and would like to.
I didn't know that, thanks for sharing! how exciting, they are beautiful books so worth collecting :)
Its peacocks Not swans.....regarding the old edition of pnp
Yes peacocks on most based on the Hugh Thomson illustrated Peacock Edition from the 1800's. The swans were just on the Clothbound edition, but maybe they are also peacocks I just can't tell haha 😅
How to get the cranford collection? I cannot seem how to find a way to purchase it...
So it part of a subscription called Timeless classics, if you head to their website you might be able to see if its in your area www.timeless-classics.co.uk/
You must have seen them in Spanish, not Italian. Timeless classics were first published in Spain and became incredibly popular, and then they started the issues in the UK. In Spain you can either subscribe or just buy the ones you like on the website. Unluckily for me, I read in English but can’t get them in English here in Spain. 😢
You are likely right! and thanks for the extra info there are a lot of people in the comments looking to get hold of them. oh no that's such a shame they didn't do both a Spanish and english subscription in Spain!
I've just watched through your video and realised; I'm just about to donate my Austen collection to charity (I've replaced them with a beautiful bind up) and I have Emma in the Zodiac Press, if you'd like it? I'm happy to send any of my editions I'm unhauling to you if you're willing to cover postage? I'm UK based ✨️
No "Lady Susan"?
Not in this video, but I do have some of her shorter works/ unfinished works as well :)
Will you gift me some of your collections? It just doing goosebumps underneath my skin!!! 😢😢
Haha, I couldn't part with my books but I am glad you enjoyed the video and I hope i could give you some inspiration.
